Abstract

The rapid development in this modern era has made people develop the concepts of da'wah in many ways. The condition of people challenges the agents of da'wah acfivities to deliver Islamic values to reach the peaceful and prosperous condition of human beings. This article discusses the progress of da'wah activities which areconducted notonlythrough leduring but also through films. One of the films is Srigala Terakhir, which contains the value of inviting people for virfue and preventing them from doing bad things (amar ma'ruf nahi munkar). The values contained in the film have made its viewers give a respond as one of the responds to da'wah values.

Abstract

Modernity has given a great chance to modern people to meet and pursue their material needs in one hand, but on the other hand, they may lose the other essential need like happiness, peace of soul, self identity, and self meaning. They lose the "self" and are alienated from themselves and their own World. The rise of NewAge phenomenon in Indonesia was marked by the birth of various spiritual touch / Sufism (mysticism / Sufism) in orderto meet the needs of the essence, happiness, peace of soul, self identity, and the other meanings that is a manifestation of the human dimension. Sufism emerged in a variety of adivities including thosewhich are not related to the organization tariqat, conventional Sufism, which is a form of organization tariqat, and ecledic mysticism, which is a form of religious diversity. From this came a growing spiritual phenomenon in Indonesia, particularly in urban communities (urbanspiritualitas/ urban Sufism) lately.

Abstract

Formerly, da ’wa was a non academic activity. Nowadays it has developed into an academic study. As an academic study, da’wa can be differently formulated according to its thinker.In a research, da’wa study should widen the area of research including socio cultural and geographical areas. Such a research needs researchers who are capable and understand Islamic teachings, its history and development in the research location. Da ’wa researches should be promoted to develop da’wa knowledge and national development. The existence of Islam is determined by Islamic da’wa and it needs research methodology development.

Abstract

This article focussed on Islamic preaching (da’wa) studied through system approach. This system is a way of thinking about job managing. It provides a framework for describing internal and external environmental factors that influence each other as a whole. The author concluded that the system of da ’wa constituted an entity that comprised of many elements of da’wa. They involved input, output, mind and behavioral convertions, and social and cultural environment. Then, the succes of da’wa is determined by the qualities of input, the level of difficulties mad’u faced, and the sincerity of da’i and his capability to manage the input into good output. So, the use of system approach in da’wa studies gives another perspective to solve the more of recent da’wa problems.

Abstract

Al Ahzab 9 to 27 discusses manhaj Allah fi da’wa al- jama’ah al Muslim, that is a concept Allah applied to guide al-jamaah al-muslim to be a strong and powerful community to face the world ’s conspiracy which tries to break down Muslim existence. lt also contains a guide for the prophet to merely give his trust and resignation to Allah. These verses include the goal, target, method, output, and evaluation of the concept of da ’wa Rabba- niyah in actualizing li’ila kalimatillah. This shows that human beings as the khalifah on the earth are not left without guidance from Allah but provided with the universal rules. As a result, if human beings are committed to Allah ’s concept, they will be safe and happy in facing the enemies of Islam.

Abstract

Harmony and dynamics in Da’wa activities should be continually developed in order to achieve Islam ’s mission as rahmatan lil’ alamin. Persistence, maturity, and sincerity should also be committed in creating fresh and peaceful Da’wa activities that people need. Harmony and dynamics in da ’wa activities should start from every individual and accustomed in the family to make it religious, academic, and morally respectful. Starting from the closest environment, such a da ’wa is expected to be widely spread out. People who have the need of da ’wa will be highly motivated to find it. Approaches, strategies, and cooperation with various elements need to be applied to reach such condition. In this case, harmony and dynamics should be the basic elements in achieving the goals of da ’wa activities.

Abstract

Da ’wa fardiycih is one of the common activities in Islamic preaching and has been applied since earlier period of Islam. However, it has not applied scientific development so that it goes naturally. Referring to this case, this paper tries to discuss the epistemology of da ’wa fardiyah. The study on essence of da ’wa fardiyah will be started from the use of the term itself Since the term is not specifically found in the Quran, its definition is taken from interpersonal communication. The writer try to build a derived definition as follow: Da’wa fardiyah is face to face interaction between one individual and the other or between an individual and small group of people in order to change the individual or small group of people to live in the way of Islamic teachings. How to develop relation is applied gradually. It started from developing positive perception to mad’u and followed with developing cultural and social relation. The third phase is applied through a closed relation con- sidering potentials and differences in every individual.

Abstract

Da’wa fardiyah activity is an effort to invite human beings to behave according to the guidance from Allah in order to achieve khoirul bariyyah, khoirul usroh, and jama ’a. Since the mission of da ’wah is to send a messege from a da’i to the addressees (ma’du), the process of da ’wa has the similarity with the interpersonal communi- cation system. As a discipline, da ’wa cannot be separated from other disciplines as psychology. This will help the actualization of good da ’wa activities.

Abstract

Islam is embraced by many people through a relatively fast spread. This fact cannot be separated firom the role of its preacher, Muhammad. His success in da’wa activities was contributed by his social roles as well as the revelation that he brought. This article tries to explain that both the revelation and the social factors greatly supported his da’wa. Beside his positives, the existence of Quran as a revelation contributed the social legitimacy that Muhammad was considered as a figure to be followed in spite of his contrary values to the cultures of his time.
