The increasing global demand for strawberries as a high-value crop requires effective management strategies for pests and diseases that can significantly reduce yields. This research develops an expert system to diagnose strawberry pests and diseases using the Certainty Factor (CF) method, utilizing data from previous studies to improve the accuracy and reliability of the diagnosis. The system integrates symptoms and CF values from two main studies and provides treatment recommendations that can be applied to the identified problems. The results show that in the trial on powdery mildew fungus, which has 4 symptoms, it can have the highest confidence value of 0.99977848. For other diseases themselves will have different confidence values according to the calculation of the CF value of each symptom. This approach provides a valuable tool for farmers with limited access to expert consultation, helping to improve decision-making and reduce economic losses. Performance analysis of the system shows its potential to support sustainable strawberry cultivation.

This study aims to analyze the impact of boycott calls on consumer loyalty and purchase decisions for products affiliated with Israel, as well as the role of brand image in these relationships. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, utilizing quantitative data collected through questionnaires and qualitative data through interviews. The findings indicate that boycott calls have a positive influence on consumer loyalty and purchase decisions, suggesting that some consumers remain loyal and continue to purchase despite the boycott pressure. Additionally, brand image was found to have a negative impact on consumer loyalty, though loyalty remains stable despite the boycott pressure. Consumer loyalty also serves as a mediator, influencing purchase decisions even in the presence of boycott calls. This study provides insights into the complex dynamics between boycott calls, brand image, loyalty, and purchasing decisions within the context of sensitive social and political issues.

This study explores the relationship between remote work, employee productivity, and work-life balance, with a specific focus on the mediating role of work-life balance. Given the rise of remote work in various sectors, particularly in the IT industry, it becomes crucial to understand how remote work influences employee productivity and how work-life balance may play a central role in this relationship. A quantitative, cross-sectional design was used, surveying 110 IT professionals from Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. A pre-tested Likert scale questionnaire collected data, measuring variables such as work-life balance, employee productivity, and remote work. Descriptive analysis revealed that most respondents worked remotely (42.7%) or in a hybrid setup (37.3%). While the mean score for work-life balance (3.45) suggested a generally positive perception of remote work's role in balancing personal and professional lives, challenges like difficulty disconnecting and burnout were noted. Employee productivity ratings highlighted that work-life balance positively impacted productivity (mean = 3.83). The remote work factor demonstrated moderate satisfaction with tools, communication, and goal clarity but indicated areas for improvement, especially in technical support (mean for remote work = 3.55). Correlation analysis showed strong positive relationships between work-life balance, remote work, and employee productivity (p < 0.01). The study concludes that work-life balance acts as a key mediator between remote work and productivity, underscoring its importance in fostering an efficient remote working environment. Though employees report a generally positive view of remote work’s ability to provide flexibility, issues with communication and technical support may hinder overall productivity. Thus, improving these areas could maximize remote work's benefits.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming industries worldwide, creating both opportunities and challenges for IT professionals. This study examines the perceptions of AI among IT professionals in Kathmandu, focusing on job opportunities, threats, and the moderating role of Technology Literacy (TL). The research adopts a descriptive and causal-comparative design within the positivist paradigm, emphasizing measurable and objective data. A structured questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale was distributed via Google Forms to 128 IT professionals in Kathmandu. Descriptive statistics indicated that IT professionals generally have a moderate level of Technology Literacy (mean scores ranging from 2.39 to 2.78). AI was perceived favorably, with mean scores between 3.02 and 3.39. However, perceived threats from AI were moderate (mean scores from 2.33 to 2.60), suggesting concerns about job security. Perceived opportunities were also moderate (mean scores between 2.38 and 2.81), indicating a balanced view of AI’s potential benefits and risks. Correlation and regression analyses revealed that Technology Literacy significantly moderates the relationship between AI and job opportunities, as well as AI and threats, suggesting that higher TL mitigates fears and enhances positive perceptions of AI. The study highlights the dual impact of AI on IT professionals, with both opportunities and threats being perceived at moderate levels. Technology Literacy plays a crucial role in shaping these perceptions, underscoring the need for continuous learning and adaptation in the IT sector.

Organizations operate in increasingly complex environments, requiring adaptive strategies to balance internal rationality with external demands. This study uses Thompson’s (1967) contingency theory to examine how organizations structure themselves in response to environmental uncertainty and technological complexity, integrating insights from resource dependence and institutional theory. Qualitative case studies and quantitative survey data were analyzed using a mixed-methods approach. Technology, healthcare, and manufacturing case studies included semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and observations. A survey of organizational leaders and employees provided quantitative data on structural flexibility, uncertainty, technological complexity, and performance outcomes. Statistical analyses were applied, including regression and structural equation modelling (SEM). Findings reveal that organizations facing high uncertainty adopt flexible structures, while those with complex technologies decentralize decision-making to foster innovation. Institutional pressures also drive organizations to engage in symbolic actions to demonstrate compliance. Integrating qualitative and quantitative data highlighted how technical demands and institutional norms shape adaptation strategies. This study underscores the importance of aligning organizational structure with environmental and technological needs, as contingency theory suggests. However, institutional factors also shape adaptation, making it a multifaceted process. The research contributes to administrative theory by integrating multiple perspectives and offers practical insights for leaders navigating complex environments.
