Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of Skeletonema costatum meal utilization in various doses to substitute fish meal in shrimp diet (Penaeus vannamei) on activity of protease and amilase enzyme. Tested diets were formulated isoprotein of 37 % and iso energy of 3,6 kkal/g diet. The experiment used Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and three replications. The treatments were doses of skeletonema meal in order to substitute fish meal in diets. The doses of fish meal substitution by skeletonema meal were A = 0%; B 2,5%; C = 5%; and D 7,5%. The best dosage was determined by using regression analysis. The result of the experiment showed that enzyme activity of protease and amilase increased significantly during the experiment. The regression analysis show that the best dosage of skeletonema meal to subtitute fish meal in shrimp diets based on enzym activity were 4,07% for protease and 4,02% for amilase

Abstract

Phytate content which is considered as anti-nutritional factors has been frequently associated with plant-based diets. One way to dealt with this issue is by supplementation of exogenous phytase-producing bacteria. Thus, this study was aimed at detection and quantification of phytase-producing bacteria from the gastrointestinal tract of cultured Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and wild tilapia. The result showed that phytase-producing bacteria were only detected from the gastrointestinal tract of cultured tilapia, while none was observed from the wild tilapia. Total viable count (TVC) of bacteria associated with the gastrointestinal tract of cultured Tilapia was recorded at 7.8 x 107 CFU/g, and the number of phytase-producing bacteria were counted for 2.6 x 106 CFU/g or about 3.31%. This research result indicated the presence of phytase-producing bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract of Nile tilapia. However, further research is still required to quantify the amount and activity of phytase in the intestinal tract of the fish. In addition, those phytase-producing bacteria should be identified in order to track where the bacteria came from.

Abstract

Research objective was to determine the effect of different stocking densities on survival and growth of Banggai Cardinal Fish (BCF) (Pteropogon kaurdeni) in controlled containers. The study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design consisting of three treatment densities namely treatment A 0.833 ind / l, treatment B 1.667 ind / l, and treatment C 2.5 ind / l. Each treatment was repeated four times. The result shows that the different stocking densities effect significantly to the survival rate and daily growth rate of BCF, but do not effect significantly to the growth and length gain of BCF. The survival rate of BCF in treatment A gives the highest result (80%) and be followed by treatment B (78%) and treatment C (54%). In addition, the highest daily growth rate of BCF is found in treatment B (0,689%) and this is followed by treatment C (0,614%) and A (0,608% ).

Abstract

Fission merupakan sistem reproduksi aseksual teripang (Holothuria atra) dengan cara pembelahan bagian tubuh yang dapat membentuk individu baru sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif perbanyakan individu teripang.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan berat tubuh teripang terhadap tingkat kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhan teripang hasil fission.Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan Kontrol (150-350 gram/ tanpa fission), P1 (150 gram), P2 (250 gram) dan P3 (350 gram). Data uji analisis menggunakan ANOVA dengan taraf 5% untuk mengetahui perlakuan terbaik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukan perbedaan berat tubuh teripang memberikan pengaruh terhadap tingkat kelangsungan hidup namun tidak meberikan pertumbuhan terhadap benih teripang hasl fission. Kelangsungan Hidup tertinggi didapat pada perlakuan Kontrol (100%) dan P2 (72,22%). Sedangkan untuk pengamatan morfologis dan Fisiologis teripang memberikan hasil yang berbeda setiap minggunya.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan getah pepaya pada pakan pelet terhadap pertumbuhan berat mutlak, efisiensi pakan, kecernaan total dan kelangsungan hidup ikan mas. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan : pakan tanpa penambahan getah (P0), penambahan getah 1% (P1), penambahan getah 2% (P2), penambahan getah 2,5% (P3), penambahan getah 3% (P4) dari bobot pakan yang diberikan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dengan taraf nyata 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan getah pepaya pada pakan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini tidak memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan berat mutlak, efisiensi pakan, kecernaan total, dan kelangsungan hidup ikan mas. Akan tetapi, pertumbuhan berat mutlak, efisiensi pakan dan kecernaan total ikan mas yang diberi pakan dengan penambahan getah pepaya 1% memberikannilai yang cenderung lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan perlakuan yang lain.

