Abstract

The values of khitbah contained in authentic hadith are indeed important to study. Remembering the khitbah here is the process before the consent qabul occurs in marriage. Whereas marriage is a very strong bond and the longest worship in life, therefore as Muslims we must follow the guidance of the Prophet, remembering that Rasulullah SAW is our example. Making the values in this hadith very important, steps must be taken to revitalize these values. One of them is by analyzing several hadiths which explain the terms and conditions of khitbah in Islam. For this study the authors used qualitative methods with thematic study analysis. The author’s object is to discuss the values in the hadith and how to maintain the glory of women. Where the results of this literature research explain that the purpose of the prophet’s hadiths is to glorify women and not even be rigid in providing protection for the rights and obligations of husbands and wives.

Abstract

Contemporary Hadith studies have increasingly been framed within a rigid dichotomy between the normative approach, which regards Hadith as an authoritative religious source, and revisionist historiographical approaches that primarily question its historical authenticity. This polarization has left unresolved scholarly debates concerning the fluid boundaries between Prophetic Hadith, Qiṣaṣ al-Anbiyāʾ, and Isrāʾīliyyāt in the formative period of Islamic literature. This study aims to reconstruct the implications of Roberto Tottoli's theory of genre fluidity for redefining Hadith as a literary category while examining its interaction with Isrāʾīliyyāt narratives in early Islamic literary traditions. Employing a qualitative library-based approach, this research adopts a figure-study method by critically examining Tottoli's principal works through genre criticism and placing them in dialogue with the epistemological perspectives of classical Hadith scholars, particularly Ibn al-Ṣalāḥ, Ibn Taymiyyah, and Ibn Kathīr. The findings demonstrate that during the pre-tadwīn period, the boundaries between Hadith, historical narratives, Qiṣaṣ al-Anbiyāʾ, and Isrāʾīliyyāt remained fluid and mutually interconnected. In contrast, the post-tadwīn period witnessed the gradual establishment of disciplinary boundaries through the epistemology of isnād and textual verification, distinguishing canonical Prophetic traditions from broader narrative traditions. This study proposes a dialogical synthesis in which Hadith is understood simultaneously as a literary genre that evolved historically and as a normative source whose authority was secured through the epistemological framework of classical Hadith scholarship, thereby contributing a more balanced perspective to contemporary Hadith Studies.

Abstract

This study examines misogynistic narratives in the hadith tradition by investigating how specific hadiths concerning women have been constructed and legitimized as dominant discourses within Muslim societies. The analysis focuses on hadiths portraying women as sources of temptation (fitnah), deficient in intellect and religion, unqualified for leadership, restricted in their mobility, and created from a crooked rib. The study employs Asma Barlas's critical hermeneutics as a supporting interpretive approach to distinguish between the hadith text, its socio-historical context, and its interpretive tradition, thereby identifying patriarchal assumptions embedded in their reception and interpretation. Michel Foucault's genealogical approach serves as the primary analytical framework to trace the historical processes through which these interpretations were produced, codified, legitimized, and reproduced within relations of power. The findings demonstrate that misogynistic tendencies are not inherent in the hadith texts themselves but are products of interpretive constructions shaped by patriarchal socio-historical contexts. Genealogical analysis further reveals that these interpretations were institutionalized through hadith commentaries, Islamic jurisprudence, and religious institutions, eventually evolving into a regime of truth that positioned women in subordinate social and religious roles. This study argues that the critique should be directed not at the authority of hadith as a source of Islamic teaching, but at the historical processes through which patriarchal interpretations have been produced and sustained.

Abstract

The hadith regarding the blessing of women (yumn al-mar'ah) narrated by Imam Ahmad (no. 24478) is often misinterpreted literally, potentially reducing women to objects of biological utility. This study aims to analyze the narration quality and the meaning of the hadith to ensure its relevance for contemporary Muslim society. Employing a literature research design, this study utilizes Mahmud Thahan's takhrij method for sanad analysis and the Maʿnā Cum Maghzā approach for matan analysis, using primary data from Musnad Ahmad supported by scholarly literature. The results demonstrate that the hadith is ḥasan li-żātih and elevated to ṣaḥīḥ li-gairih due to corroborating narrations. Historically, the hadith criticizes social practices that complicate marriage by emphasizing taysīr (ease) in khitbah, dowry, and fertility. Dynamically, the ease of khitbah and dowry underscores fairness, while the concept of the womb has shifted toward a contextual understanding of social and biological benefits. Consequently, the study concludes that the hadith affirms the essential benefits of marriage within the framework of hifẓ al-dīn, hifẓ al-nafs, and hifẓ al-nasl

