Abstract

Adolescent religiosity has declined, while studies on Islamic spiritual outreach (Rohis) strategies in public schools where Muslim students are a minority remain limited. This study analyzes Rohis strategies in shaping students' religious attitudes, identifies supporting and inhibiting factors, evaluates their effectiveness, and formulates an adaptive da'wah strategy model. A qualitative case study approach was employed. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving Rohis mentors, administrators, members, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and the vice principal for student affairs. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model. The findings show that Rohis applies adaptive da'wah through needs assessment, structured religious guidance, role modeling, religious habituation, participatory cadre development, and persuasive communication. These strategies effectively strengthen students' religious attitudes, Islamic leadership, and school religious culture. The study concludes that effective da'wah depends on strategies tailored to students' needs and proposes an adaptive da'wah model that can serve as a reference for public schools with diverse socio-religious characteristics.

Abstract

The increasing demand for event organizer services in organizing Islamic religious activities requires planned and professional management. This study aims to analyze the implementation of management functions of planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising by We The Fun Organizer in implementing Islamic religious activities in Medan City, using a qualitative approach of field research. Data were obtained from interviews with Fauzi Iswandi as the owner and key informant, supplemented by observation and documentation (event proposals, rundowns, evaluation reports) to strengthen data validity, then analyzed through data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that planning includes determining concepts, targets, schedules, and technical requirements; organization is realized through the division of team tasks; implementation is supported by coordination and technical readiness; while supervision is carried out during and after the activity through evaluation. Obstacles encountered include changes in client requests, weather, delays, and changes in the schedule, which are overcome through intensive communication, team direction, and alternative plans. These findings confirm that the implementation of integrated management functions supports the implementation of structured, adaptive, and professional Islamic religious activities

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the management of religious instructors in developing da'wah among the Muslim minority community in Silima Pungga-Pungga District, Dairi Regency. The study employs a qualitative approach with a hermeneutic phenomenological design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving five purposively selected informants, including religious instructors, the Head of the Religious Affairs Office (KUA), religious leaders, community leaders, and village officials. Data were analyzed interpretively to identify key themes related to the planning, organization, implementation, and supervision of da'wah activities. The findings show that management begins with mapping community needs through social gatherings, data collection, and identification of target groups. Planning is developed through annual and monthly work programs, while implementation involves religious instructors, KUA, BKM, mosque youth, religious leaders, and village authorities. Da'wah activities include TPA, Majelis Taklim, religious lectures, convert guidance, and personal-cultural approaches. Supervision is conducted through performance reports, attendance records, documentation, evaluation meetings, and field monitoring. The main challenges include limited instructors, geographical distance, fluctuating community participation, and inadequate facilities. Participatory, adaptive, and community-based management is essential for sustaining da'wah activities and strengthening the Islamic identity of Muslim minority communities

Abstract

The high divorce rate in Medang Deras District, Batu Bara Regency, necessitates an active role for the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) in family guidance. This study aims to describe the KUA's dakwah (religious outreach) management in efforts to prevent divorce and to identify opportunities and challenges in fostering marital relationships. A qualitative field research approach was employed. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the Head of the KUA, religious extension officers, and couples participating in marriage guidance sessions. The results indicate that the KUA's (dakwah) management is implemented through planning, organizing, executing, and evaluating functions within marriage guidance, religious outreach, and family counseling programs, utilizing persuasive and educational approaches. Program implementation is supported by institutional policies, the role of religious extension officers, and the use of media; however, challenges persist, including economic issues, the KUA's limited authority in handling divorce cases, and the lack of readiness among some couples for married life.

Abstract

This study examines social responsibility toward orphans based on the thematic interpretation of QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 220. It aims to analyze how families and communities fulfill their responsibilities toward orphans through the values of islāh and brotherhood contained in the Qur’anic verse. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach combined with thematic interpretation. The participants consisted of six orphan informants and eight adult informants representing caregiver families, neighborhood officials, mosque administrators, religious study groups, and the wider community. Data were collected through in depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed through coding, reduction, presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification, with source and method triangulation used to ensure validity. The findings show that families play a primary role in fulfilling orphans’ basic needs, supporting their education, providing emotional care, and offering religious guidance. Meanwhile, community support is provided through financial assistance, food, social attention, and religious activities. However, community assistance remains largely incidental and dependent on particular occasions. Overall, the values of islāh and brotherhood have been practiced in caring for orphans, but these practices have not yet developed into structured, sustainable, and coordinated social responsibility. This study provides a practical basis for strengthening family and community based orphan support programs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the da'wah management function in the spiritual development program at the Class I Medan LPKA, identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation, and examine its contribution to strengthening the religious character of foster children. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation with the Head of the Development Section, religious instructors, and three foster children. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model through data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the spiritual development program has implemented the functions of planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring, although the planning is not supported by documented material guidelines and supervision is not accompanied by systematic evaluation. The program is supported by cooperation with the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the commitment of religious instructors, and good interpersonal relationships between mentors and foster children, while obstacles include low initial motivation of foster children, psychological conditions, and a suboptimal program evaluation system. The spiritual development program contributes to shaping the religious character of foster children through habituation of worship, emotional control, and increased spiritual closeness.

