Abstract

Health services are efforts organized to maintain and improve public health, as well as prevent and cure diseases. Hospitals as public health institutions play an important role in providing quality health services. However, the quality of health services in hospitals often comes under scrutiny, especially in the context of inpatient services. This study focuses on the five dimensions of service quality according to the servsqual model, namely reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangibility. In Indonesia, there has been an increase in the number of people choosing to seek treatment abroad, indicating dissatisfaction with domestic health services. This indicates the need for an in-depth evaluation of the quality of health services provided, especially in inpatient units. Research Objectives. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of health service quality based on 5 dimensions of servsqual. This study is a quantitative study with a descriptive design through a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were inpatients of the Tjan Khee Swan East and Asa buildings. The number of samples in this study were 70 respondents. The sampling technique used consecutive sampling. The results showed that the quality of service is good from the dimensions of reliability (62.9%), responsiveness (61.4%), assurance (68.6%), empathy (67.1%), tangible (64.3%). Service quality with the dimensions of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, tangible is categorized as good.

Abstract

The short film ‘Kembali Pulang’ tells the story of a girl’s life journey who only lives with her mother after her father leaves. Their relationship experiences various dynamics after the child decides to go abroad to pursue her dreams. The purpose of this study is to determine the representation of family values ​​in the short film “Kembali Pulang” through Roland Barthes’ Semiotic Analysis. This study is a descriptive qualitative study with Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis method which includes three elements, namely denotation, connotation, and myth. Through a reflective approach, this film reflects common family values ​​in Indonesian culture, such as affection, care, togetherness, attention, warmth that is woven within the family, and forgiving each other for misunderstandings that occur. This film is a reflection media that reminds us of the importance of maintaining relationships with family, especially with both parents, and more appreciating togetherness, presence and affection of family in everyday life.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal how the creativity and innovation of the @ntvnews.id editorial team play a role in the process of commodifying news into short videos that are adjusted to the characteristics of Instagram social media. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data was obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that the editorial team modifies news into interesting visual content that is in accordance with the characteristics of the social media audience. Innovation is seen from the video format, narrative style, and the use of platform algorithms. The division of specialized tasks supports production efficiency. These findings confirm that creativity and innovation are important strategies in maintaining the existence of digital media.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat motivasi pemain voli Mahesa Putra. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Survey dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi yang digunakan berjumlah 18 pemain. Teknik sampling menggunkan total sampling sehingga sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 18 pemain. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket motivasi dengan nilai validitas aiken> 0.69. Dari hasil uji coba 66 butir pernyataan dan 25 reponden. Dari hasil uji validitas dengan taraf signifikansi 5% diperoleh nilai validitas total instrumen penelitian sebesar 0.830 yang dapat dikatakan valid. Berdasarkan tabel di atas bahwa hasil penelitian mengenai tingkat motivasi pemain Mahesa Putra dalam mengikuti program latihan yang masuk dalam kategori sangat baik sebesar 66,6% dengan frekuensi sebanyak 10 anak, kategori baik sebesar 44,4% dengan frekuensi sebanyak 8 anak, sedangkan pada kategori cukup atau sedang, kurang dan sangat kurang sebesar 0% dengan frekuensi sebanyak 0 anak.

