Abstract

Game-based learning models in elementary schools have great potential to improve student learning outcomes. This approach not only facilitates better understanding of the material but also motivates students to be significant. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of game-based learning models in improving student learning outcomes in elementary schools, especially in the context of Indonesian language learning. This study uses a literature study method by collecting secondary data in the form of previous research results that apply game-based learning models. The data analysis method used is content analysis to explore the effectiveness of various game learning models. The results of the study indicate that the application of game learning models such as ESTASI in poetry learning and Teams Games Tournament in thematic learning can significantly improve students' writing skills and their learning outcomes. For example, students involved in the ESTASI game showed increased creativity and participation in writing poetry, while students who participated in the Teams Games Tournament showed increased activity and achievement of learning outcomes. The integration of game learning models in elementary school education promises positive and sustainable results for students' academic development. This approach not only improves students' understanding and skills but also helps maintain their learning motivation. The implication of this research is the importance of implementing varied and interesting learning models to create an effective and enjoyable learning environment for students at the elementary level

Abstract

This study explores the integration of sustainability into maritime education and its alignment with the evolving demands of the maritime industry. The research was motivated by the increasing necessity for maritime professionals to possess both technical expertise and a strong understanding of sustainable practices in response to environmental concerns. Previous studies have emphasized sustainability as a theoretical concept, yet practical insights from maritime professionals, educators, and graduates have been underexplored. The study addresses three key questions: How is sustainability incorporated into maritime curricula? How well do vocational programs match industry needs? How do the perspectives of professionals, educators, and graduates contribute to refining maritime education? A qualitative research approach was used, consisting of interviews with two maritime experts, six educators, and two graduates, complemented by a systematic literature review (SLR) to analyze current trends and gaps. Findings reveal significant progress in sustainability integration, although practical implementation and continuous professional development require further attention. The SLR supported these conclusions, stressing the importance of interdisciplinary curricula. The research concludes that aligning education with industry needs and embedding sustainable practices into programs are crucial for preparing a skilled maritime workforce. Practical recommendations are offered for both educational institutions and the maritime sector, with suggestions for future research on green technologies and ongoing professional development.

Abstract

This study examines the alignment between maritime vocational education and the evolving needs of the maritime industry, particularly focusing on sustainability, technological integration, and industry collaboration. Maritime education is vital for preparing professionals to handle the complexities of port and shipping management, deck and naval operations, and sustainable practices in maritime environments. The research combines qualitative analysis from interviews with ten participants—including maritime professionals, lecturers, and graduates—and a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The objective is to assess how well current maritime education frameworks address industry demands and the integration of emerging concepts such as sustainability and technology. The findings indicate a strong alignment between education and industry needs, particularly in practical training and simulation-based learning. However, gaps persist in the practical application of sustainability concepts and the equitable distribution of technological resources. This study highlights the necessity of deepening collaborations between educational institutions and industry stakeholders to ensure that curricula reflect the latest industry trends and technological advancements. The research also calls for a more consistent application of sustainability principles in maritime training programs. By addressing these challenges, maritime education can significantly enhance graduate readiness and industry relevance. The insights offered have practical implications for educators, policymakers, and industry leaders seeking to improve the quality and impact of maritime vocational education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the process of rehabilitation of educational facilities in improving the quality of learning at MTs Ziyadatut Taqwa. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach carried out through field research. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that rehabilitation of educational facilities has a significant positive impact on the quality of learning. With good and well-maintained educational facilities, students can learn safely and comfortably, concentrate, and increase student motivation and interest in learning. Rehabilitation of educational facilities plays an important role in improving the quality of learning at MTs Ziyadatut Taqwa by involving planning consultants to conduct damage identification mapping, prepare rehabilitation plans, and manage budgets effectively. It can be concluded that rehabilitation of facilities requires a comprehensive strategy in improving the quality of learning, facilitating a more effective education process, and providing a positive learning experience for students and educators

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of understanding of basic Biology concepts among grade XI MIPA students at MA Plus Nurul Islam Sekarbela, particularly on the topic of Plant and Animal Tissues. The background of this research arises from the low level of students’ conceptual understanding in Biology, which often leads them to rely on memorization rather than meaningful comprehension. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through a test consisting of 15 multiple-choice questions and 5 essay questions, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the highest student score was 52.0, the lowest was 16.0, and the average was 31.2, indicating that students’ understanding of tissue concepts remains low. Factors contributing to this low understanding include limited learning resources that rely solely on textbooks, lack of reading and reviewing activities, the teacher’s teaching methods, and individual differences in students’ abilities to grasp concepts. This study is expected to serve as a reference for Biology teachers in designing more effective learning strategies to enhance students’ conceptual understanding.
