Abstract

Feed palatability level of animals is very important, as this will affect the growth and development of animals, and also for  the success of captivity animal itself. The aim of this study is to determine feed palatability level on hornbill in Taman Rusa. This study used descriptive method. Analysis of the data calculated using the feed palatability index selection. The results showed that the level of palatability of feed on each hornbill shows the level of palatability different. Palatability of feed on tomato hornbill 1 is a selection index with a value of 0.94, hornbill 2 papaya with a selection index value of 0.93, hornbill 3 tomatoes with Unmatched value with an index of 0.97, and a hornbill 4 tomatoes with value selection index 0.92. The conclusions of this study indicate three favorite feed hornbill showed the highest feed on tomatoes, and a hornbill shows favorite feed is papaya. Based on the research that has been done, then feeding for each hornbill better differentiated quantity between one another

Abstract

This research is  aimed to find out ability  some kind antiseptic soaps inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Eschericia coli bacteria. The research method used Randomized Completely Block Design Sub Sampling with 6 treament and 3 replication, they are: antiseptic soap A, B, C, D, phenol 2% and aquadest. The group consist of S. aureus and E. coli bacteria. The inhibit experiment was done by using Kirby-Bauer methode. The parameter analyzed by using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) continue with the Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The result showed that there were  significant differences of inhibit zone that formed from both bacterias . The result of the antiseptic soap suspend inhibit zone, S. aureus bacteria has larger diameter than E. coli. Soap A, B, C and D with 50% concentrate toward both bacteria, each has average diameter 25, 16 mm, 15,6 mm, 11,5 mm and 9,83 mm while phenol  has 15,0 mm. This result showed that soap A, B, and C has the equal ability to phenol 2%. Base on Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT), it is found out that the real differences of the inhibit zone between the two bacteria as well the real differences of treatment forward those bacteria (P0,05).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT terhadap penguasaan konsep sistem pencernaan manusia di SMA Negeri I Sigli. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan rancangan Pretest-postest Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian adalah  seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri I Sigli semester dua sebanyak 8 kelas dengan jumlah siswa 240 orang, sedangkan sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil secara acak atau random sampling sebanyak 60 siswa yang terdiri dari 30 siswa kelas XI-IPA5 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan 30 orang siswa kelas XI-IPA6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Pembelajaran kelas eksperimen diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT berbasis praktikum, sedangkan kelas kontrol diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT tanpa praktikum. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan uji t dengan bantuan program SPSS 16.0 for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi perbedaan yang signifikan penguasaan konsep terhadap siswa yang diajarkan melalui model pembelajaran TGT berbasis praktikum dengan siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT tanpa praktikum, dengan perbedaan keduanya pada taraf P 0,05, t hitung = 7,570 t tabel = 2,000  untuk penguasaan konsep. Dengan demikian, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT berbasis praktikum terhadap penguasaan konsep siswa pada konsep sistem pencernaan manusia.

Abstract

Tepung jagung yang diproduksi di Propinsi Aceh diolah secara tradisional dan lebih terbatas untuk kebutuhan sendiri. Jumlah dan mutu tepung jagung relatif masih rendah. Hal ini dikarenakan rendahnya pengetahuan produsen tentang teknologi penepungan jagung. Penelitian ini untuk melihat pengaruh kadar air biji jagung dan laju pengumpanan pada  penggilingan menggunakan alat penggiling tipe disk mill terhadap mutu tepung jagung. Penelitian ini menggunakan Analisis Varians faktorial yaitu rancangan acak kelompok faktorial. Diperoleh hasil bahwa kadar air berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap kapasitas giling, rendemen, temperatur dan kadar air tepung jagung. Laju pengumpanan berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap kapasitas giling dan temperatur. Kadar air tepung jagung terjadi peningkatan pada perlakuan kadar air biji jagung 8% sedangkan untuk perlakuan kadar air biji jagung 13% dan 16% kadar air tepung mengalami penurunan. Temperatur jagung mengalami peningkatan setelah proses penggilingan. Rendemen tertinggi sebesar 82,96% dan kapasitas giling tertinggi sebesar 16,51 kg/jam.

Abstract

Green mussel inclusive of pelecypoda class of mollusc group that a lot of in coastal water like Jakarta Bay. Green mussel in Jakarta Bay has been culturing by society that used a collecting media that called bagan tancap.  The increasing of human being activity, also to increase of the bagan reach to 3000 unit. Information about the settling ability and growth of mussel in bagan it important to studied.  This research aims to know growth rate green mussel population and settling ability. To evaluate of growth used Bartalanfy plot and  FISAT II, 2003. Result of growth rate from 0,42 - 0,92 up at middle, infinity length reach 12, 73 cm. The settlement rate fastest in offshore for others site.

