Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of peer groups on promiscuity among students majoring in Economics Education. The college years are an important transitional phase during which students form their identities and expand their social networks. In this context, peers serve as significant sources of emotional support and behavioral references. However, intensive interaction with peers can also encourage individuals to engage in deviant behavior, such as promiscuity, which is often associated with premarital sex, alcohol consumption, and drug use. The research results indicate a positive and significant correlation between the peer environment and promiscuity, with a calculated t-value (10.055) exceeding the table t-value (1.69236) at a significance level of 0.000, which is less than 0.05. Each one percent increase in the peer environment contributes to a 1.153 increase in promiscuity, indicating that the higher the peer environment, the higher the promiscuity among students. The coefficient of determination of 0.754 indicates that the friendship environment can explain 75.4% of the variation in promiscuity. This study is supported by Bandura and Sutherland's theory, which explains that deviant behavior is learned through social interaction and observation of peer behavior. These findings emphasize the importance of understanding the dynamics of the peer environment in efforts to prevent promiscuous behavior among college students. Thus, this study is expected to provide insights for the development of effective intervention strategies to reduce promiscuous behavior on campus.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of inflation and the open unemployment rate on the number of poor people in North Sumatra Province during the period 2007–2020. The focus of this study is to determine the extent to which macroeconomic factors such as inflation and unemployment affect poverty levels in areas with diverse economic structures between urban and rural areas. This study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency  (BPS). The analytical method used is multiple linear regression with the Ordinary Least Square  (OLS) approach, and is complemented by classical assumption tests such as normality, autocorrelation, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity tests to ensure the model used meets the BLUE  (Best Linear Unbiased Estimator) criteria. The results of the study indicate that partially, the unemployment variable has a positive and significant effect on poverty with a probability value of 0.0006 <0.05, which means that every 1 percent increase in unemployment increases the number of poor people by 0.0419 percent. Meanwhile, inflation also has a positive and significant effect on poverty with a probability value of 0.0305 < 0.05, where every 1 percent increase in inflation increases the number of poor people by 0.0722 percent. Simultaneously, inflation and unemployment have a significant effect on poverty with an R-Squared value of 0.6684. This finding emphasizes the importance of inflation control policies and job creation as strategic efforts to reduce poverty levels in North Sumatra Province.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the management of school leadership in improving teacher performance at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN). This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the subjects being the school principal and MIN teachers. Data collection techniques were carried out thru interviews, observations, and document studies. Data analysis was conducted thru the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured thru source and technique triangulation. The research results show that the management of the principal's leadership is carried out thru targeted work program planning, proportional organization of teachers' tasks, participatory leadership implementation, and supervision thru continuous academic supervision. In addition, the principal also provides continuous motivation, guidance, and coaching to the teachers. Communicative and humanistic leadership can enhance teachers' motivation, discipline, and responsibility in carrying out their professional duties. The conclusion of this research shows that the management of school principal leadership plays an important role in improving the performance of teachers at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN). Effective and sustainable leadership is the main factor in creating a conducive work environment and improving the quality of education in madrasahs.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology encourages the education sector to adapt through the use of digital learning technology. One of the developing innovations is the use of Learning Management System (LMS) in the learning process at secondary schools. This research aims to describe the utilisation of LMS in enhancing the effectiveness of learning. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with teachers and students as research subjects. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results show that the use of LMS can significantly enhance the effectiveness of learning. This is marked by increased student participation in learning activities, the development of learning independence, and the ease for teachers in managing materials, assignments, and learning evaluations. LMS also supports the creation of more flexible, structured, and interactive learning because it can be accessed anytime and anywhere. However, the utilisation of LMS still faces several obstacles, such as limited technological infrastructure and differences in digital literacy levels between teachers and students. Therefore, adequate support in terms of facilities and infrastructure, as well as the enhancement of digital competencies, is necessary so that the implementation of LMS can run optimally, effectively, and sustainably in improving the quality of learning in secondary schools.

