Abstract

Parallelization has become a cornerstone technique for optimizing computing performance, especially in addressing the growing complexity and scale of modern computational tasks. By leveraging concurrent processing capabilities of multi-core processors, GPUs, and distributed systems, parallel computing enables the efficient execution of large-scale problems that would otherwise be computationally prohibitive. This paper explores various parallelization techniques, including data parallelism, task parallelism, pipeline parallelism, and the use of GPUs for massive parallel computations. We also examine the key performance evaluation metrics such as speedup, efficiency, Amdahl’s Law, scalability, and load balancing that are critical in assessing the effectiveness of parallelization strategies. Through case studies in scientific simulations, machine learning, and big data analytics, we demonstrate how these techniques can be applied to real-world problems, offering significant improvements in execution time and resource utilization. The paper concludes by discussing the trade-offs involved in parallel computing and suggesting future avenues for optimizing parallelization methods in the context of evolving hardware and software technologies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on students' mathematical problem-solving skills, considering their critical thinking abilities. A quasi-experimental design with a 2x2 treatment-by-level approach was used, involving two groups: one using the PBL model and the other using conventional methods. The subjects were seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 6 Singaraja. Data were collected through tests on mathematical problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. The results show that the PBL model significantly affects mathematical problem-solving skills, particularly for students with high critical thinking abilities. Students in the PBL group had an average score of 79.9, higher than those in the conventional group, who scored 56.6 on average. Moreover, the interaction between the teaching model and critical thinking abilities significantly influenced the outcomes. However, for students with low critical thinking abilities, the PBL model did not have a significant impact on their mathematical problem-solving skills. This study concludes that the PBL model is effective in improving problem-solving skills in students with high critical thinking abilities but may need adjustments for students with lower critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The work culture revolution has become one of the most profound phenomena in the development of human resource management (HR) in the modern era. One of the biggest impacts of this change is the emergence of remote work flexibility and global collaboration, which is further changing the dynamics of the workplace. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of the work culture revolution on human resource management (HR) in the era of remote work flexibility and global collaboration. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to analyze the work culture revolution in human resource management (HR) in the era of remote work flexibility and global collaboration. The results of this study show that the work culture revolution that includes remote work flexibility and global collaboration has brought significant changes in human resource (HR) management. Work flexibility has been shown to improve employees' well-being and job satisfaction, giving them more control over the balance of their personal and professional lives. However, the main challenge that arises is how companies can manage the performance of employees who work remotely, especially in terms of performance measurement, productivity monitoring, and ensuring effective communication within teams spread across multiple locations and time zones. Large companies, which are more accustomed to adopting advanced technology, are more successful in addressing these challenges compared to smaller companies, which still rely on a physical presence-based approach. Data from this study reinforces those findings in terms of performance management systems, 78% of large companies have switched to results-based systems, while 55% of small companies still rely on physical presence to monitor employee performance. In addition, platforms such as Zoom (78%) and Microsoft Teams (65%) dominate the use for remote collaboration, indicating that technology plays an important role in facilitating communication across locations and time zones. On the other hand, companies that pay more attention to the mental well-being of employees, by providing online counseling services and wellness programs, tend to have higher engagement rates. This can be seen from 60% of companies that provide mental health support to their employees.
