Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The  purpose of this research is to ascertain the influence of Problem Based Instruction with audio visualmediatoward biology learning achievement of 10th grade  students at SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak in academic year 2011/2012. The research was quasi experiment research using quantitative approach. The  research was designed using posttest only control design. Experimental group applied  Problem Based Instruction with audio visualmedia. Control group applied discussion,  classical course and question-answer method. The populations of this research were all of  10th degree students at SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak in academic year 2011/2012.  The samples  of this research were the students of 10th 3as experiment group and 10th 6as control group.  The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling. The data was  collected using questionnaire, multiple choice test,essay test, observation form, and  document. The hypotheses analyzed by t-test. The research concluded that application of Problem Based Instruction with audio  visualmediahad significant effect toward biology learning achievement in cognitive,  affective, and psychomotor of 10th grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak in academic  year 2011/2012. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The purposes of this research ware to  ascertain  the influence  ARIAS lerning models toward biology learning achievement of XI IPA grade students at SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012. This research  is considered as  quasi  experiment research using quantitative approach. The research was  designed using  posttest only control design  that  applied Quantum  Learning approach in experimental group and conventional approach with discussion, classical course and question-answer method in control group.  The population of this  research  was all of  XI  IPA  degree students at SMA  Al Islam 1 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012.  The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling that choosed  XI IPA 3 as experiment group and XI IPA 2 as control group.  The  data  was collected  by  using questionnaire, multiple choice test, observation form, and document. The hypotheses analyzed by t-test. The conclusion of this research showed that application of Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assesment, And Satisfaction (ARIAS)      learning models  had  significant  effect toward biology learning achievement  in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domain of XI IPA grade students at SMA Al Islam 1 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012. Abstract

The purposes of the research are: (1) to know the influence of constructivist-metacognitive model towards students? cognitive learning outcome; and (2) to know the influence of constructivist-metacognitive model towards students? retention. This research was quasy experiment with posttest only nonequivalent control group design by using the experimental class (application of constructivist-metacognitive model) and control class (without application constructivist-metacognitive model). Research population were all students at the eleventh grade of science class at SMAN 3 Surakarta in academic year 2014/2015. The sampling technique was cluster random sampling, so the researcher chose XI MIPA 6 as the experimental class with 33 students and XI MIPA 5 as the control class with 32 students. Data were collected by testing and non-testing technique. Data were analyzed by t-test.Based on the t-test analysis, it is acquired that p-value of students? cognitive learning outcome is less than 0,050 (p (0,000) < 0,050), so H0 is denied. In summary, there is significant difference on cognitive learning outcome between the control class and the experimental class. T-test analysis about students? retention is acquired that p-value is less than 0,050 (p (0,016) < 0,050), so H0 is denied. It can be concluded that there is significant difference on students? retention between the control class and the experimental class.The conclusions of this research are: (1) constructivist-metacognitive model affects students? cognitive learning outcome; and (2) constructivist-metacognitive model affects students? retention. Keywords : constructivist-metacognitive model, cognitive learning outcome, students? retention

Abstract

ABSTRACT ? Purpose of the researched is to improve the ability to rational thinkingh of through application of Guided Inquiry Strategies on all cognitive dimensions of VII F I Class Students SMP 5 Surakarta years 2011/2012. The research is an action research study Classroom what is done in several cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages: planning, action, observation and reflection. The research subjects are VIII-F Class Students SMP 5 Surakarta years 2011/2012. The data obtained by observation of written test. Techniques of data analysis using descriptive analysis technique. Validating data using triangulation research method. The research was motivated by the observation of the observations made on the VII-F class student of SMP 5 Surakarta. The results showed that the average achievement scores of rational thinking ability to process information on aspects on the 1st cycle by 56.15%, 69.73% in 2nd, and 70.68% in 3rd. Aspects of solving problems on 1st cycle by 38.22%, 67.83% in the second, 67.71%in 3rd . Aspects of a decision on the 1st cycle by 56.87%, 63.51% the second and 71% on 3rd.. The increase that occurs in every cycle showed that Guided Inquiry Learning model can improve the ability of rational thinking. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? This research is aimed to know relationship between: 1)  IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and cognitive learning achievement  of biology of  first  student?s grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012,  2) EQ  (Emotional Quotient) and cognitive learning achievement  of biology of  first  student?s grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012, 3)  IQ  (Intelligence Quotient),  EQ  (Emotional Quotient), and  cognitive learning achievement  of biology of  first  student?s grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012. This was a correlational research. The population were all of the students first grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012.  The sample was taken among 74 samples of student using  simple random  sampling technique.  Documentation technique was used to uncover student?s cognitive learning achievement, while  IQ (Intelligence Quotient) dan EQ  (Emotional Quotient) was measured by using test technique. The obtained data was analysed using linier regression analysis in SPSS 17. The result showed that (1) there is correlation  IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and  cognitive learning achievement  of biology of  first  student?s  grade  of  SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012, 2) there is correlation EQ (Emotional Quotient)  and  cognitive learning achievement  of biology of first student?s grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012,  3) there is correlation both of  IQ  (Intelligence Quotient)  and  EQ  (Emotional Quotient) with cognitive learning achievement of biology of first student?s grade of SMA Negeri 7 Surakarta in academic year of 2011/2012.  The  three aforementioned correlation are considered as significant and positive valuable.  In addition  the results  showed that  relative  contribution  of IQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology  is 48.6%,  relative  contribution  of EQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology is 51.4%, Effective contribution of IQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology is 7.63%, effective contribution of EQ toward cognitive learning achievement in Biology  is 8.07%, total effective contribution both of IQ and EQ are15.7% Keywords:  IQ (Intelligence Quotient), EQ (Emotional Quotient),cognitive learning achievement in biology, linier regression analysis

