Primera Educatia Mandalika: Elementary Education Journal is a scientific journal that publishes various manuscripts discussing scientific development, education and learning in elementary schools and early childhood education which is managed by the Magister Pendidikan Dasar Study Program, FKIP, Universitas Mataram. Abstract

In the world of education, a leader is required to be able to provide motivation to teachers/education personnel so that they have the enthusiasm to carry out their duties in order to educate the nation's children in accordance with the national education goals stated in the 1945 Constitution. These goals can be achieved, if in a teacher's learning process has intrinsic motivation. The principal should be able to provide external motivation that can encourage teachers to work seriously. The aim of the research is to determine the leadership behavior of the Principal towards teacher work motivation. The method used is a qualitative descriptive technique, then data is collected through a field survey by creating an instrument on the Google Form application. The research period was carried out from March-April 2024. The research results showed that the respondents who responded consisted of 81.4% women and 8.6% men. Based on the survey results regarding the instrument, a pleasant boss can encourage oneself to work well, getting the highest response, namely 79.5%. Then a conducive work environment, availability of facilities and infrastructure to motivate oneself, received the second highest response, namely 79.1%. This means that a pleasant boss and a conducive work environment have a very strong influence in increasing teacher work motivation. Meanwhile, the influence of incentives/honorariums had varying responses from very strong (49.9%), this means that almost 50% of respondents stated that honorariums could influence the emergence of very strong motivation within themselves. As many as 29.5% stated that they had a strong influence, meaning honorariums/ Incentives also have a strong influence on generating self-motivation. There are variations in responses to the influence of honorariums because each individual has a different response when given incentives, because each individual has different financial levels and needs. Conclusion: A conducive work environment, availability of facilities and infrastructure can increase self-motivation, which has a very strong influence among other survey results, namely 79.1%. Another factor that can influence teacher work motivation besides a conducive work environment is honorarium/incentives.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi secara komprehensif berbagai aspek dalam pendekatan tematik, terutama dari sisi peluang, tantangan, dan implementasi praktisnya di lapangan, sehingga dapat menjadi dasar dalam merumuskan kebijakan pendidikan yang lebih efektif dan relevan dengan kondisi nyata di sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif melalui penelitian deskriptif. Sasaran yang dituju dalam penelitian ini adalah guru kelas. Tekhnik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini melalui kegiatan observasi dan wawancara. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah pendekatan tematik sangat membantu siswa dalam memahami materi secara lebih kontekstual dan menyeluruh melalui tema-tema yang relevan dengan kehidupan. Tantangan utama dalam penerapan pendekatan tematik adalah kesulitan dalam menyusun RPP yang mengintegrasikan kompetensi dasar dari berbagai mata pelajaran dan keterbatasan sarana pendukung pembelajaran. Observasi terhadap sesi pembelajaran menunjukkan bahwa meskipun siswa antusias dan aktif, terdapat tantangan dalam transisi antar aktivitas dan penilaian yang masih bersifat umum. Penerapan pendekatan tematik dapat menciptakan suasana belajar yang menarik dan relevan, tetapi efektivitasnya bergantung pada kesiapan guru, penggunaan media yang tepat, dan strategi penilaian yang terstruktur.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model using the Octopus Addition media in Mathematics learning at SDN 1 Terong Tawah. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects were 28 third-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results showed that the implementation of the TGT model using the Octopus Addition media worked well, following the learning syntax, which included class presentations, teamwork, games, tournaments, and group awards. Students demonstrated high levels of activity and enthusiasm throughout the learning process, both during group discussions and during academic games and tournaments. The use of the Octopus Addition media helped students understand the concept of addition more concretely and visually. Thus, the TGT learning model using the Octopus Addition media can be an effective alternative Mathematics learning strategy to increase elementary school students’ engagement, motivation, and understanding of addition.

Abstract

The Independent Curriculum is an effort to reform the world of education that aims to provide a more meaningful and relevant learning experience for students. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at SD N Jagalampeni 04, and to identify the challenges and solutions faced in its implementation. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, through in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and classroom observations. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in this school is running well, with an emphasis on project-based learning and differentiation that allows students to learn according to their style and pace. The advantages of implementing this curriculum are seen in increasing student engagement, character development, and social skills. However, there are several obstacles, such as limited internet access, lack of technology training for teachers, and inadequate facilities and infrastructure. The solutions proposed to overcome these obstacles include intensive training for teachers, increasing access to technology, and providing offline learning materials. In conclusion, the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at SD N Jagalampeni 04 has a positive impact on learning, although further support is needed to overcome the existing challenges.
