Abstract

This research discusses the analysis and effectiveness of Islamic education at the Waria Al-Fatah Yogyakarta Islamic Boarding School in developing religious practices for its students. This Islamic boarding school is unique because it serves the transgender community by offering valuable insights regarding inclusivity in Islamic education. This approach integrates forms of religious values ​​and gender identity. This Islamic boarding school always strives to create an environment conducive to fostering positive spirituality and comprehensive learning. This study uses a type of qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Data collection was carried out descriptively regarding religious education, followed by data interpretation by carrying out investigations. This was done to determine whether or not the structure and relationships between the data were sharp. The research results show that the Waria Al-Fatah Islamic Boarding School emphasizes moderate and tolerant religious teaching with various additional programs, including counseling guidance and social activities to support the development of religious practice. These findings prove that Islamic education can also be adapted to meet the special needs of marginalized groups, while still maintaining the essence of religious teachings. Hopefully, this research can become a reference for developing inclusive and humanistic education models in the future.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in shaping students' character and abilities, both academically and socially. In the era of globalization, social skills such as collaboration and communication have become very important. Cooperative learning, especially the Jigsaw model, is proposed as an effective method to achieve this goal. In Jigsaw learning, students are divided into small groups, where each member is responsible for studying and teaching certain parts of the material to their friends. This research uses a Classroom Action Research (PTK) approach to evaluate the implementation of the Jigsaw model at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Islamiyah Banat, with a focus on improving students' social and academic abilities. The results show that the Jigsaw model improves students' communication, collaboration, and empathy skills, as well as increasing motivation and academic achievement. Although there are challenges in implementation, the teacher's role as a facilitator is very important to ensure that all students are actively involved. It is hoped that this research can provide recommendations for the development of better learning methods in elementary schools, creating a generation that is intelligent and has noble character.

Abstract

Visual-spatial intelligence is an individual's ability to understand, recognize, and manipulate objects in space effectively. Developing visual-spatial intelligence is very important at the elementary school level because it can support students' academic and non-academic achievements and creative thinking skills. This research aims to formulate an effective strategy for increasing the visual-spatial intelligence potential of students at the elementary school level through a literature review. This research uses library research methods, where data is obtained from various relevant literature, such as books, scientific journals, articles, and previous research results. These sources are analyzed to find and formulate learning strategies that educators can apply. The research results show that using media such as maps, pictures, logos, puzzles, diagrams, and others, as well as project-based activities such as making models or works of art, can stimulate students' visual-spatial intelligence. In addition, interactive learning environments and digital technology such as visualization applications have also proven effective. This research concludes that combining visual media, practical activities, and digital technology is a strategy that can help develop visual-spatial intelligence at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the implementation of the reading perspective in enhancing the reading interest of fifth-grade students at State Elementary School 1 Bantengputih Karanggeneng Lamongan. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with data sources from interviews, observations, and documentation. The data obtained is then analyzed to provide an overview of the implementation of the reading corner in enhancing the reading interest of fifth-grade students at State Elementary School 1 Bantengputih. The research results indicate an increase in reading interest after establishing a reading corner in the classroom. To support this, getting students into the habit of reading for 10-15 minutes before learning activities begin is also quite effective in increasing students' interest in reading. In addition, the utilization of free periods or the replacement of class time with reading in the reading corner also serves as evidence of the implementation of the reading corner in the 5th grade of State Elementary School 1 Bantengputih.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the implementation of religious extracurricular activities at MI Islamiyah and their impact on forming students' religious character. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, participant observation, and documentation from key informants such as the principal, teachers, and students. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, presentation, and concluding, and using triangulation for validation. This approach provides an in-depth picture of the planning, implementation, and impact of extracurricular activities on students' character. The results showed that religious extracurricular activities were well planned, implemented, and supported by students, teachers, and parents. The program includes activities such as the art of reading the Qur'an, congregational dhuha prayer, nasyid, and commemorating Islamic holidays. These activities succeeded in forming students' religious habits. The program evaluation assessed student attendance and participation, as well as changes in their attitudes. The evaluation results showed an increase in students' discipline and religious behavior.