Abstract

The initial post-conversion phase is a critical period for new Muslims, who often face psychological challenges, social isolation, and limited religious understanding. Unlike previous studies that focused on strategies for strengthening the faith and Islamic identity of new Muslims, this study analyzes the implementation of the planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising (POAC) da'wah management functions in the worship mentoring program at the Mualaf Center Indonesia Peduli (MCIP) Medan Regional Office. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with two purposively selected key informants, through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results show that MCIP Medan Regional Office implements an adaptive management system, including priority-based planning for basic worship materials, organizing mentors based on competency, implementing humanistic and dialogical mentoring, and supervision through administrative monitoring and learning evaluation. The implementation of these four management functions contributes to increasing religious understanding and independence in the worship of new Muslims. This study confirms that adaptive da'wah management plays a crucial role in supporting the sustainability of the worship mentoring program and offers a management model that can be replicated by other convert mentoring institutions in urban areas

Abstract

Student religious discipline in madrasas is influenced by the role of the principal in designing and managing religious programs. This study analyzes the role of the principal of the Islamic Senior High School of Rohani Ikhwanul Muslimin in shaping student religious discipline through a spiritual leadership approach, including the programs implemented, obstacles, efforts, and their impacts. The study used a qualitative method with data collection through interviews, observation, documentation, and literature review. Informants consisted of the madrasah principal, two teachers, and two students using a purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the religious program is managed through a plan-do-check-act cycle, including congregational Dhuha and Zuhur prayers, memorization (tahfidz), al-Ma'tsurat every Friday, and overnight stays during Ramadan. Obstacles found include low awareness among some students, honesty issues, and resistance to raids. Efforts made include prayer attendance sheets, individual coaching, raids, active student involvement, mandatory memorization (tahfidz), and mentoring by religious teachers during overnight stays. The impact is that the habit of missing worship has decreased, discipline in congregational prayers has increased, and student participation in memorization, al-Ma'tsurat, and overnight stays has increased without coercion. This research is expected to be a reference in developing effective da'wah programs through strengthening spiritual leadership and systematic management

Abstract

Mosques function not only as places of worship, but also as centers for da'wah, education, and community empowerment, the optimization of which depends on the planned management of Islamic programs. The Al Muhtadin Mosque Prosperity Agency (BKM) of Binjai City implements da'wah management systematically, however, studies that examine the four functions of da'wah management (planning, organizing, implementing, supervising) in their entirety and their contribution to the quality of congregational religiosity in community-based mosques are still limited. This study aims to analyze the implementation of these functions and their contribution to improving the quality of congregational religiosity. The research used a qualitative field research approach with a case study design. Informants included the mosque head, the head of the Islamic affairs division, and the head of the Islamic affairs division. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model. The results show that planning is carried out through deliberation, organization through a clear division of tasks, implementation through Islamic programs involving administrators and congregants, and supervision through regular monitoring and evaluation. These four functions contribute to increased congregational participation, youth development, social awareness, and strengthening the mosque's function as a center for preaching, education, and community empowerment

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of HR managementplanning, recruitment, development, organization, and evaluation at the Islamic propagation institution of Al-Quddus Mosque, Medan City, using a descriptive qualitative method through interviews, observation, and documentation with BKM and propagation division administrators, analyzed via Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña's interactive model. Findings show that recruitment remains informal, relying on kinship networks and community leaders' recommendations, while evaluation is conducted through routine deliberations without measurable performance indicators. Religious motivation and administrators' enthusiasm for service are the main supporting factors, whereas limited active administrators, members' busy schedules, and an unstructured cadre system are the key challenges. The study concludes that spiritual values underpin the sustainability of the mosque's HR management, though a more open recruitment system and systematic cadre development are needed to reduce dependence on internal networks.
