Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has driven the growth of the online gaming industry in Indonesia, including in eastern regions such as Jayapura. One of the most popular games is Free Fire, which offers various attractive features and is accessible to a wide audience. However, in the highly competitive gaming industry, the quality of application services is a crucial factor in maintaining user loyalty. This study aims to analyze the service quality of the Free Fire application in Jayapura using the SERVQUAL method, which measures five service dimensions: Tangibles, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, and Empathy. The research involved 35 active Free Fire users in Jayapura, using a questionnaire consisting of expectation and perception components. Data were analyzed using SPSS for validity testing, reliability testing, and GAP (P–E) analysis. The results show that all dimensions have positive GAP values, indicating that user perceptions exceed their expectations. The Responsiveness dimension recorded the highest GAP (0.50), followed by Reliability (0.46), Assurance (0.24), Empathy (0.17), and Tangibles (0.05). These findings indicate that the Free Fire application has successfully delivered satisfying services to users in Jayapura. This study recommends that developers maintain strong service dimensions and improve those with relatively lower GAP scores to optimize overall service quality.

Abstract

The growth of the online gaming industry in Indonesia continues to show a positive trend, especially on popular platforms like Roblox. This study aims to analyze the satisfaction level of playing Roblox in Indonesia using the SERVQUAL method, which measures the gap between players' expectations and perceptions on five dimensions: Tangibles, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, and Empathy. Data were collected through online questionnaires from 30 active Roblox users and analyzed using SPSS for validity, reliability, and GAP (P–E) analysis. The results indicate a negative average GAP in some dimensions, suggesting that players' perceptions do not fully meet their expectations. This study provides recommendations for Roblox developers to improve service quality and enhance player satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of PUBG Mobile application quality in Jayapura using the SERVQUAL method. The SERVQUAL method measures five dimensions of service quality: Tangibles, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, and Empathy. A questionnaire with 20 items was distributed to 33 active PUBG Mobile users in Jayapura to serve as the research instrument. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS with multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that the dimensions of Tangibles, Assurance, and Responsiveness have a significant impact on the quality of the PUBG Mobile application. Specifically, the Tangibles dimension showed a positive average GAP value of 0.31, Assurance 0.27, and Responsiveness 0.13. This suggests that users' perceptions of these three dimensions exceeded their expectations, contributing significantly to the application's quality. Conversely, the Reliability and Empathy dimensions did not show a significant effect, despite having positive GAP values (Reliability 0.08 and Empathy 0.05). The study concludes that the application's reliability, assurance, and responsiveness play a key role in enhancing the user experience. Therefore, it is recommended that PUBG Mobile developers improve the application's performance in terms of stability, responsiveness, visual aspects, and system security to maximize user satisfaction. Although the Empathy dimension had the smallest GAP value, it indicates room for improvement in user interaction and emotional engagement. Therefore, it is recommended that the developers of PUBG Mobile enhance the application’s performance in terms of stability, responsiveness, visual aspects, and system security to maximize user satisfaction. Although the Empathy dimension has the smallest GAP value, it still indicates room for improvement in user interaction and emotional engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the audience's reception position toward the “Prabowo Menjawab” episode on Narasi TV’s YouTube channel using Stuart Hall’s decoding theory. The research employs a qualitative approach through observation and interviews. A total of 30 comments were selected from 7,866 comments based on popularity (number of likes, replies, and posting time within the past two months), while interviews were conducted with four informants who had fully watched the video. The findings indicate that the majority of audiences occupy the oppositional decoding position, consciously rejecting the narrative and interpreting the program as a form of political image-building. Some audiences fall into the negotiated position, partially accepting the message while maintaining a critical stance toward its substance. Only a small portion of the audience demonstrates a dominant-hegemonic stance, showing full acceptance of the message. These results suggest that audiences are active in interpreting media content and that media constructions are not always received passively, but can be negotiated or even resisted.

Abstract

This research aims to describe how the communication patterns of content on the Instagram account @delicute_id build engagement with followers. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach, using content analysis theories from Klaus Krippendorff and Denis McQuail. These methods and theories are applied to understand the visual message elements that attract follower interaction. The research data were obtained through observation, interviews, documentation, and relevant literature studies, providing a more comprehensive overview. The analysis focuses on Feed, Story, and Reels content, which serve different communication functions in delivering information, entertainment, and education. The findings indicate that Instagram is not only used as a promotional tool but also as a space for emotional interaction with the majority of Delicute’s followers, who are primarily young women and young mothers. This study shows that creative content communication patterns, appealing visuals, and structured presentation can establish strong relationships between the brand and its audience, thereby significantly enhancing engagement on this social media platform.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of WhatsApp Group usage on parents’ knowledge regarding school activities in Foxes Class, at Kipina Kids Kelapa Gading 1. The background of this research highlights the importance of effective communication between schools and parents in early childhood education, particularly through digital media that are practical and easily accessible. The research method applied was quantitative with a questionnaire approach. The population consisted of 42 parents, with a sample of 38 respondents determined using Slovin’s formula with a 10% margin of error. The instrument used was a closed-ended Likert scale questionnaire distributed through Google Form in the class WhatsApp Group. Data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and simple linear regression analysis with the assistance of SPSS software. The result show that WhatsApp Group usage has a positive and significant influence on parental knowledge, as evidenced by a significance value of 0,001 < 0,05 and a t-value of 3,501 > ttabel of 2,028. The coefficient of determination indicated that 25,4% of the variation in parents' knowledge is explained by the use of WhatsApp Group, with the remaining percentage influenced by other factors. A Pearson correlation value 0.504 revealed a moderately strong and statistically significant relationship between the variables. These findings highlight the role of digital communication tools like WhatsApp in fostering effective collaboration between schools and families, particularly in early childhood education settings.

