Abstract

The Trans Jatim – AJAIB application is the main channel for route information, live bus tracking, and electronic ticketing for Trans Jatim bus users across Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Gresik, and Mojokerto, yet its user experience had never been evaluated through the UX Honeycomb model. This quantitative descriptive study measured all seven UX Honeycomb dimensions, namely Useful, Usable, Desirable, Findable, Accessible, Credible, and Valuable, among 222 active users selected through purposive sampling. Respondents completed four in-app task scenarios before answering an online questionnaire, and the resulting data were analyzed descriptively using SPSS. Overall, user experience fell into the “Good” category, with dimension means ranging from 3.91 to 3.97. Desirable scored highest (3.97) thanks to a visually appealing, comfortable interface, while Findable, Accessible, and Valuable tied for the lowest score at 3.91. What stood out, however, was that complaints clustered mostly around Valuable and Credible: users felt the benefits did not quite match the effort of learning the app, and the bus position on the map often did not match its actual location on the road. Restructuring the navigation, making the interface more legible for older users, and stabilizing the ticket-purchase feature stand out as the next priorities.

Abstract

The digitalization of public services in Surabaya through the Sayang Warga website aims to facilitate data collection conducted by Surabaya Hebat Cadres (KSH). However, its implementation faces real challenges in the field, as the majority of cadres belong to the pre-elderly and elderly age groups with limited digital literacy. Therefore, this study aims to redesign the user interface of the Sayang Warga website to render it more accessible, user-friendly, and easy to use for this specific demographic group. This research employs the User-Centered Design (UCD) methodology, grounded in the ISO 9241-210:2019 human-centered design standard. Within this document, the scope of research is delimited from the problem identification phase to the initial design stage in the form of low-fidelity wireframes. Data collection was conducted through observation and in-depth interviews with five active cadres to comprehensively map user characteristics, pain points, and requirements. An initial evaluation using the Single Ease Question (SEQ) yielded a relatively low usability score of 3.28 out of 7. Based on these findings, a design solution was formulated focusing on clear navigation, responsive data tables, and high legibility to minimize extraneous cognitive load. The resulting deliverables include user flows and low-fidelity interfaces for the Login, Home, Family Card Data (Data KK), and Survey pages, which serve as a foundational baseline for subsequent high-fidelity prototype development and usability evaluations.

Abstract

This comparative descriptive qualitative study aims to deeply analyze the differences in internal and external preparation patterns as well as debate competence levels (content, style, and strategy) between finalist and non-finalist high school English debate teams in Ngada Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The research subjects comprised two finalist teams (six students) and two non-finalist teams (six students) selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via semi-structured interviews, participatory observation during competitions, and documentary analysis. Data trustworthiness was established through technical and source triangulation followed by data analysis using Miles, Huberman, and Saldana's interactive model. The findings reveal significant disparities between the two groups. Internally, the finalist teams implemented the "Speaking Without Script" training method, possessed domain-specific vocabulary exceeding 2,000 words, practiced active listening using recordings of international competitions, and demonstrated mental resilience and a growth mindset when handling impromptu motions and Points of Information (POIs). Conversely, the non-finalist teams relied heavily on reading full scripts, exhibited limited vocabulary (below 500 words), and experienced high anxiety accompanied by cognitive rigidity when interrupted. Externally, finalist teams benefited from proactive school management featuring dedicated budgets, guidance from experienced coaches, structured practice frequencies (3–4 times a week), and access to global literature and news platforms. Meanwhile, non-finalist teams struggled with reactive/incidental training, restricted data literacy, and minimal ecosystem support. Regarding debate competence, the finalist teams excelled in constructing solid logical chains and layered analysis (content), persuasive unscripted rhetoric (style), and adaptive time management with clash analysis (strategy). These findings emphasize that debate success requires a systematic synthesis of linguistic competence, logical articulation, mental toughness, and institutional support.

Abstract

KRL (Commuter Line) is one of the main public transportation services used by the community, particularly in the Greater Jakarta area. The high level of activity among KRL users has generated various conversations on social media X (Twitter) concerning schedules, routes, operational disruptions, complaints, and service facilities. The large volume of unstructured conversations makes it difficult to manually identify the topics discussed and the relationships among them. This study aims to map the topics of KRL Commuter Line user conversations on social media X using BERTopic and analyze the relationships among topics using Social Network Analysis (SNA). The data were collected through web scraping from social media X using the keywords "KRL", "Commuter Line", and "@CommuterLine" during the period from March to May 2026, and were subsequently processed through a preprocessing stage. BERTopic modeling consisted of sentence embedding using SentenceTransformer, dimensionality reduction using UMAP, clustering using HDBSCAN, and topic representation using C-TF IDF. The modeling results identified ten main topics covering schedules and delays, routes and travel directions, operational disruptions, unresolved user complaints, women's carriages, and priority seating, with a Topic Coherence score of 0.4387 and a Topic Diversity score of 0.7897. SNA was then used to map the relationships among topics based on shared keywords, forming a network with 9 nodes and 12 edges, an Average Degree of 1.333, an Average Weighted Degree of 2.778, and three communities with a modularity value of 0.337. The network evaluation showed that Topic 3 (Routes and Stations) and Topic 4 (Unresolved Complaints) had the highest degree value of 4, while Topic 4 had the highest betweenness centrality and served as a bridge between groups. The network of KRL user conversation topics was divided into three communities: schedules and routes, operational disruptions and complaints, and priority facilities, which were interconnected through Topic 3 and Topic 4. Therefore, the combination of BERTopic and SNA provides an overview of KRL user conversation topics and the relationships among topics on social media X.

Abstract

The Final Project module of SIPINTAR is an academic information system developed by Universitas Negeri Surabaya to support the management and monitoring of students' final project processes. Considering its important role in supporting academic activities, an evaluation is required to examine the influence of the End-User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) dimensions on User Satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the influence of the Content, Accuracy, Format, Ease of Use, and Timeliness dimensions on User Satisfaction among students, lecturers, and heads of study programs. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 160 respondents, consisting of 100 students, 30 lecturers, and 30 heads of study programs. The data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with SmartPLS 4 software. Prior to hypothesis testing, the measurement model was evaluated through validity and reliability tests to ensure the quality of the research instruments. The results of the structural model analysis indicate that the influence of the EUCS dimensions on User Satisfaction differs across respondent groups. Among students, only the Content dimension has a positive and significant effect on User Satisfaction. Among lecturers, the Accuracy and Format dimensions have positive and significant effects on User Satisfaction. Meanwhile, among heads of study programs, all EUCS dimensions, namely Content, Accuracy, Format, Ease of Use, and Timeliness, have positive and significant effects on User Satisfaction. The findings of this study are expected to provide input for the further development of the SIPINTAR Final Project module based on the analysis results for each user group.
