Jurnal Pendidikan Nusantara merupakan wadah ilmiah yang memfokuskan diri pada publikasi naskah di bidang Ilmu Pendidikan dan Humaniora, termasuk Pendidikan Agama Islam. Pertama kali terbit pada bulan Februari 2016, jurnal ini telah mencapai 24 edisi hingga saat ini. Ruang lingkupnya meliputi hasil penelitian maupun kajian analitis-kritis tentang isu-isu pendidikan dan sosial kemasyarakatan dengan tujuan menjadi sarana kredibel bagi akademisi serta peneliti untuk membagikan karya, studi, makalah, dan berbagai bentuk penelitian lainnya. Melalui publikasi tersebut, Jurnal Pendidikan Nusantara berupaya meraih reputasi nasional dan turut mempromosikan kemajuan, pemahaman, serta pengembangan, pendidikan, dan Humaniora. Dalam pengelolaannya, Jurnal Pendidikan Nusantara menerapkan proses seleksi naskah melalui mitra bestari (reviewer) dan editor guna menjamin mutu setiap artikel yang diterbitkan. Informasi lengkap mengenai pedoman penulisan dan proses pemuatan artikel dapat diakses melalui situs resmi di https://journal.sepercenter.org. Jurnal ini diterbitkan oleh Lembaga Sepercenter yang berlokasi di Kota Banda Aceh, Indonesia, dengan format terbitan cetak dan daring (online) yang dapat diunduh secara bebas.Untuk meningkatkan aksesibilitas dan kontribusi ilmu pengetahuan, Jurnal Pendidikan Nusantara hadir secara berkala sebanyak tiga kali dalam satu tahun. Dengan demikian, peneliti dan akademisi di berbagai bidang studi diharapkan dapat memanfaatkan jurnal ini sebagai media publikasi dan diskusi ilmiah. Keberadaan jurnal ini tidak hanya memperkaya khazanah penelitian di bidang pendidikan dan humaniora, tetapi juga menjadi rujukan penting bagi perkembangan studi pendidikan, khususnya di ranah keilmuan Islam dan keindonesiaan.

Abstract

Students' low critical thinking skills are characterized by a lack of ability to analyze, evaluate, and relate religious material to real-life contexts. Conventional methods, which still dominate classroom learning, are considered less effective in promoting higher-order thinking skills. This study aims to determine the extent to which the use of Virtual Reality technology can shape and enhance students' critical thinking skills through a more immersive and interactive understanding of religious concepts. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the posttest-only control group design. The sample consists of, the experimental class, which received instruction using Virtual Reality-based learning, and the control class, which used the discussion method. The research instrument was an essay test designed to measure students’ critical thinking skills based on the following indicators: analysis, evaluation, inference, and argument assessment. Data analysis was conducted using the Independent Sample t-Test with the help of SPSS software.The results showed a significant difference in critical thinking skills between the experimental and control classes. This is evidenced by the one-tailed significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, which indicates that the Virtual Reality learning method has a positive effect on improving students’ critical thinking skills. Therefore, the application of Virtual Reality technology in Islamic Religious Education can be a strategic alternative to foster 21st-century thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the implementation of religious extracurricular activities in shaping the spiritual character of students at Madrasah Aliyah Turus. The research questions in this study include: (1) how the implementation of religious extracurricular activities shapes the spiritual character of students; (2) what are the forms and types of religious extracurricular activities organised; and (3) what are the obstacles to their implementation. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include observation, documentation, and interviews, while data analysis is carried out through four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that religious extracurricular activities play an important role in shaping the spiritual character of students through advice, encouragement, motivation, inspiration, and guidance, as well as the habit of good morals and the enforcement of discipline. In addition, these activities serve as a means of evaluating the development of students' character in their daily lives. These findings confirm that religious extracurricular activities have a significant contribution to the formation of spiritual character in the madrasah environment.

Abstract

 This study aims to systematically examine the development of Indonesian language teaching materials using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, analyzing 14 articles. The results of the study indicate five main trends in the development of Indonesian language teaching materials: the use of digital technology such as Augmented Reality, Flipbooks, electronic modules, and animated videos; the integration of character education; the integration of local wisdom; the selection of development models such as ADDIE and Borg & Gall; and the use of children's literature to strengthen literacy. Furthermore, dominant literacy issues were identified, such as a low understanding of the intrinsic elements of texts and a lack of variety in teaching materials used by teachers. This study confirms that the development of innovative contextual, and technology-based teaching materials is an urgent need to improve the quality of Indonesian language learning and support the achievement of the Independent Curriculum. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for researchers and educators in developing teaching materials that are more relevant to the needs and characteristics of students.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the growing importance of public speaking in improving the quality of education in Indonesia, particularly in the era of Society 5.0. The development of Society 5.0 requires the education sector to possess more adaptive communication skills that align with technological advancements and the demands of 21st-century competencies. In this context, public speaking becomes a crucial skill that needs to be strengthened to ensure learning processes are more effective and relevant. This research aims to examine the urgency of public speaking skills in enhancing the quality of education in Indonesia during the Society 5.0 era. The study employs a descriptive-analytical approach by reviewing various literature related to public speaking, modern competencies, and educational transformation. The findings indicate that public speaking skills help clarify communication between teachers and students, enhance students’ self-confidence, and support collaborative and project-based learning. Moreover, this skill contributes to the integration of technology in education, such as digital presentations, educational videos, and virtual discussions. The study also finds that strengthening public speaking fosters an active and communicative learning environment, which positively impacts learning outcomes. Overall, public speaking is identified as an essential competency that must be systematically integrated into educational practices to support the development of high-quality and competitive education in the Society 5.0 era.
