Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum in areas affected by natural disasters, specifically the flash floods in Bumiayu, Brebes. The study focuses on the adaptation of curriculum policies, PAI teacher strategies, and the learning challenges that emerged post-disaster. Using a qualitative case study approach, data was collected through analysis of documents, news reports, and previous research related to post-disaster education. The results indicate that the implementation of the PAI curriculum has undergone significant changes, particularly in the adjustment of core competencies, learning methods, and the integration of morality and spiritual resilience materials. PAI teachers play a crucial role in restoring students' psychosocial well-being through flexible, humanity-centered learning. This study emphasizes the urgency of reconstructing the PAI curriculum to be responsive to emergency situations, adaptive, and foster students' spiritual resilience.

Abstract

This study implements the Bayes Theorem method to diagnose dental diseases based on patient-reported symptoms. Bayes Theorem operates by calculating the probability of a disease as a hypothesis based on available evidence in the form of observed symptoms. In this study, patient-reported symptoms are analyzed probabilistically to diagnose several types of dental diseases, namely gingivitis, dental caries, periodontal abscess, and pulpitis. The system utilizes conditional probability values between symptoms and diseases obtained from expert knowledge to calculate the posterior probability of each disease. The system is developed using the Python programming language and consists of a knowledge base containing symptom data, disease types, and probability values, as well as an inference engine that applies Bayes Theorem calculations. Research data were collected through interviews with dentists at Dian Farma Clinic, South Jayapura. The results indicate that the Bayes Theorem method is effective in supporting the early diagnosis of dental diseases in an objective and measurable manner; however, the diagnostic results still require further confirmation by professional medical personnel.

Abstract

The archetype of the anima, as a representation of the feminine unconscious in the male psyche, plays a significant role in personality integration and character transformation. This research aims to describe the dynamics of the anima archetype and its influence on the transformation of the main character's character values in the novel Pulang by Leila S. Chudori. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, focusing on the character Lintang as the research subject. Data was collected through structural analysis of the text to identify anima projections in female figures (Surti, Alam, and Tanya) and their interactions with Lintang. Data analysis was carried out thematically through the process of reduction, presentation, and interpretation of meaning based on Carl Gustav Jung's psychoanalytic theory. The findings show that female figures function as anima manifestations that guide Lintang through the process of confronting his shadow, reconciling with his traumatic past, and ultimately achieving self-integration (individuation). The anima facilitates the transformation of Lintang's character values from being rigid, fugitive, and full of resentment to becoming more empathetic, forgiving, responsible, and finding his true identity. This research confirms that literary works can be a psychological case study that illustrates the process of character development through archetypal dynamics.

Abstract

Cultural literacy in elementary schools can be developed through writing activities that integrate local wisdom. This study aims to describe the process and outcomes of integrating Madiun's local wisdom in short story writing learning using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model for sixth-grade students at SDN Ngranget, Madiun Regency. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis of learning plans and student work. Thematic data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the CTL model successfully facilitated students in exploring and constructing ideas based on direct experiences with local wisdom. Student engagement and motivation increased significantly, resulting in short stories that reflect local values such as mutual cooperation (gotong royong), environmental care, and socio-cultural traditions of Madiun. This study concludes that CTL is an effective pedagogical strategy for developing cultural literacy through contextual and meaningful writing learning.

Abstract

The Talk phase in the TTW (Think-Talk-Write) method is a critical bridge between individual idea incubation and text production. This study aims to describe the dynamics of student discussions in the Talk phase to spark ideas for writing fantasy stories in class VII of SMP Negeri 6 Madiun. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with students and teachers, and analysis of student discussion notes and fantasy story drafts. Thematic data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the dynamics of discussion in the Talk phase are characterized by (1) collaborative idea exploration, where students build on each other's initial ideas, (2) negotiation of fantasy elements to maintain narrative logic, and (3) the emergence of peer validation that boosts confidence in developing unconventional ideas. Effective dialogue facilitators, both teachers and peers, play a key role in creating a safe and productive discursive space. This study concludes that the Talk phase is not just an idea-sharing session, but a collaborative cognitive process that enriches imagination, tests idea plausibility, and provides the social support needed for students to dare to write fantasy.

Abstract

The integration of environmental awareness into creative writing learning is a relevant effort to respond to global ecological issues. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Guided Synectic model based on the local environment as an innovative solution to simultaneously enhance poetry writing skills and environmental care attitudes among fifth-grade students. This qualitative classroom action research was conducted in two cycles at SDN Manisrejo 01 Madiun. Data were collected through participatory observation, poetry writing tests, attitude scale questionnaires, interviews, and analysis of student work. The results indicate that the environment-based Guided Synectic model successfully created a meaningful learning context. The stages of synectic (creating analogies between environmental objects and poetic elements) guided students to produce more imaginative and concrete poetry. Furthermore, direct interaction with the environment and discussions about local ecological issues significantly increased students' awareness and positive attitudes toward environmental sustainability. This study concludes that the Guided Synectic model, when integrated with environmental content, can function as an effective dual-purpose pedagogical strategy: honing literary creativity and cultivating environmental character from an early age.

Abstract

Reading interest among elementary school students remains a challenge that requires systematic and interesting strategies. This study aims to describe the strategies used by teachers in implementing guided reading activities (Direct Reading Activity) using reading corners to develop fifth-grade students' reading interest. This qualitative research employs a case study design to explore teaching practices in real classroom contexts. The research was conducted at SD Negeri Sukosari 01, Madiun Regency, involving classroom teachers and library teachers. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation of reading activities, and analysis of lesson plans and reading corner documentation. Thematic analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that teachers develop three strategic approaches: (1) integrating reading corners as an integral part of the learning environment, (2) implementing modified Direct Reading Activity stages according to student characteristics, and (3) creating post-reading activities that connect reading experiences with students' daily lives. These strategies demonstrate teachers' creativity in transforming reading corners from mere physical spaces into interactive literacy learning centers.

Abstract

Reading and writing are two interconnected literacy skills that require a structured approach in elementary school. This study aims to describe the strategies used by teachers in guiding fourth-grade students to write reading journals through the integration of intensive reading techniques and mind mapping methods. This qualitative research uses a case study design to explore teaching practices in real classroom contexts. The research was conducted at SD Negeri Jetis, Dagangan District, Madiun Regency, involving classroom teachers and fourth-grade students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation of reading and writing activities, and analysis of student work and lesson plans. Thematic analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that teachers develop three main strategic stages: (1) guiding intensive reading with focus questions to identify key information, (2) assisting in organizing ideas through structured mind mapping, and (3) facilitating the transformation of visual maps into coherent written journal entries. These strategies demonstrate how mind mapping serves as a cognitive bridge that helps students systematically process reading content and express it in written form. This study concludes that the combination of intensive reading techniques and mind mapping methods provides an effective scaffold for developing students' reading journal writing skills.