Abstract

Fungi are cosmopolite organisms that able to grow in any substrates such as Acacia’s leaf litters. The aim of this research was to identify the fungi from litter layers. Identifying was done by observing fungal structure and colonies characters on PDA. Isolates which were estimated as Basidiomycetes tested by laccase test and peroxidase test. Based on those characters, there was 7 isolates from  genera of Pythium belongs to Mastigomycetes, 1 isolate from Basidiomycetes and 6 genera belongs to Deuteromycetes, i.e. 5 isolates of Penicillium, 10 isolates of Aspergillus, 5 isolates of Trichoderma, 2 isolates of Fusarium, 1 isolate of Geotrichum and 1 isolate of  Phialophora. Seven other isolates were unidentified.

Abstract

Human elephant conflict surrounding agriculture and forest became higher a long year. The fenomena cannot be solved until now. We proposed new technigue, Geographic Information System (GIS)  for solving the problem mainly in agriculture area. The aim of this research for estimating habitat carrying capacity of Sumatran elephant habitat (Elephas maximus sumatranus Temminck) using Geographic Information System. Habitat and animal parameter estimated consist of biotic and abiotic factors. The factors analized suitability analysis using software Autocad Map 2000 and Arcview 3.1. this research result showed habitat carrying capacity in secondary forest (wet season :0,89±0,11 s.d 0,96±0,12 elephant/km²; dry:0,55±0,07 s.d 0,59 ± 0,08 elephant/km²) higher than primary forest (wet season: 0,20±0,02 to 0,26±0,05 elephant/km²  dry: 0,09±0,01 s.d 0,11±0,02 ind/km²). Based on suitability analysis estimated elephant carrying capacity in Tessonilo Forest in wet season (689,45±51,67 to 750,05± 109,14 elephants) higher than dry season (397,85 ±48,45 to 434,88±61,51 elephants). Elephant numbers fluctuated seasonally can be used for planting time strategy in agrculture system. The estimation of habitat carrying capacity did not consider habitat use seasonally.

Abstract

The research was done in Baluran National Park, Banyuwangi East Java. The objectives of this research were:  to determine of species composition, importance value of species, diversity index and evenness index, similarity index, distribution pattern of species, and species association. This research used the quadrat method. The determination of the species distribution was calculated using Poisson distribution formula and the determination of association was calculated using contingency table. The results of this research indicated that,  there were 61 species of  plant belong to20 familiy. The importance value was between 0,97-55,65%, and species with high importance value is Brachiaria reptans, Thespesia lanpas, Dichantium coricosum, and Oplismenus burmanii. The diversity index was between 2,0851-3,4033, and evenness index was between 1,7199-1,9984. The distribution pattern of species indicated that 38  species were  clumped, 10 species reguler, and 13 species were at random.  The multi-plants tend to have a clumped distribution pattern, and single plant tend to have a reguler or random distribution pattern. The of association indicated that 4 species assosiation which the highest index.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to determine the effect of the implementation of Discovery Learning models towards learning outcome of XI-IPA1 students, on the respiratory system subject matter at SMA Unggul Sigli. This study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consist of four phases: planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects were XI IPA 1 students school year 2014/2015, which is amounted to 25 people, consisting of 10 male students and 20 female students. Data analysis was performed with a descriptive quantitative technique. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes in the respiratory system materials. Improving student learning outcomes from a base score for cycle 1 and cycle II is also changing. Average activity of in the first cycle is equal to 22.67%, then increased to 75.32% in the second cycle. Classical learning achievement has exceeded 85% in the second cycle. This condition shows the results of student learning has high category

Abstract

Thalassina scorpionides (Rama-Rama) belong to the Thalassina genus and act as a detritivor. However, information on the density of T. scorpionides based on domestic and overseas literature is still low therefore research needs to be done on population density of T. scorpionides in Mangrove Ecosystem of Reuleung River Leupung District of Aceh Besar Regency. The research was conducted in July 2017. The purpose of this study was to determine the population density of T. scorpionides. Data obtained through survey method with purposive sampling technique. The sampling location is divided into 5 stations and each station has 3 plots. Population density analysis using population density formula. The result showed that population density of T. scorpionides at station I was 3 ind / m2, station II 1 ind / m2, station III 1 ind / m2, station IV 1 ind / m2, and station V 2 ind / m2. Population density of T. scorpionides is most common in station I and the lowest population density is found in station III. Abiotic factor at location of observation station of T. scorpionides that is temperature of water ranged from 25oC-31oC, air temperature 25oC-33oC, salinity of 17 ‰ -22 ‰, and soil pH ranged from 5-7.2, water pH ranged from 5-7.4 and substrate in the form of sandy clay soils, fine pebbles, sludge mud, gravel, and muddy.