Abstract

In an organization, a process of exchanging information, ideas, feelings, and perspectives among individuals or groups is required to achieve a desired goal. In the modern era, the delivery of both verbal and non-verbal information is made easier by communication technology. These media act as an intermediary or a tool used to convey messages from a communicator to a recipient. Communication media can be virtual or physical and can include written, verbal, or non-verbal elements. They play a crucial role in daily life, such as in the process of delivering messages or information. The process of delivering information, supported by communication technology, will proceed more smoothly and successfully. One example is the use of a video conferencing application to coordinate work within a national company that has branch offices and thousands of employees spread across Indonesia. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research, which selects employees of PT Mandala Multifinance as sample informants. These informants hold the role of a leader in the marketing division and are responsible for delivering messages or information to guide a project for creating designs and videos for the branches. This is to ensure that the information and instructions conveyed to all branch offices achieve the intended purpose and desired goals. This is done with the support of the Teams application, allowing for direct, online, face-to-face meetings with representatives from Mandala Multifinance branches across Indonesia. By analyzing these online video conference meetings, the communication process and patterns used in the meetings can be concluded. Furthermore, data is collected using instruments in the form of observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with the informants.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the communication strategy implemented by the JKT48 Terbaik Sedunia (JTS) fan community through its Instagram account in shaping a positive image of the idol group JKT48. The research applies a qualitative descriptive method, using in-depth interviews, direct observation of the community’s social media activities, and documentation studies. The findings indicate that JTS consistently produces informative, appreciative, and promotional content with visual and narrative elements tailored to audience preferences. The community ensures that all content aligns with JKT48’s positive image by sharing only official information and avoiding controversial issues. Within the framework of image theory, JTS’s strategy reflects key indicators such as reputation, corporate identity, organizational capability, and social responsibility. Furthermore, JTS’s digital activities contribute to strengthening fan loyalty and expanding JKT48’s public presence, as evidenced by their frequent participation in major events and growing media recognition at the national level.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of the sandwich generation phenomenon in the film "Home Sweet Loan" (2024), an issue that is increasingly relevant in modern Indonesian society, as evidenced by the high number of Gen Z who feel financial and emotional burdens due to dual responsibilities. Film as a significant mass communication media is able to reflect social reality and has the potential to change mindsets. The purpose of this study is to understand how the sandwich generation is represented in the film's visual narrative. Using a qualitative approach with Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis design and constructivism paradigm, this study analyzes key scenes in the film in depth. The results show that the film "Home Sweet Loan" explicitly depicts the physical, mental, and financial pressures faced by sandwich generation individuals, such as the character Kaluna who sacrifices her personal dreams for the sake of family needs and debts. Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis successfully reveals the layers of denotative, connotative, and mythical meaning behind each scene, showing the injustice, sacrifice, and feeling of being trapped experienced by this generation. In conclusion, this film successfully presents a comprehensive picture of the challenges of the sandwich generation, encouraging reflection on roles and responsibilities within the family.

Abstract

The decline in public trust toward Indonesia’s judiciary largely driven by corruption scandals involving court officials has underscored the urgent need for the Public Relations division of the Supreme Court of Indonesia (Humas Mahkamah Agung RI) to adopt more effective communication strategies. This research focuses on examining how Humas Mahkamah Agung utilizes social media, specifically the Instagram account @humasmahkamahagung, to build and reinforce a positive image of the judiciary. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through interviews, field observations, and supporting documentation. The findings reveal that Instagram serves as a strategic visual communication platform where institutional messages are shared in an organized manner, combining positive storytelling, engaging visuals, and consistent publication schedules. Despite the current limitations in facilitating two-way interactions with the public, this communication approach has successfully contributed to enhancing the public image of the judiciary. Contributing factors to this success include the availability of high- quality visual content and the presence of a professional PR team, while the main challenge remains the limited direct engagement with the public. Ultimately, this research highlights the essential role of digital communication strategies in shaping and maintaining the reputation of public institutions, especially in the era of social media that demands transparency, speed, and responsiveness to evolving legal issues.
