Abstract

Abstract One of the lesson while student have to learn it there are ranks and line aritmatics number. Base from that, writer do research with purpose know are the cooperative learning model STAD type can improve learning result in the ranks and line aritmatics number in class IX SMPN 1 Labuhanhaji South Aceh and for know the students activies during the learning process with cooperative learning model STAD type in ranks and line aritmaticsc number at class IX SMPN Labuhanhaji South Aceh. Subject that take from the research are students at class IX4 SMPN 1 Labuhanhaji South Aceh. Data was collected by do test and observation when learning implementation that do in two cycle activity. Data analysis in this research use statistic descriptive technic that is determine the average of the test every in the end of the syclus with count the presentase the students learning success. The result research show that model application of cooperative learning STAD type can during learning at ranks and line aritmetics at class IX SMPN 1 Labuhanhaji South Aceh. This thing can see from the raising completeness learning in every siclus. Clasical completeness in siclus I is 81,82% with the average value 79,24, classical completeness in siclus II is 90.91% with average value 86,21 or increase 8,08% equivalent with average value in siclus I. Research result show too that students activities the during learning with cooperative model STAD type in ranks and line aritmatics number at class IX SMPN 1 Labuhanhaji South Aceh more active. That thing sign with active students that focus on the teacher’s explanation, active student group discussion, the braveness of students in questioning, answer quation and comprehend subject.Keywords: The Cooperative Type STAD, result student learning

Abstract

Until now student mastery of the material geometry is still relatively low. Many difficulties experienced by students in understanding the geometry of the material, one of which is the difficulty in proving. In addition, the study is not yet available devices that can specifically serve the needs of teachers in the teaching of mathematical proof. Therefore, it is necessary to develop learning tools of proof that can help teachers and train students in the proof of the geometry in school. In this study the evidence used strategy is the strategy of abductive-Deductive. This study aims to develop and produce learning device geometry proof. This type of research is the development of research refers to the model of Plomp through four stages, namely a preliminary investigation stage, the design stage, the stage of realization / construction, and stage of the test, evaluation and revision. This research trials in SMA Laboratorium Unsyiah Banda Aceh. The research showed the average score validator for RPP 4.52, 4.58 LKPD, teaching materials and test 4.54 4.30 learning outcomes, adherence to the 91%, the average score of 3.73 practicality test, 86% students with a positive response, and 80.7% of students complete. This shows that the learning device valid criteria, practical and effective way to improve the geometry of high school students.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektifitas penggunaan model kooperatif tipe snowball throwing pada materi sistem pertidaksamaan linear di kelas XI-IS-2 SMA Negeri 7 Banda Aceh. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri atas 2 siklus. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI-IS-2 SMA Negeri 7 Banda Aceh pada semester satu tahun 2013/2014 sebanyak 30 siswa. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis diskriptif  komparatif dengan  membandingkan kondisi awal dengan hasil-hasil yang dicapai pada setiap siklus, dan analisis deskriptif kualitatif hasil observasi dengan membandingkan hasil observasi dan refleksi pada siklus I, dan siklus II. Untuk mengetahui efektifitas penggunaan model kooperatif Tipe Snowball Throwing pada materi sistem pertidaksamaan linear dilakukan observasi terhadap keaktifaan siswa, kemampuan guru dan tanggapan siswa dari angket. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil pengamatan terhadap keaktifan guru dan siswa mencapai katagori baik dan sangat baik berdasarkan kriteria yang telah ditetapkan. Berdasarkan hasil post test siswa yang tuntas pada siklus I sebanyak 12 siswa (40%) danterjadi peningkatan pada siklus ke II yaitu sebanyak 28 siswa (93%). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan sebanyak 53%. Rata-rata hasil belajar siswa pada post tes siklus I adalah 74sedangkan pada post test siklus ke II adalah 83.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpukan bahwa penggunaan model kooperatif Tipe Snowball Throwing pada materi sistem pertidaksaan linear sangat efektitif dan bagus digunakan di kelas XI-IS-2 SMA Negeri 7 Banda Aceh dapat hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari peningkatan hasil belajar dan antusianme siswa dalam belajar.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to describe the critical problems experienced by students in solving algebraic inequalities. The subjects of the study were nine Year 12 students from one of the senior high school in Banda Aceh and students studying at one of the tuition centres in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. The data was gathered through algebraic inequality test followed by interviews. The results showed that the critical problems experienced by students in solving the question of algebraic inequality were problems in understanding cross-multiplication requirements, in applying cancellation rules, in understanding the definition area and value areas of a function, in determining exponential inequalities, and in understanding the definition of absolute value.Keywords: critical problems, difficulties, algebraic inequalities.

