Abstract

Research Problems: Goal setting is a psychological technique designed to help individuals establish specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. Research Objectives: Implementing the goal-setting module for athletes with special needs is expected to enhance their focus, discipline, and drive to excel. Methods: This study employs an experimental design. In this design, a group of athletes is given treatment by using a goal-setting module. The population and sample of this study consist of 12 special needs football athletes from the PERSAS (Persatuan Sepakbola Amputasi Surabaya) club. Results: Overall, the athletes’ ability to set short-term goals showed a positive response. By the end of the period, 6 athletes (50%) were able to set more than five short-term goals, 3 athletes (25%) set 3-4 goals, 2 athletes (16%) set two goals, and 1 athlete (9%) managed to set only one short-term goal. The data indicate that athletes with more experience in terms of achievements and age tend to have a greater ability to determine multiple goals they wish to achieve. Conclusion: This study concludes that guiding the goal-setting process significantly improves the ego and task orientation, as well as the goal-setting strategies, of PERSAS Surabaya amputee football athletes. This ability to set goals positively impacts their persistence, motivation, and self-confidence.

Research Objectives: This research aims to explore the youth's understanding of Semarang City's meaning of sport and physical activity. Methods: This study uses a qualitative phenomenological approach with data collection methods through in-depth interviews using purposive sampling with 18 informants aged 15-29 who are active in sports in Semarang City. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Results: The results showed that physiological needs are still the main needs to maintain health, increase metabolism, and optimise body functions. Conclusion: This research shows differences with previous studies that emphasise security and social needs, but this research reveals more that physiological needs remain the main motivation. However, aspects such as well-being and refreshing also emerged as important factors, detailing that sport and physical activity were also seen to occupy leisure time, cope with stress, and improve mood. Further research is recommended to explore the influence of security and social needs in sports and physical activity motivations.

Methods: This type of research is a type of quantitative descriptive research using the survey method. Results: Based on the results of the research, the results of the status and nutritional needs of grade 10 students of SMAS Karya Wisata Singaraja were obtained, several students had not reached optimal nutritional status. Of the total 54 students studied, 5 people or about 9% of students had severe obesity nutritional status, while 32 people or around 59% of students had good/ideal nutritional status. In addition, 12 people or about 22% of students have a mild lean nutritional status, 2 people or about 4% of students have a severely emaciated nutritional status, and 3 people or about 6% of students have a mild obese nutritional status. As for macro nutritional needs, the average carbohydrate nutritional needs of students were 455.94 grams with a median of 455 grams, the highest value of 684 grams and the lowest value of 320 grams. The average protein requirement is 113.99 grams, with a median of 111 grams, the highest value of 171 grams and the lowest value of 80 grams. Then the average fat requirement was 84.43 grams with a median of 82 grams, the highest value of 127 grams and the lowest value of 59 grams. Conclusion: So that it was concluded that the nutritional status of grade 10 students of SMAS Karya Wisata Singaraja, showed that there were still some students who had not reached the optimal nutritional status and needed treatment from Physical Health and Education teachers and the parents of students.

Research Objectives: This research aims to analyse the nutritional status and needs of class X.2 students at SMAS Karya Wisata Singaraja. Methods: This type of research is quantitative descriptive research using survey methods. This research was carried out by measuring and calculating students' nutritional status through the Body Mass Index according to Age (BMI/A). Then classify the nutritional status of students into the categories of mild thinness, severe thinning, ideal, mild obesity and severe obesity.  Results: Based on the research results, the nutritional status and needs of students were obtained, several students had not reached optimal nutritional status. Of the total 26 people in the mildly underweight category, there were 9 people (35%), 2 people in the severely underweight category (8%), 11 people in the normal category (42%), 3 people in the mild obesity category (11%), and 1 person in the severe obesity category (4%). Meanwhile, for macro nutritional needs, the average carbohydrate nutritional requirement for students is 431 grams, the average protein requirement is 80 grams, and the average fat requirement is 108 grams. Conclusion: The nutritional status of students showed that there were still some students who had not reached optimal nutritional status. So, there needs to be treatment from PE teachers giving additional movement tasks and parental support in providing adequate nutritional intake.

Abstract

Research Problems: The kicking technique in taekwondo is predominantly utilized, necessitating significant leg muscle power to achieve optimal performance. Taekwondo is closely associated with weight categories in competitions. Body composition and leg muscle power are important factors in implementing the correct techniques for kicking and leg movements. Research Objectives: This study aims to determine the relationship between body composition and leg muscle power among East Java taekwondo athletes. Methods: The participants in this study included 51 East Java taekwondo athletes, comprising 27 male and 24 female athletes. Data were collected through body composition measurements using Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) and the Countermovement Jump (CMJ) test to measure the leg muscle power of taekwondo athletes. This study employs a descriptive quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach. Results: A significant relationship was found between body weight, height, Fat-Free Mass (FFM), Skeletal Muscular Muscle Mass (SMM), and Percent Body Fat (PBF) with leg muscle power and jump height, with a p-value <0.001. Conclusion: Body composition significantly influences leg muscle power, which in turn supports the performance of taekwondo athletes in jumps and kicks.

Abstract

Research Problems: Swimming learning in Indonesia, especially in schools, still faces many obstacles that must be considered. The problem that often occurs is the limited availability of adequate facilities. Many educators or trainers complain about the existing facilities, especially in rural areas. Research Objectives: This research aims to utilize assistive devices for swimming learning outcomes in children aged 6-8 years. Method: This research uses an experimental research method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design. The population used was all 50 children who took part in Club Aquaspint. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique and obtained a sample of 17 children. The research instrument was carried out by observation. Data analysis uses descriptive statistics which includes descriptive data analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test. Results: The results of the pretest descriptive statistical data analysis obtained a mean value of 8.29, while the post-test obtained a mean value of 11.24. The results of the pretest and post-test hypothesis tests on Equal variances assumed obtained a tcount value of 7.773 > ttable value of 2.131 or a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, so Ha was accepted, and Ho was rejected. Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is an influence of swimming learning aids on the swimming learning outcomes of children aged 6-8 years. The limitation that researchers found was that this study only involved 17 children aged 6-8 years, so the results cannot be applied to children outside that age range.

Methods: Quantitative research involved 68 students consisting of 31 boys and 37 girls aged 13-14. This research instrument was height, weight, and the PACER Test. Data were analysed using Independent Sample T-test, Pearson Correlations, and Multiple Regression Analysis. Results: There’s relationship between BMI and physical education learning outcomes of male student at SMP Negeri. There’s no relationship both BMI and PACER Test to physical education learning outcomes. The three variables contributed 21.8% to this research. Conclusion: The better the BMI category, physical education learning outcomes will turn out. Meanwhile, only physical education learning outcomes who influenced based on students’ school also this research that schools and teachers should promote healthy lifestyles and encourage students to always be active in supporting student achievement.