Abstract

Interpersonal communication is fundamental in education, particularly in special schools serving children with special needs (CSN). Teachers play a pivotal role in fostering social interaction, as effective communication greatly influences students’ emotional and social development. This study aims to describe how interpersonal communication applied by teachers at SLBN 7 Jakarta enhances the social interaction of CSN students. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation. The main informants were teachers working with students with diverse needs, including intellectual disabilities, hearing impairments, and autism. Findings indicate that teachers employ empathetic, adaptive, and personalized communication strategies aligned with each student’s characteristics. These strategies involve verbal and nonverbal language, gestures, and emotional support, which together create a comfortable and supportive learning environment. As a result, children with special needs were able to build peer relationships, gain self-confidence, and engage more actively in social activities. The study concludes that teachers’ interpersonal communication is a crucial factor in strengthening students’ sense of security, confidence, and social participation. Ultimately, interpersonal communication skills contribute significantly to improving the overall social development of children with special needs in inclusive learning contexts.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology in the digital era has transformed operational and communication patterns within organizations, including in the field of information technology maintenance services. Project maintenance efficiency is a key factor for success, influenced by the effectiveness of internal communication. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The informants consisted of one Customer Engineer as the key informant and one IT Support as the supporting informant. Data analysis was conducted interactively through the stages of data reduction, presentation, and verification. The findings emphasize the importance of strategic organizational communication as a supporting factor for project success in the information technology sector. The research results show that a well-structured and planned communication strategy covering situation analysis, setting communication objectives, formulating key messages, identifying target audiences, selecting appropriate media, and conducting evaluation and feedback significantly contributes to work efficiency. Such strategies enhance the speed of information delivery, accuracy of coordination, and overall project efficiency.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of employee performance on healthcare services at Malahayati Islamic Hospital in Medan from the perspective of Islamic hospitality. The method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation. The focus of this research lies in the Islamic values applied in healthcare services, such as courtesy, friendliness, cleanliness, empathy, and spiritual work ethics. The findings reveal that effective employee performance grounded in Islamic hospitality values can enhance service quality, patient comfort, and trust in the hospital. The services provided are not solely oriented toward physical healing but also consider the patients’ spiritual and emotional aspects. Values such as Islamic communication, adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP), provision of halalan tayyiban food, and spiritual support are integral in shaping a humane healthcare system rooted in Islamic ethics

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the communication strategy of gadget use policy in the learning process at PAUD Bunga Cempaka. In today's digital era, gadgets are not only entertainment tools but also learning media for early childhood. However, without an effective communication strategy, gadget use may negatively affect children's social and emotional development. This research uses a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with the school principal and students’ parents. The results show that PAUD Bunga Cempaka implements a communication strategy involving information dissemination via meetings and WhatsApp groups, education on the positive and negative impacts of gadgets, and open discussion opportunities for parents. Gadget usage is limited to specific times and tailored to educational content. This strategy helps raise parental awareness in accompanying their children and balancing technology with communication development. The study contributes to formulating child-friendly educational policies that embrace technology while prioritizing healthy development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of youth violence and racial discrimination in the film Pengepungan di Bukit Duri (2025) using Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic approach. The film highlights complex social issues such as juvenile delinquency, marginalization, and structural violence against the Chinese ethnic minority in Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this research identifies and interprets visual signs, dialogues, and narratives that signify violence and discrimination. The findings show that the film represents social disintegration through symbols of physical violence, psychological pressure, and social injustice toward minority groups. This research is expected to contribute to academic discourse in visual communication studies and raise social awareness of discrimination and violence in media.

Abstract

The phenomenon of a quarter-life crisis, marked by uncertainty, anxiety, and identity exploration among young adults, has become increasingly significant in popular culture. This study aims to reveal the representation of the quarter-life crisis in the lyrics of “Perjalanan” by Danar Widianto using Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis. A qualitative interpretative method was applied, supported by data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews with the songwriter, and documentation. The analysis involved Barthes’ three levels of signification—denotation, connotation, and myth—combined with Stuart Hall’s representation theory. The findings show that the lyrics of “Perjalanan” reflect personal experiences of life’s uncertainties, hope, perseverance, and self-reflection, which are closely associated with the characteristics of a quarter-life crisis. The connotative meaning emphasizes the importance of setting goals, overcoming challenges, and not giving up along life’s journey. Moreover, the song conveys myths about life’s struggles and the belief that hardships are temporary. Beyond its portrayal of a quarter-life crisis, the lyrics also embed values of romanticism, religiosity, and optimism that deliver a strong moral message to listeners.
