Abstract

Drug abuse is a serious problem that threatens the future of adolescents in Indonesia, including in Sidenreng Rappang Regency (Sidrap). Adolescents are vulnerable due to environmental, family, and social factors. The purpose of this study was to analyze drug prevention programs and the risk factors associated with drug abuse among adolescents in Sidrap. This study used a mixed-method sequential explanatory design, beginning with a quantitative survey of 200 high school/vocational school adolescents and continuing with in-depth interviews with religious leaders, teachers, National Narcotics Agency (BNN) officers, and adolescents. The quantitative analysis showed that the main risk factors significantly associated with drug abuse were peer influence (p<0.05), poor family communication (p<0.05), and insufficient knowledge about the dangers of drugs (p<0.05). Meanwhile, qualitative findings revealed that existing prevention programs, such as school counseling and BNN campaigns, have not been optimal due to limited resources and low family involvement. The study's conclusions emphasize that drug prevention efforts must be implemented holistically through synergy between the government, schools, religious leaders, and families.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic poses a major challenge to the health of pregnant women. The level of knowledge of pregnant women about COVID-19 is thought to be related to their compliance with health protocols. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of pregnant women about COVID-19 and their compliance with health protocols during pregnancy. The research method used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of pregnant women who underwent pregnancy check-ups at health care facilities, with the sample size determined through purposive sampling. The results showed that pregnant women with a high level of knowledge tended to be more compliant in following health protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and washing hands compared to pregnant women with low knowledge. In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between pregnant women's knowledge level about COVID-19 and their compliance with health protocols.

Abstract

Endophytic fungi are microorganisms that live within plant tissues without causing disease symptoms. This study aimed to identify endophytic fungi associated with traditional medicinal plants in South Sulawesi that may produce bioactive compounds. The research was exploratory in nature, isolating fungi from leaves and stems using Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) medium, and identifying them based on macroscopic and microscopic morphological characteristics. The results revealed the presence of several genera of endophytic fungi, including Aspergillus, Penicillium, Fusarium, and Trichoderma. These findings indicate the significant potential of endophytic fungi in the development of biotechnology-based traditional medicines.

Wasting is a public health issue that must be noticed. Wasting is an acute malnutrition which could indirectly cause of death in children. Under two children are the vulnerable group where the speed of growth and brain development is very rapid. The purpose of this study was to know effect of milk and “Pedoman Gizi Seimbang Pangan Lokal (PGS-PL)” education to nutritional status of under two children with wasting. This research was a research study of secondary data analysis with quasi-experimental primary research design. Group A as control (n=31) were given “Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF)” education, group B (n=25) were given milk and IYFC education and group C were given PGS-PL education for 90 days. The result showed significant (p>0.05) changes in WLZ before and after intervention in group 1 and 4, except group 5. Group 4 have changes nutritional status was higher compared other groups. Recommended consider for milk growth formula 1-3 years as one of the interventions in the PMT program give to children with wasting.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the strategy for stunting prevention and management in Uwen Pantai Village, Taniwel Timur District, West Seram Regency, based on Presidential Regulation No. 72 of 2021 concerning the acceleration of stunting reduction. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings show that the implementation of stunting prevention strategies in the village is supported by several key elements: the existence of a well-organized integrated team, community involvement, and cross-sector collaboration. However, challenges remain, such as limited health facilities, lack of public awareness, and insufficient budget allocation. The local government and village apparatus have made efforts through nutrition counseling, provision of supplementary food, and health service outreach. The study concludes that although the strategy is in line with the national framework, there is a need for improvement in inter-sectoral coordination, capacity building for local health workers, and the use of accurate data for program planning. It is recommended that further research focus on the role of community empowerment in sustaining stunting prevention programs in rural and remote areas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of community perceptions on the quality of health services at the Suli Public Health Center. Using a quantitative approach with a sample of 73 respondents, data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The research instruments were proven valid and reliable, with Cronbach’s Alpha values of 0.876 and 0.902. The classical assumption tests normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity were fulfilled, validating the feasibility of linear regression analysis. The results of the simple linear regression show a positive and significant relationship between community perception and service quality, with a regression coefficient of 0.453. The t-test and F-test results also confirm the significance of this influence, with p-values less than 0.05. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.242, indicating that 24.2% of the variation in service quality can be explained by community perception. The findings highlight the important role of community perception in shaping the quality of health services, and suggest that future service improvements should consider public opinion as a key factor.

Abstract

This study examines how the dominance of bureaucratic structures influences innovation in public service delivery within governmental institutions. Using the analytical framework of Franpoort’s Theory, which conceptualizes bureaucracy as a system of formal structures, hierarchy, procedures, and control mechanisms, this research investigates whether these elements hinder or enable innovation in public organizations. Employing a qualitative case study approach in selected Indonesian public service units, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that highly rigid bureaucratic structures tend to suppress flexibility, discourage individual initiatives, and slow down the adoption of new ideas. However, when bureaucratic dominance is balanced with supportive organizational culture and innovative leadership, bureaucracy can serve as a framework that stabilizes and sustains innovation. This study contributes to public administration theory by reinterpreting bureaucratic dominance through Franpoort’s perspective, emphasizing that bureaucracy and innovation are not necessarily contradictory but can be complementary under adaptive institutional arrangements. The results highlight the need for structural reform and leadership strategies that foster creativity, cross-functional collaboration, and responsive governance in public service delivery.
