Abstract

The small-scale chip (keripik) entrepreneurs in Candiwatu Village, Pacet District, continue to face challenges related to business legality, branding, and digital marketing. This community service program aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of these micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through assistance in obtaining Business Identification Numbers (NIB) and Home Industry Food Permits (PIRT), product branding training, and the use of social media and e-commerce for digital marketing. The implementation method adopts a participatory approach through observation, training, and intensive mentoring. The results indicate a significant improvement in the partners' understanding and business practices, such as the appearance of product labels, creation of digital business accounts, and active efforts in online product promotion. This program demonstrates that a digital-based empowerment strategy can effectively build MSME competitiveness in the era of digital transformation.

Abstract

Child marriage is still a serious problem in Indonesia, including Cirebon Regency which records hundreds of marriage dispensation applications every year. This practice has a negative impact on children's rights, educational continuation, reproductive health, and the quality of human resources to deal with the demographic bonus. This Community Service activity aims to improve legal knowledge and reproductive health, change attitudes towards child marriage, and encourage the formation of an Anti-Child Marriage Village Forum in Ciwaringin District. The program will be carried out in July-September 2025 by involving 45 participants (teenagers, parents, community leaders, village cadres) through a participatory and collaborative approach. The stages include initial observation, training and workshops, project-based campaigns, village forum formation, and evaluation. Data were collected by pre-post questionnaires, observations, in-depth interviews, and photo/video documentation. The results of the evaluation showed a significant increase in legal knowledge (54.3 → 82.7), knowledge of reproductive health (48.5 → 79.1), and attitudes in support of child marriage postponement (61.2 → 83.9). The participation rate reached >90%, with the active involvement of PKK teenagers and mothers in the production of posters, leaflets, digital content, and the establishment of village forums through the Village Head Decree. This activity concluded that community-based reproductive health and legal education is effective in improving community knowledge and attitudes and triggering local leadership for child marriage prevention advocacy, although real behavioral change requires sustained cross-sectoral interventions.

Abstract

This community service program aims to support the digital transformation of the Murni Jaya Benowo automotive workshop by developing an online booking service website. The main issues faced by the UMKM include manual service booking, irregular scheduling, communication errors, and limited customer data documentation. The implementation method consisted of needs assessment, system design, website development, system installation, and training for the workshop owner. The results indicate that the developed website successfully provides online booking features, scheduling management, and an admin dashboard to streamline service operations. The training improved the owner's ability to operate the system independently, ensuring the sustainability of the digital solution. This digitalization initiative positively impacts operational efficiency, enhances service professionalism, and improves accessibility for customers. The program is expected to serve as a model for other UMKM to adopt digital technologies and strengthen competitiveness in the digital era.

Abstract

The rapid growth of electric vehicles (EVs) has encouraged the development of innovative promotion strategies that combine sustainability narratives and digital technology. This community service activity was integrated into the World Vocational College Skills Competition 2025 with the theme “Live Ignites Green Light,” focusing on the promotion of China’s EV products in the Indonesian market through live commerce. The activity involved vocational students from Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya as the main actors, supported by lecturers and international partners, in designing and implementing live streaming–based promotional content for the Wuling Air EV. A descriptive qualitative approach supported by quantitative performance indicators was applied, including observation, reflective discussions, and analysis of live streaming engagement metrics. The results indicate that the activity enhanced students’ technical skills, communication abilities, leadership, and cross-cultural collaboration competencies. In addition, the live commerce approach contributed to increasing public awareness of eco-friendly mobility and strengthening positive perceptions of EV products. The achievement of a Bronze Medal in the international competition demonstrates the effectiveness of integrating vocational education, digital marketing innovation, and community-oriented engagement. This activity highlights the potential of competition-based community service as a model for developing globally competitive vocational talents and supporting sustainable mobility transitions

Abstract

Waste management in rural areas is often dominated by open burning practices due to limited access to environmentally friendly technologies. Desa Tanjung faces similar challenges, where household waste is commonly burned without proper treatment. This community service activity aimed to analyze the influence of rocket stove construction on community empowerment in household waste management in Desa Tanjung. A community-based participatory approach with a qualitative descriptive method was applied, involving local communities in the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. The findings indicate that the rocket stove effectively enables controlled combustion of dry organic waste with reduced smoke emissions and produces ash residues of approximately 1–5%, which can be utilized as plant fertilizer. Moreover, the program contributed to increased community participation, strengthened collective action through mutual cooperation, and encouraged behavioral changes in perceiving waste as a useful resource. The involvement of local waste management officers also fostered the emergence of local leaders in managing household waste. These results suggest that the implementation of appropriate technology such as a rocket stove not only provides technical solutions but also supports community empowerment and initiates social transformation toward sustainable waste management practices

Abstract

Milkfish is one of the leading fishery commodities in Gumeng Village, Gresik Regency. However, its utilization remains limited due to the presence of numerous fine bones and low product diversification. This community service aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of PKK POKJA 3 members through training on producing boneless milkfish noodles. The program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving observation, interviews, demonstrations, and hands-on practice. The results indicated significant improvements in participants' knowledge, technical skills, and entrepreneurial motivation. Participants successfully mastered deboning techniques, noodle production, hygienic packaging, and product labeling. The program also enhanced the economic value of milkfish while supporting local food diversification and women's empowerment. Therefore, the training model can serve as a sustainable community empowerment strategy for coastal villages with abundant fishery resources.

Abstract

Background: Milkfish (bandeng)-based micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in coastal villages of Indonesia remain underdeveloped, as shown by the PKK Mawar Mekar women's group in Gumeng Village, Gresik, which still relies on raw or traditionally processed milkfish with low added value and limited branding and digital marketing capacity. Purpose: This study aims to formulate an integrated MSME empowerment model combining product innovation (milkfish dimsum diversification), branding, and digital marketing to strengthen household and village economic capacity. Method: A descriptive qualitative approach with a participatory action research design was applied, involving 28 members of PKK Mawar Mekar. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, documentation, and structured training, then analyzed descriptively with source triangulation. Results: Findings indicate improvement in participants' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor competencies, marked by their capability to produce three hygienic milkfish dimsum variants, apply graphic-design-based branding and labeling, and independently manage digital promotional content. Analysis through Community Empowerment Theory, Human Capital Theory, Diffusion of Innovation, and Resource-Based View confirms that simultaneous integration of the three pillars accelerated participants' transformation from commodity driver to value driver. Implication: This study contributes a replicable empowerment model for coastal fisheries-based MSMEs and enriches community-empowerment literature on local commodity downstreaming.

Abstract

Gumeng Village, Bungah District, Gresik Regency has considerable fishery potential, especially Laosan fish, which has been more marketed in the form of fresh fish so that the economic added value is still limited. This community service program aims to increase the knowledge and skills of the community in developing processed laosan fish products that have added value. The activity was carried out through the delivery of materials, demonstrations, direct practices, interactive discussions, and product evaluations by involving Family Welfare Empowerment women and micro, small, and medium business actors in Gumeng Village. Participants were guided in the process of processing laosan fish into nuggets, shredded meat, and otak-otak and were given an understanding of the right processing techniques to produce quality products. The implementation of the activity went smoothly, and participants actively participated by participating in each stage of practice, asking questions, and providing input during the product tasting session. This program shows that product diversification is able to increase the added value of Laosan fish while strengthening the community's capacity to develop processed products that are more innovative and competitive so that it has the potential to support the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises in Gumeng Village.
