Abstract

This study explores the relationship between business strategy, business performance, innovation, and competitive advantage and their impact on customer value for non-apparel textile SMEs in Indonesia. Using Structure Equational Modeling (SEM), it aims to understand how business strategy affects business performance and innovation and how business performance and innovation mediate the relationship between business strategy and competitive advantage. In addition, it investigates the role of competitive advantage as a mediator in increasing customer value. The results show that business strategy has a significant impact on business performance, innovation, and competitive advantage. Competitive advantage proved to be an important mediator in improving customer value. However, business performance and innovation are not always effective in mediating the relationship between business strategy and competitive advantage or customer value. The findings indicate that while business performance and innovation are important, they should be viewed as part of a more holistic approach to business strategy. This research concludes that companies should focus on strategies that integrate competitive advantage through various elements, such as innovation, product quality, and marketing. Good strategic planning and effective implementation are key to achieving and maintaining competitive advantage and increasing customer value. The findings provide important insights into the need for a holistic strategic approach to achieve long-term success in an increasingly competitive market.

Abstract

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) remain a global public health crisis, with the increasing number of cases in Indonesia, including Gorontalo, indicating a lack of public knowledge and high social stigma as major obstacles. Advances in information technology offer significant opportunities for health promotion. HiVisitScreen is a modern, website-based digital platform developed as an educational medium to provide up-to-date information on HIV/AIDS, facilitate safe and confidential health access, and reduce the spread of HIV. This descriptive quantitative study, using a cross-sectional design, aimed to describe user satisfaction with the HiVisitScreen website among 150 active students at Gorontalo State University (UNG). User satisfaction was measured using the 13-item End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) questionnaire. The results show that overall, users were satisfied with the HiVisitScreen website, with a total mean score of 3.45 (Satisfied category). Among the five EUCS dimensions, Ease of Use had the highest mean score of 3.51 (Highly Satisfied category), emphasizing the application's user-friendliness and accessibility. Meanwhile, the Content dimension received the lowest mean score of 3.40 (Satisfied category), indicating that while the information is relevant and clear, improvements are needed in the completeness and suitability of the content to specific user needs, supporting the plan to add prevention features for serodiscordant couples. The HiVisitScreen website has successfully met user expectations and has the potential to function as an effective website-based intervention in HIV case management within the campus environment.

Abstract

Adolescents are a vulnerable group to the risks of sexual violence and HIV transmission due to limited sexual literacy, insufficient access to accurate reproductive health information, and strong socio-cultural taboos surrounding sexuality. Comprehensive interventions are needed to equip adolescents with adequate knowledge, attitudes, and gender-sensitive decision-making skills. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of a PLISSIT-based Comprehensive Sexual Education intervention in improving adolescents’ attitudes toward HIV transmission prevention from a gender equality perspective. This quasi-experimental study involved 100 students selected through simple random sampling and divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received four PLISSIT-based educational sessions integrating gender equality principles, while the control group received conventional sexual education. Data were collected using pre- and post-test questionnaires and analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results showed a substantial improvement in adolescents’ attitudes after the intervention. Prior to the intervention, only 18% of students demonstrated good attitudes toward HIV prevention, while 82% were categorized as poor. After the intervention, 90% of students in the experimental group showed good attitudes, and only 10% remained in the poor category, with a statistically significant difference (p = 0.001). These findings indicate that the PLISSIT-based comprehensive sexual education model is effective in shaping positive attitudes by providing a safe space for discussion, relevant information, and gender-responsive guidance. In conclusion, the PLISSIT-based intervention significantly enhances adolescents’ attitudes toward HIV prevention and can serve as a strategic approach in school-based reproductive health education.

Abstract

HIV/AIDS remains a major public health concern worldwide, and stigma toward People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) continues to hinder prevention and treatment efforts, particularly in regions with limited health literacy. In Gorontalo City, community stigma persists due to misconceptions about HIV transmission, exaggerated fears, and culturally embedded moral judgments that associate HIV with deviant behavior. This study aims to describe the level of community stigma toward PLWHA in Liluwo Village and identify factors contributing to these attitudes. Using an analytical survey with a cross-sectional design, the study involved 185 respondents selected through stratified random sampling. A structured questionnaire assessed respondents’ HIV/AIDS knowledge, religiosity, and stigmatizing attitudes. The findings reveal that 102 respondents (55.1%) demonstrated stigmatizing behaviors, characterized by avoidance of physical contact, reluctance to live near PLWHA, fear of sharing public spaces, and inaccurate beliefs about how HIV is transmitted. Meanwhile, 83 respondents (44.9%) exhibited no stigma, showing higher levels of HIV-related knowledge, a better understanding of scientific facts about transmission, and a more empathetic and inclusive approach toward PLWHA. The variation between these groups highlights the crucial role of health literacy, cultural norms, and access to accurate information in shaping community attitudes. The study concludes that reducing stigma requires comprehensive and continuous educational interventions, targeted health promotion, and active involvement of community and religious leaders to build a more supportive environment for PLWHA. Strengthening public understanding is essential to ensure equitable treatment and improve the well-being of those affected by HIV.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in the financial performance of PT MAP Boga Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPB) before and after the consumer boycott campaign in the 2022–2024 period. The boycott campaign triggered by global geopolitical issues has an impact on the decline of the company's social legitimacy, thus affecting profitability and financial stability. The research method uses a descriptive quantitative approach through the analysis of annual financial statements processed using profitability ratios. The results show a significant downward trend in the entire profitability ratio from 2022 to 2024. In 2022, the entire ratio was in a positive condition, but declined sharply in 2023 and turned negative in 2024; NPM from 4.26% to −4.53%, ROA from 5.67% to −4.93%, ROE from 12.45% to −9.45%, and ROI from 8.37% to −4.87%. These findings indicate that boycott campaigns have a significant effect on declining profitability and show the loss of corporate social legitimacy in the eyes of the public according to the perspective of legitimacy theory.