Abstract

The aim of this research was to ascertain metacognitive ability differences between instad combined with concept map and conventional learning of biology learning X grade students SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo in academic year 2012/2013.            This research was quasy experiment method. This research design was Post-Test Only with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this research was all of X grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo in academic year 2012/2013 with 255 students. Sampling techniques used cluster sampling. The sample of this research was class X1 as experiment class with 32 students and class X2 as comparison class with 31 students. The data collected using essay test, observations and school document. The hypotheses was analyzed by t-test.The result of this research showed that t-test of metacognitive ability was significance < 0,05 is 0,015. The average value metacognitive ability of experiment class was 80,85 and comparisan class was 75,94.  The average value metacognitive ability of experiment class was higher than the comparison class.            The research concluded that there was metacognitive ability differences between INSTAD combined with concept map and conventional learning of biology learning grade X student SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo in academic year 2012/2013. Keyword: INSTAD, Concept map, Metacognitive ability.

Abstract

The aim of study is to know the student's critical thinking skill on biology learning through the implementation of accelerated learning of x grade students of SMA Negeri Karangpandan. Karanganyar. The purpose of this research is motivated by the implementation of the biological learning process that has not been able to take an active role in student learning. This cause the students do not understand in understanding biological materials so that learning objectives are not achieved. Students tend to be passive and could not pull out his mind freely. Alternative approaches that can improve critical thinking skills of the students' are using Accelerated Learning (AL).The research included in the quasi-experimental research design using post-test and Non Equivalent Control Group Design. This study uses a Accelerated Learning in the experimental group and the deductive approach with the method of discussion, lecture and question and answer in the control group. The study population was all students of class X SMA Karangpandan. Karanganyar academic year 2012/2013. Sampling technique with cluster sampling. Data collection techniques using test and non-test methods. The description of the methods of non-test methods and test using the documentation and observation. Hypothesis test using t-test.The conclusions of this study approached AL significantly affect skills students in critical thinking in class X SMA Karangpandan. AL accommodate many learning elements that can make learning fun so excited and learning process better. Joyful learning can assist students in developing critical thinking skills. Key Words: approach to accelerate learning, critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to ascertain the difference of:1. Creative thinking between open ended- group investigation learning models and conventional learning of X Grade students at SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta.2.  Science process skills between open ended- group investigation learning models and conventional learning of X grade students at SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta. This research was quasi experiment research which used posttest only nonequivalent control group design. This research applied open ended- group investigation learning models in experimental group and conventional (lecture, discussion, experiments) learning models in control group.  The population of this research was all of X grade students at SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta in academic year 2012/2013. Sampling techniques used cluster sampling that choosed X.9 as experiment group and X.10 as control group. Data was collected using ability think creatively test, KPS test, observation sheet, and document.  The hypotheses analyzed by t-test. Results of hypotheses for creative thingking showed that sig.> 0,05 is 0,206 and tcount< t table is 1,282<2,007 so that Ho is accepted. The test results that the KPS hypotheses for sig.< 0,05 is 0,04 and tcount> t table is 3,009<2,007 so Ho is rejected.Based the result of discussion in this study, the conclusion is: 1. There is no difference of creative thingking between open ended- group investigation learning models and conventional learning at SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta. 2. There is a difference of science process skill between open ended- group investigation learning models and conventional learning at SMA Negeri 8 Surakarta. Keywords: open ended-group investigation learning models, creative thinking, science process skills.

Abstract

ABSTRACT - This research aims to improve student motivation in biology learning with implementation of Picture and Picture in grade students in SMP N 14 Surakarta of 2011/2012 academic year. This study is a Classroom Action Research with the research design consisting of two cycles and each cycle consisting of 4 stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were grade students of SMP N 14 Surakarta of 2011/2012 academic year, that are 40 students. The data collection was conducted using questionnaire, observation and interview methods. The data analysis technique employed in this research was qualitative analysis consisting of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion or verification. The result of research showed that The means gain percent of each indicator of the students? motivation questionnaire for pre cycle was 72, 09%,, cycle I was 74,09 %and cycle II was 79,96%. The means gain percent of each indicator of the students? motivation observation for pre cycle was 50,9%, cycle I was 74,06 % and cycle II was 86,87%. According to the result above it means that applying of Picture And Picture  learning method can improve students motivation was 35,97% from result of observation and 10,5 % from result of questionare on class VIII D SMP N 14 Surakarta of 2011/2012 academic year   Keyword: Picture and Picture , students? motivation

Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The purposes of this research were to know: 1) the influence of guided inquiry method to the science process skills; 2) the influence of student?s learning interest to science process skills; 3) the interaction between learning method and learning interest to the science process skills. This research was quasi experiment research using Randomized Control Only design. Learning method and learning interest were independent variables and to science process skills was the dependent variable. The population of this research was all of  XI grade of natural science students of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali. The samples of this research were the students of class XI IPA 2 as the experimental group and students of class XI IPA 6 as the control group.  The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling. The data about science process skills collected by use observation. Learning interest measured by observation. The analysis was anava two away in different cell and the advance test used Bonfferoni test. The conclusion of this research were: 1) Guided Inquiry method had significant influence to science process skills on XI grade of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali; 2) Learning interest had significant influence to science process skills on XI grade of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali; 3) There wasn?t interaction between learning method and learning interest to science process skills on XI grade of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali.