Abstract

This research aims to examine the phenomenon of khalwat that often occurs in society where the engagement phase is the first step of taaruf before entering marriage. During this period there are other things that must be considered by the prospective bride and groom and their parents, namely regarding the ethics of association during the khitbah (engagement) period. The ingredients in the customary practice of the engagement community are considered as cultural legality where the prospective spouses have considered mahrom with khalwat (to be alone) which is allowed by their parents. Although in reality this is wrong because it violates islamic law. This article explains the khalwat phenomenon that occurs in commuity, especially in Bluto village, Sumenep Regency. This reseach is included in empirical legal research methods. As for the primary data sources, they were obtained directly from the public through an interview process and secondary data were sourced from literacies in books, jounals, articles, and hadith related to the theme of this article. Data collection techniques se have khalwat with the opposite sex who are not mahram (fiance) considered normal as a form of introduction or approach to mutual understanding between partners before entering into marriage as long as this is still at a reasonable stage and when viewed from a hadith perspective and the Al-Qur’an seclusion with non-mahrams is not permissible or unlawful even if the status has been preached.

Corrupt behavior has developed into a serious and destructive problem throughout the world, affecting many countries, including Indonesia. In the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, corrupt behavior is described as narrated by Sahih Bukhari number 3196. This hadith discusses corruption in the form of taking other people's rights and this hadith is one of the hadiths that can help people avoid corrupt behavior. This research uses qualitative methods based on library research, books, journals, and scriptures. This research is based on the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW and strengthened by the thoughts of Yusuf al-Qardhawi. This research aims to find out how the hadith narrated by Imam Bukhari No. 3196 regarding corruption is understood according to Yusuf al-Qaradawi thoughts, analyzing the factors influencing corruption and how efforts are made to prevent corruption based on hadith analysis. With this, this research reveals that this hadith is an authentic hadith which has no defects and according to Yusuf al-Qaradawi the hadith is not only interpreted textually but also by looking at the context. Then, the corruption that occurs in Indonesia is largely influenced by human resources who have minimal understanding of corruption, lack of economics, and misappropriation of responsibility. Lastly, prevention efforts that can be carried out include optimizing the public's moral and ethical education regarding corruption awareness and strengthening the law regarding corruption in Indonesia.

Abstract

The moral decline that has occurred in the current era of globalization has caused concern in the community. The absence of etiquette when entering other people's homes, the absence of asking permission to enter the house, the absence of prior notification is often found in this day and age. This is contrary to the teachings of Shari'ah, which principle is that Adab is above knowledge. It is better for someone to be civilized but have little knowledge than someone who has a lot of knowledge but is not civilized. Basically, there cannot be any Shari'a demands unless there must be something bad behind it all that must be abandoned. Islam does not only demand knowledge, but must instill Adab first. Surely this is a problem of the people that must be addressed immediately. The purpose of this study is to provide a detailed description of the Prophet's explanation of what procedures / ethics must be considered in entering someone else's house in order to avoid disputes or protect the disgrace of the homeowner. This research collects data through a qualitative approach in the form of a literature review which includes articles, journals, theses, and books. The result of this research is to provide an understanding and emphasis on the importance of the ethics of asking permission in terms of visiting other people's homes. The conclusion of this study also implies that parents should instill good manners from an early age to children, especially the manners of visiting other people's homes.

Abstract

The science of hadith sharia is the study of the meaning or explanation contained in a hadith. In studying a hadith, there are several supporting sciences involved, one of which is the science of hadith sharia. When studying the science of hadith sharia, one will also learn about the methods used to explain a hadith. These methods are what help scholars to explain hadiths that are not yet fully understood by readers. Some of the methods used to explain hadiths are the analytical, ijmali, and muqarrin methods. This paper will focus more on the ijmali method used to explain hadiths. The data in this study was obtained from library research sources. The purpose of this study is to understand what the ijmali method is and to understand the hadith sharia about the obligation of wudu for every prayer in one of the hadith sharia books that uses the ijmali method in its explanation.
