Abstract

Hypertension in pregnant women and Women of Reproductive Age remains a significant health problem in West Java Province. The prevalence of hypertension among pregnant women in West Java is approximately 10.57%, higher than the national rate of 6.18%, while the prevalence among WRA ranges from 25% to 30%. This study employed a pretest–posttest design with health counseling provided to 25 pregnant women and Women of Reproductive Age in RW 05, Kertamaya Subdistrict, Bogor City. Data were collected using knowledge and attitude questionnaires before and after the counseling and analyzed using the Paired Sample T-test. The results showed a significant increase in participants’ average knowledge and attitude scores after the educational intervention (p < 0.05). Based on the Paired T-test, the intervention yielded a p-value of 0.000, indicating a statistically significant improvement in both knowledge and attitudes. These findings demonstrate that health education is effective in increasing knowledge and fostering positive attitudes regarding hypertension among pregnant women and Women of Reproductive Age.

Abstract

World Health Organization (WHO) reports that immunization is able to prevent approximately 3–5 million deaths each year; however, a number of children still do not receive optimal immunization coverage due to insufficient parental knowledge. This study aimed to analyze the effect of health education on improving mothers’ knowledge regarding early childhood immunization in RW 04, Kertamaya Subdistrict, Bogor City, in 2026. This study employed a pre- experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach involving 30 respondents. Knowledge levels were measured using a questionnaire before and after the health education intervention and analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test. The results indicated a statistically significant difference in mothers’knowledge levels before and after the health education intervention (p = 0.029). In addition, the proportion of respondents with good knowledge increased from 76.7% in the pre-test to 93.3% in the post-test. These findings demonstrate that health education has a significant effect on improving mothers’ knowledge and can serve as an effective promotive intervention to support the success of community-level immunization programs.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and gout are increasingly common health problems in the community. Lack of public awareness of the importance of regular health checks means many cases of NCDs go undetected in their early stages. This initiative aims to detect risk factors for NCDs early by conducting basic health checks in the community. The methods used include anthropometric measurements and simple health checks, such as weight, height, blood pressure, blood sugar, uric acid levels, cholesterol levels, waist circumference, and hip circumference. The results showed that some people still had test results above normal limits. These include blood sugar levels greater than or equal to 200 mg/dL, blood pressure greater than or equal to 140/90 mmHg, high uric acid levels greater than or equal to 7 mg/dL in men and 6 mg/dL in women, and cholesterol levels greater than or equal to 200 mg/dL. These findings indicate the existence of risk factors for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) that require attention and follow-up through health education and routine check-ups. These early detection activities help raise public awareness of the importance of regular health check-ups as a way to prevent and control NCDs early.

Abstract

Emergency services require nurses with the ability to respond quickly, accurately, and according to standards in handling trauma and cardiac arrest. One way to increase capacity is through Basic Trauma Cardiac Life Support (BTCLS) training. This community service program aims to improve nurses' skills and knowledge in handling emergency situations through BTCLS training. The implementation method uses a participatory-educational approach that includes preparation, pre-tests, theoretical presentations, skills demonstrations, case simulations, hands-on practice, and post-tests. The number of participants in the activity was 32 nurses from healthcare facilities. Evaluation was conducted by measuring knowledge and observing participants' skills before and after the training. The results of the activity showed that the average knowledge score of participants increased from 52.4 to 86.7 after the training. In addition, participants' skills in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway management, triage, and trauma management showed significant improvements. Participants also showed increased confidence when facing emergency situations. BTCLS training has been proven to be successful in improving nurses' abilities in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. This program is expected to be implemented continuously as part of improving the quality of health services and patient safety

Abstract

Reproductive health is an aspect of health that still requires serious attention, particularly for women of reproductive age. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder with a prevalence of 3.4% among women worldwide, yet it often goes undetected due to a lack of awareness. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of women of reproductive age regarding menstruation, PCOS, and the importance of early detection through an educational webinar titled “Hormone Talk: Exploring Menstruation, PCOS, and the Importance of Early Detection.” The event was held online via the Zoom Meeting platform on December 13, 2025, and was attended by over 100 participants, the majority of whom were female students. The evaluation method utilized pre-tests and post-tests analyzed using a Dependent T-test. The results showed a significant increase in the average knowledge score from 64.78 (pre-test) to 79.67 (post-test), with a difference of 14.89 points and a p-value of 0.000. This demonstrates that reproductive health educational webinars are effective in enhancing participants’ knowledge. It is hoped that this activity can serve as a model for sustainable digital-based health promotion interventions in efforts to improve reproductive health literacy among Indonesian women.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is one of the most common health problems among primary school–aged children and may interfere with the learning process as well as children’s overall health status. This community service activity aimed to improve primary school students’ knowledge and awareness regarding ARI prevention through the implementation of the Faculty of Medicine Teaching Movement. The methods used were interactive lectures and demonstrations tailored to the characteristics of primary school children, including education on ARI, proper cough and sneeze etiquette, and correct handwashing practices. The community service program was conducted in three stages: planning and preparation, implementation, and evaluation and monitoring. The activity involved collaboration between lecturers and medical students from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang, who served as health education facilitators. The evaluation results showed a significant improvement in students’ knowledge, with the proportion of students in the good knowledge category increasing from 47.4% before the intervention to 78.9% after the intervention, along with an increase in the mean score of 28.4 points (p < 0.05). This activity not only enhanced students’ understanding of ARI prevention but also strengthened the role of medical students in field-based learning and promoted the development of health awareness within the school and family environment.

Abstract

Emotional intelligence (EI) is an essential competency for early childhood education (ECE) teachers in fostering supportive and emotionally responsive learning environments. However, many ECE teachers in Indonesia have limited access to structured EI training. This community service program aimed to strengthen the emotional intelligence of non-formal ECE teachers from HIMPAUDI Cipayung, East Jakarta, through interactive lectures and reflective practice using Points of You (Flow) cards. The training focused on four EI domains: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. Results showed a substantial improvement in participants’ understanding, with average scores increasing from 30.5 (pre-test) to 90.9 (post-test). Most participants (85%) reported that the training was beneficial and expressed readiness to apply the strategies in classroom practice. Observations also indicated improved teacher confidence in managing children’s emotions and building positive interactions. These findings demonstrate that reflective and experiential EI training effectively enhances ECE teachers’ emotional competencies and supports the creation of a positive social-emotional learning environment.
