PASAI : Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat, e-ISSN: 2964-0520 dan p-ISSN: 2964-0512 adalah jurnal yang diterbitkan dua kali setahun dan berfokus pada praktik dan proses keterlibatan masyarakat. Jurnal ini adalah jurnal online yang direview oleh rekan sejawat yang didedikasikan untuk publikasi penelitian berkualitas tinggi yang berfokus pada penelitian dan implementasi. PASAI : Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat bertujuan untuk menjadi jurnal interdisipliner yang direview oleh rekan sejawat yang utama untuk memajukan teori dan praktik terkait dengan semua bentuk penjangkauan dan keterlibatan. Hal ini mencakup menyoroti usaha inovatif; mengkaji secara kritis isu-isu yang muncul, tren, tantangan, dan peluang; serta melaporkan hasil penelitian tentang dampak di bidang pelayanan publik, penjangkauan, keterlibatan, ekstensi, penelitian yang terlibat, penelitian berbasis masyarakat, penelitian partisipatif berbasis masyarakat, penelitian aksi, beasiswa publik, pembelajaran berbasis layanan, dan layanan kepada masyarakat.

Abstract

Health is a basic need that is important to maintain. Preventive efforts through education are needed to increase public awareness, including in drug management and prevention of infectious diseases. This community service activity aims to provide education on 3CP (Methods of Storing, Using, and Destroying Drugs) and preventing Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) to residents of the Rahadi Oesman Dormitory, Malang. The counseling was held on May 25, 2025 and was attended by 14 participants. The methods used were lectures, discussions, and question and answer sessions. The material includes proper drug storage, use according to the rules, and how to safely destroy expired drugs. Education also includes knowledge about DHF, including symptoms, stages of the disease, and preventive measures such as 3M (draining, covering, and burying), as well as maintaining environmental cleanliness. The pretest results showed that 50% of participants did not understand the material well. However, after the counseling, there was an increase in the score on the posttest, which indicated an increase in understanding. This activity not only increased participants' knowledge, but also formed awareness of the importance of clean and healthy living behavior and proper drug management. Thus, this counseling is expected to be the initial step in preventing drug abuse and the spread of DHF in residential environments.

Abstract

Mastering the English language is crucial for unlocking global career opportunities. To encourage students to learn this international language and prepare them for an English standardized test, a virtual webinar was held, featuring a native English expert and an English educator from Indonesia. The participants were 101 university students from a private university in Pasuruan who completed a survey to evaluate the webinar. The results showed that the participants became more motivated to delve deeper into learning English and taking the standardized test, including the TOEFL ITP. They also gained a deeper understanding of the power of English, particularly in terms of its impact on their cognitive skills and the international opportunities it offers. However, the study was still in its initial stage, and several in-person training series would have had a higher impact on the participants.

Abstract

One of the key non-formal educational institutions contributing significantly to human resource development at the grassroots level is the Community Learning Activity Center (PKBM). PKBM offers a comprehensive range of educational services, including Early Childhood Education (PAUD), Functional Literacy (KF), Package A (equivalent to elementary school), Package B (equivalent to junior high school), Package C (equivalent to senior high school), Business Learning Groups (KBU), and is also equipped with Community Reading Gardens (TBM). The main objective of PKBM is to expand educational access, particularly for marginalized communities that have limited opportunities to participate in formal education. PKBM serves as a means of community empowerment by improving knowledge, skills, and fostering a positive mental attitude that supports personal development and economic advancement. This study employed a participatory approach, emphasizing the active role and involvement of community members as assisted partners. Findings reveal that the establishment of PKBM in Alue Dua Village was initiated by the aspirations of the local community, supported by organizers. The programs implemented not only provide alternative educational pathways but also serve as a platform for social and economic transformation. Thus, PKBM is expected to become a driving force in enhancing the quality of life and overall community welfare in a sustainable manner

Abstract

Digital literacy skills have become an essential competency for students in the era of technological transformation and educational digitalization. However, initial observations revealed that most first-year students still faced significant limitations in operating computers, particularly in using word processing applications such as Microsoft Word, which are crucial for academic activities. To address this issue, a basic computer training program was implemented using an interactive approach that combines theoretical instruction with hands-on practice. This program aimed to enhance students’ fundamental computer skills and build their confidence in utilizing digital technology. The learning by doing method was applied through individual mentoring and direct practice in the computer laboratory. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ abilities, including operating computers, managing documents with Microsoft Word, and understanding ethical aspects of technology use.Beyond technical proficiency, the training also fostered positive attitudes toward technology use in academic contexts. Students became more active, independent, and receptive to digital-based learning. Therefore, the interactive basic computer training proved to be an effective strategy for transforming digital literacy among first-year students and served as a crucial foundation for preparing them to meet the demands of digital-era education.

Abstract

Program pojok baca adalah suatu program yang dirancang guna untuk menumbuhkan minat baca siswa di sekolah dasar. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah metode PAR yang mengkaji peminatan baca siswa melalui pojok baca yang dibuat secara menarik. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa plb uin Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar, guru kelas, dan siswa SDN 14 Rao-Rao. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melalui kegiatan pojok baca siswa bisa membaca sebuah bahan bacaan didalam kelas dengan tempat yang nyaman, serta melatih sisa dalam keterampilan membaca. Selain buku pelajaran, pojok baca dilengkapi dengan buku cerita rakyat dan buku legenda daerah agar siswa dapat memahami sejarah yang ada di sekitar mereka tinggal.