Abstract

Digital transformation has reshaped the marketing communication paradigm of the banking industry in Indonesia, encouraging financial institutions to adopt creative strategies to reach digital consumers. This study aims to analyze the influence of content marketing, omnichannel marketing, and electronic word of mouth (eWOM) on purchase decisions through brand awareness in BCA’s public service advertisement “Don’t Know Kasih No!”. This banking security education campaign successfully garnered more than 100 million views through its unique storytelling approach, engaging audiovisual elements, and relevant humor, making it an interesting phenomenon to be examined scientifically. This research employs a descriptive quantitative method using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) approach. The research population consists of Indonesian individuals aged 17–40 years (Generation Z and Millennials) who are BCA customers and have been exposed to the “Don’t Know Kasih No.!” advertisement. The sample size was determined using Cochran’s formula, resulting in a minimum of 100 respondents, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using an online questionnaire developed based on a five-point Likert scale containing 47 statement items. Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS 4.0 to evaluate validity, reliability, and structural hypothesis testing.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze population dynamics and the challenges of sustainable development in Indonesia from a social, economic, and environmental perspective. Population dynamics, including population growth, urbanization, internal migration, and changes in demographic structure, have become determining factors in the success of development. The method used is a qualitative approach with a literature review sourced from official documents, scientific journals, and reports from international institutions. The results show that rapid population growth and uncontrolled urbanization have led to spatial inequality, reduced green open space, pressure on public infrastructure, and increased environmental degradation. Furthermore, unpreparedness in spatial planning and weak integration of population data into development policies exacerbate socio-economic imbalances between regions. The shift in demographic structure toward a predominance of the productive age group presents the opportunity for a demographic bonus, but also the risk of a demographic burden if not balanced by improvements in the quality of human resources. This study emphasizes that successful sustainable development requires data-driven, gender-equitable, environmentally friendly, and participatory population policies. The integration of technologies such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial analysis is a strategic step in realizing inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable development for future generations.

Abstract

Accelerating cultural heritage data collection in Serang City is a strategic step in efforts to preserve cultural heritage in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 11 of 2010 concerning Cultural Heritage and Government Regulation Number 1 of 2022 concerning National Registers and Cultural Heritage Preservation, which aims to provide accurate cultural heritage data as a basis for legal protection and preservation policies. Implementation is not optimal, as there are still suspected reserve objects (ODCB) that have not been officially determined. This research identifies the problem, namely, How is the Implementation of Accelerated Cultural Heritage Data Collection in Supporting Cultural Heritage Preservation in Serang City and what are the obstacles. This research uses authority theory and cultural heritage conservation theory as the basis for analysis. The research method used is empirical juridical with a qualitative descriptive approach through literature studies and interviews with related parties. The research results show that the acceleration of data collection has been carried out through activities to identify, verify, and record cultural heritage objects in the Dapobud system. This step, according to regulations, produces more accurate data, so that it can be immediately protected and preserved. However, implementation has not been optimal due to obstacles in the form of limited facilities and infrastructure, budget, human resources, constraints on the Dapobud system, lack of local government support, and community participation. The conclusion is that the implementation of accelerated data collection on cultural heritage in Serang City has made a positive contribution to conservation efforts, even though it still faces obstacles. Recommendations are addressed to the Serang City Government to strengthen budget support, increase human resource capacity, prepare supporting facilities, and encourage collaboration and community participation so that preservation can be sustainable.

Abstract

This study examines the readiness of accountants in implementing the Financial Accounting Standards for Private Entities (SAK EP) at the Ponuwa Cooperative of Gorontalo State University using a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that the cooperative is administratively ready to prepare financial statements in the form of Business Income (PHU), capital change reports, and balance sheets in accordance with the SAK EP, which is mandatory under Permenkop UKM No. 2 of 2024. Accountants have accounting competencies and practical experience, supported by local IT systems and Excel, as well as internal supervision from supervisory bodies and university facilities. The main obstacles include uncollectible receivables due to double borrowing by members and a tax system based on the previous year's PHU. Overall, the implementation of SAK EP has effectively improved the transparency and accountability of small savings and loan cooperative financial management.
