Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji lanskap linguistik sebagai media penyampaian informasi publik di area layanan Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Jawa Timur. Tujuan penelitian adalah mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk penanda, menganalisis fungsi informasionalnya, serta menilai efektivitasnya dalam mendukung layanan publik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dalam kajian lanskap linguistik. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, dokumentasi visual, dan teknik catat terhadap berbagai penanda di area layanan perpustakaan dan kearsipan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penanda didominasi oleh signage top-down yang diproduksi institusi. Sebagian besar menggunakan bahasa Indonesia secara monolingual, sedangkan beberapa lainnya menggunakan bentuk bilingual Indonesia–Inggris atau istilah asing terbatas. Penanda berfungsi sebagai sarana informasi dan regulasi layanan, seperti petunjuk arah, prosedur layanan, label fasilitas, klasifikasi koleksi, larangan, dan alur pelayanan. Secara umum, penanda efektif mendukung komunikasi masyarakat melalui penggunaan bahasa yang ringkas, formal, dan direktif, meskipun masih terdapat batasan pada kepadatan teks, ukuran huruf, penggunaan istilah teknis, dan konsistensi bahasa.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of intersectionality experienced by the character Bu Prani in the film Budi Pekerti. A qualitative method was employed to describe these intersectional aspects based on Kimberlé Crenshaw’s framework. The data consisted of dialogue, visuals, and scenes from Wregas Bhanuteja’s film Budi Pekerti that illustrate the intersectionality affecting Bu Prani. Data collection involved observation and documentation of the film. The results reveal three types of intersectionality experienced by Bu Prani: (1) structural intersectionality (two instances), (2) representational intersectionality (two instances), and (3) political intersectionality (two instances). These findings indicate that the injustice Bu Prani experiences is shaped not only by gender but also by intersecting factors—such as social constructs, power dynamics in media representation, and school policies—which collectively intensify the forms of adversity she faces.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali kearifan lokal gotong royong di Desa Gledug, Kecamatan Sanankulon, Kabupaten Blitar, pada penyelenggaraan tradisi Grebeg Suro. Dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini mengekplorasi kehidupan budaya dan hubungan sosial antarwarga. Data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi, menggunakan teknik purposive sampling untuk menentukan informan yang meliputi pemuda desa Argelor, tokoh masyarakat, dan ketua Pemuda Argelor. Teknik analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Grebeg Suro menjadi wadah pelestarian budaya sekaligus penguat hubungan sosial antarwarga desa yang didalamya terdapat nilai gotong royong. Peran Pemuda Argelor sangat signifikan dalam menyusun acara dengan konsep baru yang lebih menarik, melibatkan berbagai elemen masyarakat, seperti perangkat desa, karang taruna, dan kelompok seni tradisional dan pelaku UMKM. Dengan adanya kirab budaya, pentas seni, dan pasar rakyat, kegiatan ini tidak hanya mempererat kebersamaan, tetapi juga menarik perhatian pengunjung dari luar daerah. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa tradisi budaya lokal dapat bersinergi dengan inovasi modern untuk menciptakan keberlanjutan budaya dan harmoni sosial dengan berdasar nilai gotong royong. Dengan demikian, nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam tradisi Grebeg Suro menjadi sumber informasi otentik yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh guru dan siswa sebagi sumber belajar IPS

Abstract

Novel Srimenanti karya Joko Pinurbo memiliki yang hadir di dalamnya dengan memanfaatkan penggunaan gaya bahasa untuk memperkuat makna dan menghadirkan estetika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk gaya bahasa perbandingan yang hadir pada puisi dalam novel tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, dengan sumber data berupa puisi-puisi yang hadir di novel Srimenanti. Adapun untuk analisis data, penelitian ini memakai model dari Miles dan Huberman dengan cara merdeuksi data, menyajikan data, dan menarik verifikasi kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ditemukan empat gaya bahasa perbandingan pada puisi yang berupa metafora sebanyak tujuh data, personifikasi enam data, simile dua data, dan antitesis satu data. Gaya bahasa metafora merupakan yang paling dominan ditemukan, sehingga menunjukkan bahwa puisi dalam novel Srimenantikaya akan makna kiasan, sehingga perlu pembacaan yang lebih cermat untuk memahami isi novel keseluruhan.

Abstract

Building a personal brand on Instagram has become a strategy for local skincare entrepreneurs in Palopo to foster consumer trust, strengthen their business image, and enhance their competitiveness in the digital era. This study aims to examine the forms of self-branding cultivated by these entrepreneurs on Instagram and to analyze the representation of meaning levels within their self-branding efforts. A qualitative approach utilizing a case study method was employed. The study focused on two local skincare entrepreneurs in Palopo, In Glow and Mechaeland selected purposively based on criteria regarding their direct involvement in business management and Instagram self-branding activities. Data collection, conducted over the course of May, involved observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the forms of self-branding employed include certified products as an element of reality, consumer education, product presentation and testimonials, and engaging content ideas as forms of representation. Regarding levels of meaning, the study identified the meaning of the self as a form of ideology, the meaning of the product as a form of representation, and visual meaning as a form of reality.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the user experience quality of a QR Code-based video tutorial for modern modified Solo Putri bridal makeup instruction across three core dimensions: usefulness, ease of use, and interface quality. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach involving 175 active Cosmetology Study Program students at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta selected via simple random sampling from a population of 284 students. Data were collected using a 5 points Likert scale questionnaire comprising 12 statement items. Item-level validity testing confirmed that all items were statistically valid (r = 0.785 – 0.924, p 0.001, exceeding = 0.148, and reliability testing yielded a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.941. Data were evaluated using normalized mean scores on a 1–5 scale and percentage of the ideal score. The media achieved an overall aggregate mean score of 4.32 out of 5.00 (86.40% of the ideal score), demonstrating a very high level of user acceptance. Among the dimensions, usefulness recorded the highest mean score of 4.48 (89.60%), followed by ease of use at 4.35 (87.00%), and interface quality at 4.18 (83.60%). These findings indicate that the video tutorial was perceived as highly beneficial for supporting independent practical learning, user friendly on digital devices, and visually appealing. This study demonstrates that simple digital technology, such as QR Code-based video tutorials, is positively perceived and highly feasible as a supporting medium in vocational makeup education. It further illustrates how low-barrier digital tools can facilitate flexible access to traditional cultural makeup knowledge for contemporary learners.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of singing as a strategy for practicing English speaking skills among university students. Recognizing the important role of music in students’ daily lives, the study explores how singing can provide an enjoyable and meaningful approach to language learning. Singing incorporates rhythm, melody, pronunciation, and vocabulary, which may contribute to the development of speaking competence. This research employed a descriptive qualitative design involving 15 students from Class 4A1 of the English Education Study Program. Data were collected through online interviews and observations conducted during the research period, with interviews held on June 11–12, 2026. The findings indicate that students positively perceived singing as an enjoyable and engaging learning activity. Moreover, Students perceived singing as helpful for practicing pronunciation, vocabulary, and fluency. The study concludes that singing can serve as an effective alternative strategy for practicing English speaking skills while creating a more enjoyable and less stressful learning environment.
