Abstract

The descriptive qualitative method was used in this study to analyze the role of Christian Religious Education teachers in improving students' attitudes and morality by applying biblical values in their education. In addition, this study describes theoretically and practically how Christian Religious Education teachers can function as agents of transformation in shaping students' characters. Teachers not only serve as educators, but also serve as role models who demonstrate values such as love, honesty, responsibility and humility. Teaching Christian Religious Education can help shape student character by using a holistic approach that includes cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. Nonetheless, Christian Religious Education teachers face many problems, such as the negative impact of technology, society, and the family environment. Therefore, to overcome these problems, relevant, creative and contextual approaches are needed. In addition, this research emphasizes the importance of cooperation between teachers, parents and the school community to ensure that Christian values can be applied in students' daily lives. Christian Religious Education teachers can serve as agents of transformation in improving students' attitudes and morality effectively and consistently.

Abstract

The sin of bribery as mentioned in Deuteronomy 16:19 and its implications for ethical leadership in the modern era. The verse emphasizes the prohibition against bribery that can pervert justice, blind the eyes of the wise, and damage the integrity of leaders. In the context of modern leadership, the practice of bribery is still a challenge that threatens morality and justice in various sectors, including government, business, and religious organizations. This study uses a qualitative approach with biblical hermeneutics methods and leadership ethics analysis. The results of the study indicate that the principle of justice in Deuteronomy 16:19 remains relevant and can be a basis for leaders to reject all forms of corruption and nepotism. Leadership based on integrity, transparency, and moral responsibility is the key to creating a just system that is oriented towards the common good. By understanding the implications of the sin of bribery from a biblical perspective, this study confirms that ethical leadership based on biblical values can be a solution in facing moral challenges in the modern era.

Abstract

The thinking ability of adolescent students is an important aspect of a meaningful and deep learning process. In the midst of challenging times, students are required not only to understand the material, but also to be able to think critically, logically, and reflectively. Unfortunately, the learning process in the classroom is often still teacher-centered and has not fully directed students to actively think independently. This phenomenon can be seen in the low ability of students to express opinions and analyze daily life problems from the perspective of the Christian faith. This research aims to develop an effective Christian Religious Education (PAK) learning strategy in improving the thinking skills of adolescent students through interactive, reflective, and contextual approaches. Using a descriptive qualitative research method using observation, interview, and documentation techniques on teachers and students, this study evaluates the effectiveness of learning strategies that encourage students' active participation in discussions and case studies to improve their understanding of Christian faith values as well as decision-making skills. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of learning methods that are oriented towards the development of critical and reflective thinking skills through an experiential approach and real-life case studies. This approach not only enriches students' understanding of the PAK material but also encourages them to connect Christian values with the challenges of everyday life more deeply. Thus, appropriately designed PAK learning strategies can be an effective means of building a critical, reflective, and responsible mindset.

Abstract

This research examines the issue of social injustice within the context of Indonesia's multicultural society through the perspective of Proverbs 31:8-9. The background of the study highlights that, despite Indonesia's rich diversity in ethnicity, religion, and culture, challenges of intolerance and discrimination persist, particularly against minority groups. The aim of this research is to identify various forms of social injustice faced by Indonesian society and to analyze the insights from Proverbs 31:8-9 in providing solutions to these issues. The research employs a qualitative descriptive methodology, utilizing literature reviews and textual analysis. The findings indicate that the role of leaders is crucial in defending the rights of marginalized groups. Proverbs 31:8-9 emphasizes the moral responsibility of leaders to "open their mouths" for social justice, which includes the protection of minority rights. This study contributes theologically to the formulation of inclusive and just policies and recommends a more holistic approach to addressing social injustice in Indonesia.

Abstract

In the increasingly complex context of religious pluralism, a firm confession of faith in the divinity of Jesus is the primary foundation for the life of the Christian congregation. This study aims to examine the theological meaning of Peter's (Matthew 16:16) and Thomas' (John 20:28) confession of Jesus as Lord, and its relevance for strengthening the congregation's faith amidst the reality of religious diversity. Using a theological-biblical approach and qualitative-descriptive methods, this study explores how the two disciples' statements of faith reflect the core of New Testament Christology and serve as the basis for the church's confessions of faith throughout history. The results of the study indicate that Peter's confession as "the Messiah, the Son of the living God" and Thomas's exclamation "My Lord and my God" are not merely personal statements, but rather universal and normative statements of faith. In the context of religious pluralism, these confessions strengthen the identity of the Christian faith and serve as the basis for open dialogue while remaining faithful to the truth of the Gospel. Therefore, a deep understanding of these confessions is crucial for strengthening the congregation's faith so that it does not drift amidst the relativism of truth that develops in a pluralistic society. This research makes a new contribution by linking the confession of Jesus' two main disciples as a relevant theological foundation in the context of contemporary religious pluralism, which has not been studied in depth in contextual Christology studies in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the impact of parents' authoritarian parenting styles on students' self-confidence, with a focus on understanding how this parenting approach influences children's psychological and emotional development. In this research, the author used a comprehensive literature review method, analyzing various previous studies that discussed the relationship between authoritarian parenting and children's self-confidence. This approach includes identifying the characteristics and aspects of authoritarian parenting, as well as the psychological impacts it produces, such as anxiety, fear of failure, and social withdrawal. By understanding this connection, it is hoped that this research can provide meaningful insight for parents, educators and other related parties regarding the importance of more democratic and supportive parenting. In addition, this research also aims to formulate effective intervention strategies to help children raised in authoritarian environments to develop healthy and positive self-confidence. It is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to improving parenting practices and creating a generation of children who are more confident, independent and able to face future challenges.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), has brought significant changes to Christian liturgical practices. Worship, which was once physical in nature, is now also conducted virtually through digital platforms, even involving AI as a technical support tool in liturgy. This shift raises a critical theological question: can the Holy Spirit be present and work through artificial intelligence, which is non-personal and programmed, within digital liturgy? This article aims to critically examine this issue through a pneumatological approach. The study employs a qualitative method using a literature review. The findings indicate that although AI can assist in technical aspects of worship such as composing sermons, prayers, or liturgical content AI does not possess spiritual attributes, consciousness, or will as the Holy Spirit does. The Holy Spirit is a Divine Person who works personally and transcendentally within the community of faith. His presence cannot be replaced by digital systems or algorithmic media that are impersonal in nature. In conclusion, AI can function only as a technical tool in worship but cannot serve as a medium for the Holy Spirit’s presence. The Church must develop the use of technology wisely and theologically, so as not to obscure the role of the Holy Spirit in worship, and to preserve the authenticity of spirituality and the faith community in the face of digital transformation. Therefore, this study contributes to the discourse of digital theology and contemporary pneumatology by highlighting the ontological and theological limitations of AI in the context of divine presence, while also expanding interdisciplinary discussions between technology, liturgy, and the presence of the Holy Spirit in increasingly digital worship spaces
