Abstract

Hemiparesis is a condition of weakness on one side of the body or the inability to move a limb on one side caused by stroke, head trauma, cerebral palsy and brain tumors. Weakness is a loss of muscle strength that can significantly reduce the ability to carry out daily activities. Hemiparesis, if not treated immediately, can cause permanent disability. One intervention that can be used to prevent muscle stiffness and increase muscle strength is Range of Motion (ROM) training. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of providing ROM intervention in cases of Space Occupying Lesion in children who experience hemiparesis. The method used is a case study design with a five process approach to nursing care starting from assessment, diagnosis, intervention planning, implementation and evaluation. The location of the case study was carried out in the Kemuning Room at RSUP Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung. The case obtained was an 11 year old girl being treated in the Kemuning Room at RSUP Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung since October 19 2020. The interventions provided are active ROM exercises on extremities that do not experience hemiparesis and passive ROM exercises on extremities that experience hemiparesis, for five days starting 26 October 2023 - 31 October 2023 with a duration of 20-25 minutes in the morning and afternoon. The results of the study showed that there was a significant increase in muscle strength on the third day of intervention, namely that the lower extremities experienced an increase, whereas before the intervention, 2/5 of the patient's muscle strength had movement but could not withstand gravity, up to 3/5, that is, there is movement with a full range of motion and is able to fight. gravity, and on the fourth and fifth days there was an increase in upper extremity muscle strength, namely from 2/5 to 3/5. In conclusion, ROM exercise intervention is effective and can be applied to children who experience hemiparesis.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorragic Fever (DHF) is a viral disease transmitted by mosquitoesThe house of Egypt. (DHF) reported (WHO) increased from 505,430 cases in 2000, to 5.2 million cases in 2019. DHF can attack all ages, children aged ≤8.5 years are more susceptible to experiencing the risk of bleeding resulting from dengue infection with One of the symptoms that arise is hyperthermia. Givingtepid water sponge can be done for 15-20 minutes in one run with a water temperature of 37ºC (Team of Pokja Guidelines for SPO DPP PPNI, 2021). Givingtepid water sponge more effective in lowering the child's body temperature, this is due to the wiping technique on the body which will accelerate the vasodilation of peripheral blood vessels throughout the body so that the evaporation of heat from the skin to the surrounding environment will be faster. Results of An.M on the first day with hyperthermia nursing problems in implementing therapytepid water sponge 1 time for 15-20 minutes, with the result that the child has no fever anymore with an initial temperature of 38°C after compressingtepid water sponge there was a decrease to 36.7 °C (1.3°C), and these results are consistent with research results (Putri, et al, 2020). The purpose of the tepid water sponge compress is to help release body heat by means of convection which helps lower body temperature faster. Suggestions for the Community can understand compresstepid water sponge when a child has a fever, the author suggests that educational institutions implement therapeutic measurestepid water sponge. Suggestions for the next author can be used as professional and comprehensive nursing care data.

Abstract

Typhoid Febrile disease caused by salmonella typhi bacterial infection that spreads throughout the body is known as typhoid fever (TF). Most children with typhus require hospitalization for the recovery phase, which can sometimes cause problems for the child's psyche. WHO said in 2018 the incidence in Indonesia was 81% per 100,000 population experiencing typhoid fever. Hospital childcare requires that children be separated from comfortable, caring, and fun environments, such as their home, games, and playmates, while doing pediatric care in the hospital results in the child experiencing anxiety. Anxiety is a normal human state that feels threatened that includes cognitive, affective, and behavioral responses. One way that can be done to reduce anxiety in children is origami play therapy. Abstract

Typhoid fever is an acute infectious disease caused by Salmonella thyphi bacteria, which symptomatically affects the digestive tract. Severe typhoid fever resulted in the child being hospitalized. Preschool-aged children who are undergoing hospitalization tend to experience fear and anxiety when nursing procedures are carried out. Anxiety in children can be treated with various methods and media, one of which is plasticine play therapy. This study aims to identify the application before and after plasticine play therapy in children with typhoid fever. The research method used is descriptive-analytic with a case study approach, utilizing the nursing process, which starts with an assessment, nursing diagnosis, nursing intervention, nursing implementation, and nursing evaluation. The instruments used in the research were nursing care, observation sheets, CEMS (children's emotional manifestation scale), standard operating procedures (SOP) for plasticine play therapy, and 1 set of plasticine. Data collection was carried out on one subject, a four-year-old child with a diagnosis of typhoid fever. The intervention was given once a day for three days with a duration of 30 minutes. The research results showed that there was a decrease in anxiety levels from a score of 19 (moderate anxiety) to a score of 8 (no anxiety). The impact of implementing plasticine play therapy can reduce anxiety because the child's attention can be distracted from anxiety, fulfil the child's emotional needs, and help the child's socialization process.
