Abstract

This research aims to determine the extent to which the use of PowerPoint-based learning media influences the learning activity of 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Medan. This research is motivated by the importance of learning media that can make the learning process more engaging, interactive, and easier for students to understand. The approach used is quantitative with the simple linear regression method to analyze the relationship between the use of PowerPoint media and students' learning activity levels. The research sample consisted of 32 tenth-grade students selected using the total sampling technique. The research instrument, a questionnaire, has been tested for validity and reliability, and all items have been declared suitable for use. The research results indicate that using PowerPoint media has a positive and significant impact on student learning activity. This is evidenced by a calculated t-value of 2.695, which is higher than the table t-value of 1.69726, and a significance value of 0.011, which is less than 0.05. The coefficient of determination value of 0.195 indicates that 19.5% of the variation in student learning activity is influenced by the use of PowerPoint media. Thus, it can be concluded that PowerPoint-based learning media is effective in increasing student activity because it can present material visually, attractively, and in an easier-to-understand manner, thereby encouraging students to be more involved in the learning process.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of the number of business owners on price stability in an oligopoly market structure. In an oligopoly market, the interaction between business entities plays a crucial role in determining prices. A small number of businesses tends to create price instability due to interdependent competitive strategies, including potential collusion or aggressive price reactions. Conversely, as the number of businesses increases, competition becomes fiercer and the tendency for prices to stabilize also increases. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach thru literature studies and microeconomic theory analysis using the Cournot and Bertrand models. The study results show that market structure significantly determines price formation patterns, with the number of business operators being an important variable in creating market efficiency and price stability. Additionally, strategic interdependence between firms explains the phenomenon of price stickiness and extreme fluctuations in oligopolistic markets. This finding contributes to understanding the dynamics of oligopoly and the policy implications for regulating a healthier and more competitive market structure. This research also recommends the importance of regulation to increase the number of business actors in order to foster a fair competitive climate and stable prices, thereby protecting the interests of consumers broadly.

Abstract

The development of digital technology encourages higher education institutions to adopt more flexible, adaptive, and relevant learning strategies. Students as a digital generation need short, practical, and technology-based learning methods. One approach that is considered capable of answering these challenges is microlearning. Microlearning is a learning strategy that presents material in the form of small and dense units, which supports a fast and efficient learning process. Learning media plays an important role in optimizing this strategy, because it is able to convey content visually, auditorily, and interactively. The use of media such as short videos, animations, and infographics helps students understand concepts more easily and interestingly. This study aims to analyze the use of microlearning media as an innovative solution to improve the quality of student learning. In addition to exploring the form and effectiveness of the media used, this study also highlights various implementation challenges, such as limited technology infrastructure and digital literacy. The results of the study show that microlearning media is not only a learning aid, but also a driving force for the transformation of higher education. Therefore, a systematic implementation strategy and institutional support are needed so that microlearning media can be applied optimally and sustainably in the campus environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the influence of educational research collaboration between Malaysia and Indonesia in supporting the development of science in the Southeast Asian region. Collaboration between countries in the field of research has become an important strategy to face global challenges and improve the quality of higher education. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study examines the various forms of academic cooperation that have been established over the past decade, including joint scientific publications, faculty and student exchange programs, the organization of regional scientific conferences, and the establishment of research networks involving institutions from both countries. Data was collected through document reviews, institutional reports, and scientific publications accessed from reputable sources. The results show that Malaysia Indonesia research collaboration contributes significantly to increasing scientific productivity, as shown by the significant upward trend in the number of joint publications from year to year. In addition, this collaboration encourages diversification of fields of study, strengthens cross-cultural knowledge exchange, and shapes a more inclusive and competitive research ecosystem at the regional level. Furthermore, it reinforces Southeast Asia's strategic position as a fast-growing region in contributing to the global knowledge landscape. The study recommends the need for a more structured regional research network, increased investment in cross-border academic cooperation, and harmonization of higher education policies in the region as strategic steps for the future. The findings are expected to serve as a basis for policy makers and stakeholders in designing collaborative strategies that are sustainable and impactful.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has had a significant impact on the world of education, including the learning process of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). PAI teachers are required not only to master religious material but also to possess digital literacy skills to be able to guide students in facing the challenges of the modern era. Digital literacy in this context goes beyond the technical ability to use technology, but also encompasses ethical, critical, and religious understanding of media. Thus, PAI teachers play a crucial role in shaping a generation that is not only digitally literate but also able to use technology wisely in accordance with Islamic values. This study used a library study method by reviewing various literature related to digital literacy, the role of teachers, and Islamic education. The results of the study indicate that PAI teachers have a strategic role in three main aspects: as guides of digital ethics, facilitators of technology utilization in learning, and role models in the wise use of digital media. This aligns with the needs of education in the era of the Industrial Revolution 5.0, where technological mastery must be balanced with the instilling of spiritual and moral values. Challenges that arise include limited teacher digital competence, limited resources, and the rapid flow of negative information that has the potential to damage students' character. However, with the right strategies such as integrating Islamic digital literacy into learning, digital training for teachers, and collaboration with parents, Islamic Religious Education teachers can shape a digitally literate generation that is intelligent and has an Islamic character, so that they are ready to face the complex dynamics of global life.