Abstract

Udang vaname merupakan salah satu jenis udang yang banyak dibudidayakan di Indonesia. Udang ini banyak digemari dan memiliki nilai ekonomis yang cukup tinggi, bahkan menjadi primadona dari Indonesia. Akan tetapi, kegiatan budidaya udang menghadapi permasalahan terkait faktor lingkungan, penyakit, pertumbuhan yang lambat, serta kematian massal. Hal ini berakibat menurunkan tingkat produktivitas udang vaname. Salah satu pendekatan alternatif yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut yaitu dengan penambahan prebiotik pada pakan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan prebiotik yang berbeda pada pakan terhadap pertumbuhan udang vaname (Litopanaeus vannamei). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yaitu dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan, perlakuannya adalah Kontrol K ( pakan tanpa prebiotik), P1 (pakan pellet dengan penambahan prebiotik ubi 2%), P2 (pakan pellet dengan penambahan prebiotik kentang 2%), P3 ( pakan pellet dengan penambahan prebiotik ubi 1% dan kentang 1%). Data yang diperoleh dianalisa menggunakan analysis of variance (ANOVA) dengan tingkat signifikan 5%. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara perlakuannya untuk tingkat laju pertumbuhan spesifik, bobot mutlak, rasio konversi pakan, dan pertumbuhan mutlak.

Abstract

Budidaya belut yang umum digunakan selama ini adalah menggunakan substrat lumpur, namun terdapat beberapa kelemahan dalam metode ini baik dari segi waktu persiapan yang lama dan sulitnya dalam pemantauan. Salah satu solusinya adalah penggunaan media air jernih sebagai media pemeliharaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ketinggian air terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup belut sawah tanpa substrat. Belut yang digunakan memiliki bobot rata-rata 19,38±1,30 gram dan panjang rata-rata 6,78±1,01 cm yang dipelihara selama 70 hari masa pemeliharaan dalam dua ketinggian air yang berbeda, yaitu (A) 3 cm dan (B) 5 cm. Berdasarkan hasil Uji t bebas menunjukkan perlakuan B memberikan pertumbuhan panjang mutlak yang lebih tinggi dengan nilai 2,24 cm serta kelangsungan hidup sekitar 80%. Namun tidak ada perbedaan nyata (P>0,05) pada pertumbuhan bobot mutlak (2,47-2,83 gram) dan laju pertumbuhan bobot spesifik (0,45-050%). Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the formulation of bran and copra meal which produced the highest growth of Daphnia magna. The research use Complete Random Design method that consist of 5 treatments and repeated 3 times. All containers are filled with 2 liters of water with a density of Daphnia magna which is 20 ind/l. Treatment A: giving 100% bran, treatment B: giving 75% bran and 25%, copra meal, treatment C: giving 50% bran and 50% copra meal, treatment D: giving 25% bran and 75% copra meal and treatment E: giving 100% copra meal. The results showed that all treatments have a significant effect on population growth, but do not have on biomass production and death phase. Giving 50% bran and 50% copra meal is the best formulation compared to other treatments with a total density of 173,33 ind/l.

Abstract

The aim of study was to determine the effect of feeding apple snails on the growth and survival of sand lobster (panulirus homarus). The experiment used Completely Randomized Design with five different treatments. The treatments were P1 (100% trash fish as control), P2 (50% trash fish + 50% fresh apple snail), P3 (50% trash fish + 50% processed apple snail), P4 (100% fresh apple snail), and P5 (100% processed apple snail). The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with a significant level of 5% and Duncan test was carried out with a significant level of 5% to find out the best treatment. Based on the results of the study showed that all treatments had a significantly different effect (p<0.05) on absolute growth, specific growth, feed conversion ratio and feed efficiency. Feeding 100% fresh apple snail is the best treatment compared to other treatments.

Abstract

The research aimed to analyze the effect of adding different dose of probiotics on the growth of star pomfret fish (Trachinotus blochii). This research was conducted for 30 days from January 29 th to March 2 nd 2018, at Balai Perikanan Budidaya Laut (BPBL) Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province. The design used in this study were Complete Random Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications, namely: P1 administration of probiotics 25 ml / kg of feed as control, P2 administration of probiotics 30 ml / kg of feed, P3 administration of probiotics 35 ml / kg feed, and P4 giving probiotics 40 ml / kg of feed. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) at a real level of 5% using the SPSS program and Tukey's advanced test was carried out with a 5% significance level to find out the best treatment. The parameters observed were absolute weight growth, absolute length, survival rate and water quality. The results showed that the effect of addition of probiotics significantly effected to the growth and survival of star pomfret seeds (Trachinotus blochii). The probiotics supplementation of 40 ml / kg feed gave best growth of star pomfret seeds (Trachinotus blochii)