Abstract

The development of the digital era brings significant changes to the world of education, especially in the formation of students' character. The ease of access to information and the massive use of digital technology not only have a positive impact but also pose various ethical and moral challenges. Therefore, character education has become an urgent necessity to shield students from the negative influences of technological development. Educational hadiths, as one of the main sources of Islamic teachings, play a strategic role in shaping the character of students with noble morals. This research aims to analyze the relevance of educational hadiths to the strengthening of character education for students in the digital era, particularly in building responsible digital ethics. The research method used is qualitative research with a library research approach thru the analysis of hadith books and Islamic education literature. The research results show that the values contained in educational hadiths, such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, manners, and self-control, have a strong relevance in shaping the character of students amidst the dynamics of the digital era. In addition, these values also play a role in shaping moral awareness and critical thinking skills in filtering digital information. The integration of hadith values in Islamic education can strengthen students' character to be wise in utilizing technology and ethical in the digital space.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is an educational policy designed to address the challenges of 21st-century learning by emphasising the strengthening of character and student competencies. One of the main focuses of the Merdeka Curriculum is the strengthening of the Pancasila Student Profile as a reflection of Indonesian students who are faithful, devoted to God Almighty, noble in character, independent, critical thinkers, creative, cooperative, and globally diverse. This research aims to analyse the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in enhancing the Pancasila Student Profile in educational units. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results show that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum through project-based learning, differentiated instruction, and strengthening school culture can encourage the development of students' character and competencies in accordance with the dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile. However, several obstacles are still found, such as teacher readiness, limited facilities, and uneven understanding of the concept. Therefore, continuous support and improvement of educators' competencies are needed to ensure the optimal implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of low parental support on student achievement and emotional well-being at the secondary education level. Using a qualitative approach and descriptive survey methods, data were collected through open-ended questionnaires distributed online to students in several urban areas in Indonesia, and triangulated through interviews and consultations with guidance and counseling teachers. The results indicate that low parental involvement, both academically and emotionally, has a direct impact on decreased learning motivation, limited understanding of material, and impaired psychological well-being. Students who do not receive attention or validation from their parents tend to experience feelings of neglect, stress, and ongoing anxiety. Furthermore, negative parental responses to academic failure exacerbate the emotional distress experienced by students. These findings emphasize the importance of active and empathetic parental involvement in supporting children's learning. This study recommends the need for strategic collaboration between schools and families through parenting training, teacher-parent communication forums, and family-based intervention programs to create a supportive and sustainable educational ecosystem.

Abstract

This study is a qualitative study using a library research approach, which is included in the literary research category. This method is carried out through reading, taking notes, synthesizing, and analyzing various relevant library sources, such as books, scientific journals, articles, and other documents. The focus of this study is to examine teachers' strategies in improving the reading literacy of elementary madrasah students through the use of interactive digital media. The results of the literature review indicate that the use of digital media such as audiovisual e-books, educational videos, and game-based applications can significantly increase students' interest, motivation, and reading skills. The role of teachers as facilitators and designers of adaptive learning is a key factor in the success of this digital media integration. This study also emphasizes the importance of teachers' digital literacy competencies, infrastructure readiness, and content suitability with Islamic values ​​and the local context. These findings reinforce the theories of social constructivism and multimedia learning, which emphasize the importance of social interaction and multisensory stimulation in the learning process. However, challenges such as the digital divide still need to be addressed through ongoing training and collaboration between stakeholders. The implications of this research point to an inclusive and sustainable digital learning transformation, with teachers as the main agents of change in building a contextual and valuable digital literacy culture in madrasas

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of using a Sharia-based Learning Management System  (LMS)  to support learning in Islamic schools. The main focus of this study is to identify the limitations of conventional LMSs in accommodating Islamic values ​​and to explore the contribution of Sharia-based LMSs in shaping the character of religious and noble students. The approach used was qualitative with library research methods, involving the analysis of various academic literature related to Islamic education and learning technology. Data were collected through an in-depth review of books, journals, and policy documents, then analyzed descriptively, critically, and thematically. The results show that conventional LMSs do not fully meet the needs of holistic Islamic education because they only focus on technical aspects. In contrast, Sharia-based LMSs have proven more effective in integrating spiritual values ​​through features such as prayer reminders, Islamic content, and etiquette-based communication ethics. This LMS not only improves the efficiency of online learning but also strengthens the development of students' Islamic character. Therefore, the implementation of a Sharia-based LMS is a strategic step in addressing the challenges of digitalization while maintaining the integrity of Islamic values ​​in education.

Abstract

The implementation of tahfizhul Quran carried out by tahfizh teachers/tutors to students in memorizing juz 30, some apply the science of tajwid and makhrajul huruf, others do not use it so that the implementation of tahfizh tutors varies and the appointment of tutors is still not appropriate according to each person's expertise. The formulation of the research problem is how the implementation of tahfizhul Quran in the morning assembly, efforts made in improving students' memorization of the Quran and obstacles in improving the memorization of the Quran of students of the Nur Ibrahimy Private Middle School Rantauprapat Labuhanbatu Regency. This type of research is qualitative and uses descriptive methods. The informants of this research are students and teachers/mentors of tahfizh of the Nur Ibrahimy Private Middle School. The data collection instruments used are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study are the implementation of tahfizhul Quran is an additional program and the passing grade of students of the Nur Ibrahimy Private Middle School. The implementation of tahfizhul Quran is a form of awareness for the creation of a generation of hafidz-hafidzah who are able to memorize 1 juz and can improve students' memorization of the Quran and the tahfizhul Quran program can involve Madrasah students in the implementation of Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran  (MTQ)  at the Regency and Provincial levels. Efforts have included holding several Quran memorization competitions, awarding prizes, and providing additional time for extracurricular activities. Challenges include a lack of awareness of memorization, which considers it merely rote memorization, laziness, overwork, and inadequate mentoring.
