Abstract

PT XYZ menghadapi permasalahan penurunan kualitas produk yang disebabkan oleh cacat produksi melebihi batas toleransi optimumnya sebesar 2% per periode selama enam periode berturut-turut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi cacat dan penyebabnya serta memberikan rekomendasi strategi aksi untuk penanggulangan dan pencegahan terjadinya cacat tersebut terulang kembali saat proses produksi kain grey di mesin tenun shuttle tipe RRC dilakukan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis yang terintegrasi antara fault tree analysis (FTA) dan failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA). Hasil penelitian menampilkan lima jenis cacat mayor pada produk kain grey yang dominan ditemui dengan persentase kumulatif sebesar 80% yang terdiri dari cacat pickbar,ambrol,sobek,benang terputus dikain dan kain terdapat anyaman yang loncat. Teridentifikasi dua belas akar masalah yang menyebabkan kelima jenis cacat tersebut muncul di hasil produksi mesin tenun shuttle RRC. Akar penyebab masalah yang teridentifikasi kemudian dihitung masing-masing nilai risk priority number (RPN) serta dilakukan klasifikasi berdasarkan tiga kelas yang memiliki intesitas risiko dan potensi penyebab cacat tertinggi meliputi kelas A,B dan C. Dua akar penyebab masalah yang memiliki kumulatif persentae 20% dari kelas A teridentifikasi sebagai penyebab utama cacat yang meliputi : permasalahan sepatu sisir tenun kurang pas dan permasalahan rangkaian let off dan take up motion di mesin tenun yang tidak sesuai. Kedua akar penyebab ini memiliki nilai RPN masing-masing sebesar 648. Rekomendasi startegi aksi sebagai upaya penanggulangan dan pencegahan diberikan pada dua akar penyebab masalah tersebut yang mempunyai persentase penyebab masalah sebesar 20% agar kelima jenis cacat yang memiliki persentase kumulatif dominan sebesar 80% tersebut tidak terjadi kembali.

Abstract

The process of shipping products in the textile industry is essential as it determines the effectiveness of the business. However, non-ideal shipping can result in damage to the shipped products. Therefore, this study aims to develop a mathematical model to optimize the shipping process by assessing the textile product damage rate against environmental parameters such as humidity and temperature and shipping parameters such as shipping duration. The model developed using the Response Surface Methodology (RSM) statistical approach is based on linear and nonlinear models. The results showed that the linear model had a better coefficient of determination as a model validation parameter, with a coefficient of determination of 0.83. This value shows the effectiveness of optimizing the shipping process as a monitoring effort to determine the damage to textile products against several parameters that affect it. The results of this study have implications for the field of textile science, especially regarding the dynamics of distribution or logistics, as well as the application of mathematical applications in the textile field. In addition, the practical implications of this research are expected to be used as a monitoring effort for the textile industry to determine the impact of environmental parameters and shipping duration on the products they ship.

Abstract

The implementation of Learning Management Systems (LMS) in higher education presents challenges for working-class students who must balance their studies and employment. At Private University X in Karawang, the transition from conventional learning methods to LMS has caused adaptation difficulties for both students and lecturers, potentially hindering learning effectiveness. Therefore, an evaluation is necessary to identify key aspects for LMS optimization based on strategies aligned with the university’s specific conditions and needs. This study formulates LMS optimization strategies through a survey involving lecturers and students from the Industrial Engineering Department. Data were collected between February 15 and March 8 and analyzed using the SWOT method based on the Internal Factor Analysis Summary (IFAS) and External Factor Analysis Summary (EFAS). The analysis involved developing variables through interviews validated by previous research, followed by a structured survey to determine variable weights used in quadrant analysis, which were subsequently revalidated by respondents. The findings indicate that diversification is the most effective strategy, as identified through quadrant analysis with an internal factor score of 0.76 and an external factor score of -9.7. This strategy includes personalized learning to align content with student needs, AI integration for enhanced interaction and recommendations, gamification to boost engagement, and improved technical support to address LMS related challenges. By providing a structured strategic framework, this study offers practical guidance for higher education institutions in developing LMS solutions that are more adaptive, inclusive, and aligned with lecturer and student demands.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and map the tempeh industry's supply chain to understand the economic pathway and carbon emissions. The research method uses a system-based approach with the output of a causal loop diagram that explores the dynamic relationship between variables in the small and medium scale tempeh industry supply chain. The results showed that the potential of the small and medium-scale tempeh industry in West Java is very high, especially in contributing to the economic value of the surrounding community. However, this potential has challenges regarding raw material procurement, where dependence on imported soybean raw material supplies makes the economic value for MSEs or the surrounding community not too large. This is due to the efficiency in the procurement of local soybeans and the inadequate stock of local soybean resilience to meet the needs of tempeh production in West Java’s supply chain. The findings also show that the longer the supply chain, the smaller the profitability and create more environmental impacts related to the carbon emissions generated. This study recommends a policy meeting to cut and streamline, and prioritize local soybeans and increase local soybean resilience stocks to better benefit tempeh SMEs in gaining profitability and minimizing the impact of carbon footprint risks, so that business and industrial activities are more sustainable.

Abstract

In our study, we developed an automated system for identifying Indonesian woven fabric motifs using MATLAB-based image processing. Procedures included obtaining visuals, enhancing quality, constructing a regional dataset, extracting features, measuring similarity, and analyzing colors. Correlation assessments enabled precise motif identification, while tailored color analysis improved similarity accuracy. The algorithm demonstrated effective recognition performance using dataset references. This approach offers a practical solution for cultural preservation, providing faster and more consistent results than manual evaluation

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Menerapkan teknologi injeksi air pada sepeda motor empat langkah, (2) Menguji performa sistem injeksi air yang diterapkan, serta (3) Menentukan volume dan waktu penyemprotan air yang paling optimal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen yang dilakukan di Laboratorium Otomotif SMKN 1 Karawang, SMKN 1 Rawamerta, dan Bintang Racing Team, dengan objek uji berupa sepeda motor Honda CB 100 cc. Data hasil pengujian dikumpulkan, disusun dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Penerapan sistem injeksi air mampu menurunkan konsumsi bahan bakar, (2) Terjadi peningkatan daya mesin meskipun tanpa peningkatan torsi, (3) Temperatur kerja mesin menurun secara signifikan, dan (4) Secara keseluruhan, teknologi injeksi air terbukti dapat meningkatkan kinerja mesin pembakaran dalam

Abstract

Penyempurnaan tekstil menggunakan senyawa resin merupakan salah satu usaha untuk memperbaiki sifat serat yang kurang dikehendaki. Penyempurnaan resin ini termasuk penyempurnaan kain secara kimiawi karena menggunakan zat kimia seperti resin sintetik. Bahan ini dapat digunakan secara eksternal dan internal, pada penggunaan eksternal senyawa resin hanya menempel atau terserap pada permukaan bahan saja. Hasil dan pembahasan pengamatan ini terdiri dari dua jenis variabel: variabel dependen dan independen. Dalam pengamatan ini, variabel dependen adalah mesin finishing stenter, sedangkan variabel independen adalah variasi resin terhadap kain polyester. Pada tulisan ini, disajikan data pengamatan yang diperoleh dari hasil variasi resin 60 gram/liter, 80 gram/liter dan 100 gram/liter. Analisis yang akan dilakukan adalah untuk memberikan gambaran seberapa jauh pengamatan mengenai pengaruh konsentrasi variasi resin pada proses finishing dengan mesin stenter terhadap hasil gramasi kain, hasil pengujian ketebalan kain dan efek handfeel yang ditimbulkan.