Abstract

This research aims to identify scientific literacy abilities in junior high school students living in Islamic boarding schools. It is hoped that the data obtained from this research will provide the latest information regarding students' scientific literacy abilities, especially those who live in Islamic boarding schools. The research uses a mixed method with a sequential explanatory design, which combines quantitative and qualitative methods sequentially. Quantitative data was collected through a scientific literacy test adapted from AKMI, while qualitative data was obtained through direct interviews with students and field observations. The research results show that the scientific literacy abilities of class IX students at Mamba'us Sholihin Middle School for the 2024/2025 academic year who live in Islamic boarding schools are in the medium category, with a percentage of 64%. Students still face difficulties in analyzing data, compiling syntheses, evaluating evidence, considering various opinions, compiling justified arguments, and designing steps to solve problems. Several factors that influence students' scientific literacy abilities include a lack of habit of working on scientific literacy questions, low interest in reading, as well as the influence of the environment, and a curriculum that does not support it optimally.

Abstract

Educational institutions in Indonesia have a long history, starting from before the independence of the Indonesian State, namely during the Dutch colonial period and the Japanese colonization, this study uses the library research methodology, so that in collecting the data can be interpreted using a qualitative research approach. Islamic education in Indonesia began during the colonial period by using a learning system in surau, mosques, and “pondok pesantren”, this education system is still traditional and has not been systematized as it is now. The renewal of Islamic Education in Indonesia began when the Dutch established formal schools which at that time the students were still mostly from the nobility and the rich, then several Islamic institutions established Islamic religious-based schools and received challenges and even rejection from the Dutch government, during the Dutch colonial period the renewal of Islamic Education in Indonesia began to be noticed by the Japanese government until then Indonesia Merdeka Islamic Education was fully considered by the government until 2024, although there were many curriculum changes but Islamic Education still received special attention by the Indonesian government.

Abstract

Education has a strategic role in forming future generations who are able to face the challenges of the times, especially in the context of globalization and technological progress. This research focuses on the use of literacy corners as a medium for creativity in developing students' talents at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Mambaul Ulum Dagan. Through a qualitative descriptive approach, this research explores how literacy corners can increase students' reading interest and creativity. The research results show that a well-designed literacy corner, equipped with a varied collection of books, is able to create an inspiring learning environment. Students show improvement in the ability to express creative ideas through writing and visual arts. In addition, support from parents and collaboration between schools and libraries contribute to the success of this program. This research recommends implementing the model of utilizing literacy corners in other schools as an effort to develop students' creativity and talents more effectively. Thus, the literacy corner not only functions as a reading source, but also as a means to stimulate students' imagination and potential, which ultimately contributes to a better quality of education

Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of self-efficacy as a mediator in the relationship between the implementation of religious moderation and the character formation of students at Islamiyah Islamic Senior High School Senori. This study uses a quantitative approach with an ex-post facto design. The sampling technique uses the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling technique. The sample was taken from class XI of Islamiyah Islamic Senior High School, Senori. The data analysis technique used is the SEM-PLS technique using the SmartPLS 4 application. The results of this study include the implementation of religious moderation having a significant effect on the formation of student character, with a p-value of 0.000. Self efficacy has a significant effect on the formation of student character, with a p value of 0.047. Self efficacy has a significant effect on the implementation of student religious moderation, with a p-value of 0.000. Self efficacy has a role as a mediator in the relationship between the implementation of religious moderation and the formation of student character, with a p-value of 0.000

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the integration of Islamic Religious Education values ​​in the activities of the Ramadhan Boarding School at SMPN 6 Kediri and its impact on the formation of students' character. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore the integration of Islamic Religious Education values ​​in the activities of the Ramadhan Boarding School at SMPN 6 Kediri, with the subjects being the principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, which were then analyzed using qualitative techniques such as coding, categorization, and interpretation. To ensure the validity of the data, this study used triangulation techniques by comparing the results of interviews, observations, and documentation to maintain the consistency of the findings. The Ramadhan Boarding School at SMPN 6 Kediri has proven effective in integrating Islamic Religious Education values ​​into students' daily lives through activities such as tadarus Al-Qur'an, congregational dhuha prayers, and tausiyah. The positive impact can be seen from changes in student behavior who have begun to internalize religious values, such as honesty, discipline, and responsibility. This activity is also fully supported by the school, teachers, committee, and parents, which creates harmony between the curriculum and the goals of developing student character