Abstract

Abstract             Students' conceptual understanding of mathematics acquired through investment concepts and the association of a concept with other concepts. Procedural understanding is that task completion procedure can be given via a demonstration by the teacher. Assumed inductive learning strategies can improve conceptual understanding and procedural math students. This study was conducted to see the effect of inductive learning strategy to increase conceptual understanding and procedural mathematics student and it is a mixed method study. This study is a population that is all class XI IPA MAN Kuta Baro Aceh Besar, which consists of two classes. Obtain experimental class learning with inductive learning strategy and classroom learning gain control conventional. The research instrument consisted of conceptual understanding and procedural tests and interviews. Processing data by using SPSS, Microsoft Excel, t-test and Mann-Whitney test. Data processing results obtained: 1) there is no difference increased conceptual understanding of mathematics students who learn by inductive learning strategy and the learning with conventional learning, both in terms of overall student well in terms of student ratings of high, medium and low, 2) there is a difference increase in the  procedural understanding of mathematical students are learning with inductive learning strategy and the learning with conventional learning, both in terms of overall students and students from low ratings, but there is no difference in terms of improvement when students rank high and medium. Results obtained some mistake interview students, among others: 1) erroneously determine the function of derivative with using the concept of limit because there was erroneous of multiplication algebra process, 2) erroneously write  the example of  function thas has  derivative equals 3, that  does not have derivative, and grouping function that has derivative 2 and it’snt 2 because they do not understand the concept of derivative, 3) erroneously indicate a function that has a derivative at a point because they don’t understand the mean of question  (4) erroneously explain why the f '(0) is undefined for f(x) =   because they don’t understand what is known on th question and divisibility by zero (5)erroneously conclude when a graph has a derivative around x=a because of they don’t understand the reason (6)erroneously determine the derivative quotient and the products of two functions because they don’t understand the definition of a derivative, the proces of algebra product, and it’s simplification (7) erroneously determine the derivative of the root form because  there was an erroneous  in the process of changing the root form. Keywords: Inductive Learning, Conceptual Understanding, Procedural Understanding

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah adalah kemampuan seorang siswa dalam menggunakan proses berpikirnya untuk memecahkan masalah melalui pengumpulan fakta, analisis informasi, menyusun berbagai alternatif pemecahan, dan memilih pemecahan masalah yang paling efektif. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini adalah, 1) Apakah kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran problem based learning lebih baik daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dengan pembelajaran biasa (konvensional), 2) Apakah terdapat interaksi antara faktor pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Jenis penelitian adalah eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Instrumen tes berbentuk uraian sebanyak 5 soal berdasarkan indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Teknik pengolahan data dianalisis dengan statistik kuantitatif. Pengolahan data peneliti menggunakan bantuan SPSS 16.0. hasil penelitian, diketahui 1) Peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw lebih baik daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dengan pembelajaran biasa (konvensional) berdasarkan keseluruhan siswa, 2) Peningkatan kemampuan  pemecahan masalah siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran Problem Based Learning lebih baik daripada kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dengan pembelajaran biasa (konvensional)  berdasarkan pengelompokkan siswa, dan 3) Terdapat interaksi antara penerapan pembelajaran dan pengelompokkan siswa terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa.

Abstract

Matematika adalah salah satu disiplin ilmu yang harus dikuasai siswa. Kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa banyak siswa yang kurang menguasai matematika, khususnya materi fungsi komposisi. Salah satu faktor penyebabnya adalah siswa kurang aktif dalam pembelajaran. Salah satu strategi pembelajaran yang dapat melibatkan siswa secara aktif adalah pendekatan  Problem Posing dengan model Reciprocal Teaching. Materi fungsi komposisi adalah salah satu materi yang dapat diajarkan dengan  pendekatan  Problem Posing dan model Reciprocal Teaching. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan pendekatan  Problem Posing dan  yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Reciprocal Teaching pada materi fungsi komposisi di kelas XI MAN Darussalam Aceh Besar Tahun Ajaran 2010/2011. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MAN Darussalam Aceh Besar Tahun Ajaran 2010/2011 yang terdiri dari 150 siswa. Sedangkan sampel adalah siswa kelas XI IPA1 dan XI IPA2 yang diambil secara purposive sampling dari lima kelas. Siswa kelas XI IPA1 diajarkan dengan pendekatan  Problem Posing, sedangkan siswa kelas XI IPA2 diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Reciprocal Teaching. Kedua kelas diberikan tes akhir setelah pembelajaran dilakukan. Adapun data yang diperlukan untuk penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui tes, obsevasi aktivitas siswa, dan angket respon siswa. Tehnik analisis data yang diperoleh dari tes dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji-t dan data dari hasil observasi dan angket dianalisis dengan persentase. Hasil tes diperoleh rata-rata kelas XI IPA1 ;  = 70,7 dan kelas XI IPA2;   = 72,7. Adapun thitung  = 0,45 dan ttabel = 2,02 atau thitung ttabel pada taraf signifikan α = 0,05. Berdasarkan kriteria pengujian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan hasil belajar siswa pada materi fungsi komposisi melalui pendekatan Problem Posing dan model Reciprocal Teaching di kelas XI MAN Darussalam Aceh Besar.