Abstract

Character education is a key focus of the national education system, particularly at the junior high school (SMP) level. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers hold a strategic position in integrating character values ​​into the learning process, both in and outside the classroom. This study aims to analyze PAI teachers' perceptions of the implementation of character education in junior high schools. The research method used is a desk study by analyzing literature related to character education, the role of teachers, and the implementation of Islamic values ​​in schools. The results show that most PAI teachers view character education as an integral part of the mission of Islamic education, as it not only teaches cognitive aspects but also shapes students' attitudes, morals, and spirituality. However, teachers also face several challenges, such as time constraints, the influence of the digital environment, and a lack of support from some parents. This study confirms that the implementation of character education will be effective if PAI teachers are given adequate space to integrate Islamic values ​​into the curriculum, receive institutional support, and build collaboration with all involved parties.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of academic pressure on students' mental health in a modern, competitive, results-oriented education system. Current education is characterized by high demands, a dense curriculum, and cognitive-based assessment standards, which often neglect students' emotional aspects. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive survey method, involving 30 high school students in grades 11 and 12 from three major cities in Indonesia. Data were collected through an open-ended questionnaire and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results showed that the majority of students experienced academic pressure that negatively impacted their mental health, such as stress, anxiety, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and academic burnout. Furthermore, students also found it difficult to manage their time between schoolwork and personal needs. Although some students stated they received support from their schools, most felt that the education system still did not adequately address the balance between academic achievement and mental health. Therefore, a more humane educational policy reform is needed, with an empathetic and responsive approach to students' psychological conditions. This study recommends the importance of integrating mental health support services into the curriculum and learning system in schools

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the implementation of a holistic Islamic education model on character formation and student achievement at MIN 2 Labuhanbatu Rantauprapat. Holistic Islamic education is an approach that emphasizes the integration of spiritual, intellectual, and social values ​​in the learning process, which is believed to be able to shape a child's personality that is balanced and has noble morals. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational study design. The study population was 100 students, with a sample of 30 students taken through a saturated sampling technique from class VA consisting of 15 boys and 15 girls. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire instrument designed based on indicators of holistic Islamic education, covering cognitive, affective, spiritual, and social aspects. Data analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between the implementation of holistic Islamic education and character formation and student achievement. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of a holistic Islamic education model has a significant effect on character formation and improving children's learning achievement. These findings reinforce the urgency of a comprehensive educational approach based on Islamic values ​​in early childhood education. The implications of the results of this study are expected to be a strategic reference for educational institutions and policy makers in designing integrative, contextual, and sustainable learning models.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of a holistic learning approach in strengthening character education in Islamic elementary schools. Education at this level is not only aimed at mastering academic knowledge, but also instilling moral, spiritual, and social values ​​​​in accordance with Islamic teachings. The reality in the field shows that learning practices are still dominated by conventional methods that emphasize memorization, while character building is often positioned as an additional aspect. This creates a gap between the ideal goals of Islamic education and the implementation of daily learning. This study used a literature study method by analyzing various literature in the form of books, scientific articles, and relevant curriculum documents. A descriptive qualitative approach was used to identify key concepts, compare expert views, and compile a synthesis regarding holistic learning and its relevance to character education in Islamic elementary schools. The results show that a holistic approach is able to strengthen character education by integrating cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and spiritual aspects in the learning process. Strategies that can be implemented include integrative thematic learning, Project Based Learning, teacher role models, religious habits, and the development of an Islamic school culture. However, challenges faced include limited teacher competence, limited learning facilities, and an educational orientation that emphasizes academic achievement

Abstract

This research is motivated by the implementation of structured and highly disciplined teaching staff management at SMP A. Wahid Hasyim Tebuireng, which focuses on improving the quality of learning through teaching staff personnel management. The objectives of this study are: (1) to determine the performance management of teachers, (2) to determine the quality of student learning, and (3) to analyze the implementation of teaching staff performance in improving the quality of student learning at SMP A. Wahid Hasyim Tebuireng. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through data processing, categorization, and interpretation. The results of the study indicate that management has an important role in the education system because it is able to optimize human resources in a directed manner to achieve institutional goals. Based on GR Terry's theory, management functions include planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising. The implementation of these four functions at SMP A. Wahid Hasyim is running well and has a positive impact on improving the quality of learning. However, it was found that the madrasah still needs to optimize training and guidance related to the use of learning technology, especially in the preparation of lesson plans, syllabi, teaching methods, and teaching materials to support the effectiveness of the learning process.
