Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has encouraged healthcare facilities to adopt Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to improve service quality and administrative efficiency. In Indonesia, the implementation of EMR has been mandated through the Ministry of Health Regulation No. 24 of 2022 as part of the national healthcare digital transformation agenda. This study aimed to analyze the effect of EMR policy implementation on healthcare administrative efficiency at 'Aisyiyah Sitti Khadijah Main Clinic, Parepare City. A quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted from March to May 2026 involving 66 staff members and 285 outpatients. Staff respondents were selected using total sampling, while patient respondents were selected through accidental sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using univariate and Chi-square tests. The findings revealed that EMR policy implementation significantly influenced staff perceptions regarding healthcare administration (p = 0.000) and patient waiting time efficiency (p = 0.009). Staff who perceived the EMR policy as easy to understand were more likely to report positive perceptions of administrative services and shorter patient waiting times. However, technological infrastructure and internet network availability were not significantly associated with healthcare administrative efficiency (p = 0.608). The study concludes that effective EMR implementation contributes to improved administrative efficiency, particularly through enhanced staff acceptance and reduced waiting times, supporting the ongoing digital transformation of healthcare services Keywords: Policy, Electronic Health Records, Administrative Efficiency, Healthcare Services, Digital Transformation

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) represents a government initiative designed to support the nutritional needs of students while contributing to improvements in learning quality at the elementary school level. Evaluating the implementation of this program in schools is important to understand how it operates in practice and to identify factors that influence its effectiveness. This study aimed to examine the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG), including the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting its implementation in elementary schools in Parepare City. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was employed in this study, which was conducted at UPTD SD Negeri 5 Parepare and UPTD SD Negeri 77 Parepare. Informants were selected purposively and involved school principals, teachers, and students participating in the program. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation, followed by thematic analysis using MAXQDA software. The findings indicate that the implementation of the MBG program has generally progressed well through organized meal distribution, active teacher involvement, and coordination between schools and food providers. The program was also associated with improved student focus and greater enthusiasm for classroom learning. Supporting factors included communication, collaboration, food hygiene, and student acceptance, while menu variation and delays in meal distribution remained key challenges. These findings highlight the need to strengthen coordination and improve menu management to optimize program implementation.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Indonesia ranks second globally in TB cases, contributing approximately 10% of the global burden. This condition is further complicated by Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (TB RO), in which patients develop resistance to first-line antibiotics. This study aims to analyze hemoglobin (Hb) profiles, leukocyte differential counts, and Red Blood Cell Distribution Width (RDW-CV) in TB RO patients before and after antituberculosis treatment (OAT) at RSUD Abdoel Wahab Sjahranie Samarinda. This study employed a descriptive observational design with a cross-sectional approach. Data were obtained from medical records involving 16 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that most patients were aged 36–45 years (50%), male (68.75%), received a short-term treatment regimen (75%), and underwent treatment for nine months (37.5%). Anemia was found in 75% of patients, while 68.8% had normal RDW-CV levels. Most leukocyte differential parameters were within normal ranges, including eosinophils (87.5%), neutrophils (100%), lymphocytes (56.3%), monocytes (68.8%), and basophils (100%). Most parameters improved after treatment. In conclusion, monitoring Hb, RDW-CV, and leukocyte differential counts may help identify hematological changes before and after treatment and support early detection of potential complications and treatment failure.

Abstract

Background: Pre-eclampsia is one of the main causes of maternal morbidity. Hyperglycemia is thought to play a role in the pathogenesis of pre-eclampsia through the mechanisms of endothelial dysfunction and oxidative stress. Objective: To determine the relationship between random blood glucose levels (GDS) and the incidence of pre-eclampsia in pregnant women. Method: Quantitative study with a case-control design and a retrospective time approach. A sample of 140 respondents consisted of 70 pregnant women with pre-eclampsia who were taken using a total sampling technique as a case group and 70 normal pregnant women who were taken using a simple random sampling technique as a control group. The study was conducted at the Nogosari Community Health Center, Boyolali Regency with medical records of pregnant women who underwent examinations during 2025 as instruments. Analysis used the Chi-Square test. Results: There were 19 pregnant women with preeclampsia, with 13.57% having a high GDS, 10.78% having a normal GDS, 2.14% not having preeclampsia, and 47.85% not having preeclampsia. The chi-square test showed a p value of 0.001 (<0.05) with an OR of 8.32. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between GDS levels and the incidence of preeclampsia. Pregnant women with a high GDS have an 8.32 times greater risk of developing preeclampsia.

Abstract

According to data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, 13 percent to 18 percent of toddlers in Indonesia experienced growth and developmental disorders in 2020 (Ministry of Health, 2020). Speech delays in children are influenced by various factors such as the child's biology, environment and parenting patterns, screen time and family sociodemographics. The method used is a literature review from Google Scholar, PubMed, and Science Direct, resulting in 11 relevant articles, consisting of 4 national articles and 7 international articles. The results show that children's biological factors are very important for children's language development which is influenced by the maturity of the central nervous system, especially the Broca and Wernicke areas in the brain that function for language processing and sentence structure. Environmental factors show that children with low language stimulation and limited communication have a higher risk of experiencing speech delays compared to children with screen time (gadget use) of more than two hours per day. Sociodemographic factors show that low maternal education levels and limited parenting time increase children's speech delays.

Abstract

Low-birth-weight (LBW) infants require continuous care after discharge from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), making parental discharge readiness essential. To evaluate whether Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) integrated with multimedia parent training improves parental discharge readiness. A quantitative quasi-experimental, non-randomized pretest-posttest control-group design included 30 mother-infant dyads (15 per group) recruited consecutively. The intervention combined KMC education, video, demonstration, and guided practice; the control group received routine NICU education. Readiness was measured with a validated 25-item instrument (range 25-125; Cronbach's α = .914). Readiness improved in both groups, with a larger mean increase in the intervention group (26.33 ± 7.78 vs. 13.00 ± 8.53; p < .001). KMC knowledge increased in both groups, practical skills did not differ significantly (p = .451), and video acceptability was 91.2%. Multimedia-supported KMC parent training was associated with greater discharge-readiness improvement and may strengthen structured neonatal discharge planning, although causal interpretation is limited by the small non-randomized sample.

Abstract

Health protocols play an important role in suppressing COVID-19 transmission and reducing its incidence. Indonesian people's awareness of health protocols has gradually changed throughout the pandemic. These changes occur slowly, requiring government intervention and regulations to encourage and enforce consistent adherence to health protocols. This study employed a literature review using a rapid review approach. Scientific articles were searched through Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect using keywords and Boolean operators: “Knowledge” AND “Attitude” AND “Practice” AND “Health Protocol” AND (“SARS-CoV-2” OR “COVID-19”). The PICO framework included society as Population, COVID-19 health protocols as Intervention, foreign communities as Comparison, and knowledge, attitudes, and practices as Outcomes. Based on various databases, there are 1,090 scientific articles identified through Google Scholar, 5 scientific articles identified through PubMed, and 62 scientific articles identified through ScienceDirect. A total of 10 selected scientific articles that discuss knowledge, attitudes, and application of public health protocols in Indonesia and abroad. Knowledge, attitudes, and application of health protocols to people abroad are better than those of Indonesian people. Knowledge and attitudes regarding health protocols in Indonesian and foreign communities are good, but in Indonesian society there are still applications that are not optimal.