Abstract

The study was motivated by the problems faced by students of Mathematics Education of Aceh Muhammadiyah University. Students had difficulty studying discrete mathematics course. Based on preliminary observations, the problem that often arised was when graphing, especially for more complex issues that require longer time for manually drawing. Besides, the availability of discrete mathematics module is limited, especially the one using software maxima for solving problems. Therefore, it is necessary to develop discrete module mathematics assisted by wxMaxima software. Discrete Mathematics Module Development Research wxMaxima assisted by software aims to produce the ICT-based discrete mathematics modules that are valid and practical. The method used was research development. The model used was the Plomp model development, involving (1) the initial investigation phase, (2) the design phase, (3) the realization phase/construction, and (4) the phase of the test, evaluation and revision. The results showed that the development of discrete mathematics module assisted with wxmaxima software was valid, as indicated by the validation results that showed a valid criterion. Discrete mathematics modules developed was practical, as seen from the results of the field trials in the Department of Mathematics, University of Muhammadiyah Tarbiyah Aceh, where the average student activities showed good criterion.

Abstract

AbstractThis research related to the quality of the test and math learning outcomes, conducted at SMP Negeri 9 Banda Aceh entitled "Quality of test and the mathematics learning outcomes Class VIII SMP Negeri 9 Banda Aceh Academic Year 2011/2012”. The aim is to figure out the learning outcomes and the quality of math test of students grade VIII SMP Negeri 1 Banda Aceh Academic Year 2011/2012. Quality of test includes the analysis of validity, reliability, difficulty level, item discrimination and distractor analysis. The population in this research is all student class VIII consists of VIII-1 with 21 students, class VIII-2 with 21 students, class VIII-3 with 21 students and class VIII-4 with 19 students. The total samples are 82 students with the number of multiple choice test is 25 questions and 5 questions of essay.  Data collections in this research by using documentation technique, by checking the students answer sheet in even semester examination academic year 2011/2012. The results shows that (1) the validity of multiples choice questions was low and sufficient for essay, (2) the reliability of multiples choice and essay were good enough, (3) difficulty level of the multiple choice and essay questions were good enough, (4) item discrimination of multiple choice questions still low but the essay questions in good categorize for 60% and bad for 40%. The quality of mathematics test in SMP Negeri 9 Banda Aceh is low for multiple choice questions and sufficient for essay. Thus we can conclude the analysis of learning outcomes data grade VIII SMP 9 Banda Aceh in the classical mastery learning achievement is only 3.66%. In this case we can conclude that the classical mastery learning is very low (not complete).  Key Words: Quality of test and math learning outcomes

Abstract

Pengunaan model pembelajaran dalam pembelajaran menjadi faktor penting untuk mencapai ketuntasan belajar siswa. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran matematika adalah model pembelajaran Learning Start With a Question (LSQ). Siswa dituntut untuk lebih aktif dalam bertanya dengan model pembelajaran ini, sehingga diharapkan hasil belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran matematika mengalami peningkatan. Bilangan bulat merupakan salah satu materi yang dipelajari di MTsN. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu Apakah siswa dapat mencapai ketuntasan belajar pada materi bilangan bulat melalui model Learning Start With a Question (LSQ) di kelas VII MTsN Tangse?. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa pada materi bilangan bulat melalui model Learning Start With a Question. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dan pre-eksperimen design dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII MTsN Tangse, sedangkan sampel diambil satu kelas secara acak dari 4 kelas yang ada dan terpilih yaitu kelas VIIc. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah menerapkan model pembelajaran Learning Start With a Question. Data dikumpulkan dari sampel melalui tes hasil belajar 30 siswa. Berdasarkan pengujian, sampel berasal dari populasi yang berdistribusi normal. Selajutnya digunakan uji t pihak kanan dengan taraf signifikan 5% dan dk = 29, dan diperoleh , yaitu 2.31 1.70. berarti tolak HoSimpulannya adalah siswa mencapai ketuntasan belajar materi bilangan bulat melalui model Learning Start With a Question di kelas VIIc MTsN Tangse Kata Kunci: Learning Start With a Question, hasil Belajar, bilangan bulat
