Abstract

ABSTRACT - The purpose of this study is to improve student Questioning Participation on Biology teaching by implementation of Active Knowledge Sharing strategy on Blood System Regulation. This research is as classroom action research.  The experiment was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of the planning, acting, observation, and reflection. Subjects were students of class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak Tahun Pelajaran 2011/ 2012. Source of data derived from teacher and student information, places and events on going learning activities, and documentation. Techniques and tools of data collection are questionnaire, observation, and interviews. Technical analysis of data is using qualitative descriptive. Data validation is use methods triangulation  Result of the research show  that with action performing brazes to pass through learning strategy purpose  Active Knowledge Sharing  questioning participation  in biology learning in class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak Tahun Pelajaran 2011/ 2012. It  is gone upon on questionnaire result, observation and interview. The average percentage each indicator of student activities based on observation  for  pre cycle is 42,30%, a cycle of 62,69% and 79,92% for cycle 2. The conclusions that application of  Active Knowledge Sharing  strategy can improve Questioning Participation.   Key words: Active Knowledge Sharing, Questioning Participation  , Biology learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACT ? This  research  aims  to  determine the effect of  PBL  learning model  of problem-solving skills and cognitive learning outcomes biology class VII students of SMP Negeri  14  Surakarta. PBL  model  is a model  of learning  by  forcing students  to  practical  problems  or  as a  foothold  in  learning,  in other words, students learn  through  the problems. Given the  problems  the students  are challenged  to  find  / search for a solution of  real world problems can be resolved as a group  (in collaboration). The cooperation will enable students  in learning  to improve problem-solving skills and cognitive learning outcomes. This research is a  Quasi  Experimental  research  design  using a  pretest-postest Control Group. Population is all students in grade VII Junior High School 14 Surakarta with cluster random sampling technique using sampling. Aspects of data collection techniques and problem-solving skills using the cognitive learning outcomes tests are analyzed using statistical tests anacova. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? This research aimed to determine: (1) The effect of Science Technology Society (STS) model with Mind Map  technique  to Biology learning achivement grade 10th of at SMAN Colomadu Academic Year 2011/2012, (2) The effect of the application of STS model with Mind Map  technique to environmental attitudes of 10th of students at SMAN Colomadu Academic Year 2011/2012. This research was Quasy Experimental Research used  The Randomized Control Group Posttest Design. The population of this research were all students of SMA Colomadu Academic Year 2011/2012. The sample of this research was by cluster random sampling. The samples for this research was grade 10th.6 as the control classes with using various oral model with simple summary practice and grade 10th.2 as experimental class are using the STS learning model with the Mind Map  technique. The data collection techniques is by documentation techniques, observation sheets, questionnaires, and tests. The technique of data analysis using the descriptive statistics and the inferential statistics with using t-test to test the hypothesis with the succor of SPSS 16. Based on the research can be concluded: (1) There is a significant effect of STS model with Mind Map  technique on Biology learning achievement grade 10th  at  SMAN Colomadu Academic Year 2011/2012  with cognitive significant value 0000; psychomotor domain  0.000, and affective domain 0.019  (2) There is significant effect  of  STS  model with  Mind Map  technique on  environmental attitudes  of class X at SMAN Colomadu Academic Year 2011/2012 with significant value 0.002. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? This research purposed to know the influence of learning  PBI+STAD towards higher level of social and thinking skill of 10th  grade students in SMA Negeri Colomadu school year 2011/2012.  PBI+STAD  are combined learning models of syntax PBI on STAD. This research is a  quasi experimental  research using  Posttest Only Control Group Design. The independent variable was the model of PBI+STAD learning. The dependent variable is the higher order thinking and social skill of students. General population is all 10th  grade students from second semester in SMA Negeri Colomadu Karanganyar school year 2011/2012. The sampling technique used Cluster random Sampling. Samples in this research are class X-2 as an experiment class using a model of PBI+STAD and the class X-7 as a control class using models of learning that vary with lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. The technique of data collection of higher order thinking skill used technique test. The measurement of social skill used a questionnaire.  Prerequisite test analysis consisted of normality test and homogeneity test. Normality test was done with Kolmogorov Smirnov method. Normality test results indicated that the data were normally distributed. Homogeneity test applied Levene?s Test. The result showed that all groups are homogeneous. Data analysis technique for testing of hypothesis in this research is t-test with the aid of SPSS program version 16 significance level 5%. The result showed that higher order thinking are t0 > ttabel = 2.00 > 0.104 and social skill are t0 > ttabel = 2.00 > 1.51. The research concluded that  (1) PBI+STAD learning model does not affect the higher order thinking skills in 10th  grade students in  SMA  Negeri Colomadu Karanganyar,  (2) PBI+STAD  learning model does not affect the social skills in 10th grade students in SMA Negeri Colomadu Karanganyar. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the influence of Reality Based Learning approach toward biology learning achievement of X graders of SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta in the academic year of 2012/2013.This study was a quasi experimental research. The research design was used post-test only with nonequivalent control group design with the experiment group applying Reality Based Learning aprroach in experimental group and classical course, question-answer  and exsperiment method in control group. The population of research was all X graders of SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta in the academic year of of 2012/2013. The sampling technique used cluster sampling.  The sample of this research consisted of X-5 grader as experiment group and X-6 grader as control group with 30 students for each class. Techniques of collecting data for learning achievement were test and non-test methods. The test method included an objective multiple choice test and esay. The non-test method included documentation, observation and questionnaire. The research hypothesis used t test.This research concluded that the application of Reality Based Learning approach affected significantly the biology learning achievement of X graders of SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta in cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains. Key Words: Reality Based Learning, Biology Learning Achievement.

Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The purposes of this research is to increase students interest in Biologu of class VII-A SMP Negeri 14 Surakarta through the implementation of Cooperative Model CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) with Biological Comic in the subject of Pollution. This research is a Classroom Action Research with 3 cycles of action. Each cycle consisting of 4 phases which is planning, acting, observing, , and reflecting. Observational data obtained from the questionnaire, observation paper, and interview. Data validation is use triangulation method. Technical analysis of data is technical descriptive. Result of this research show that in the first cycle, according to the observation score, the average percentage of students interest in the class is 57,53%, 65,12% in the second cycle (worked up 7,59%), and 83,28% in the third cycle (worked up 18,16%). According to the questionnaire score, the average percentage of students interest in the first cycle is 71,04%, 71,77% in the second cycle (worked up 0,73%), and 73,66% in the third cycle (worked up 1,89%). Result of interview show that students. Hasil wawancara siswa dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa more pleased and find it easier to learn the lessons of biology. Students are also interested in learning, students also are learning during the action is exciting activities. The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of Cooperative Model CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) with Biological Comic in the subject of Pollution can increase students interest in Biology of class  VII-A SMP Negeri 14 Surakarta class year 2011/2012.   Keywords: learning model Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition, biological comic, students interest

Abstract

ABSTRACT - This research aims to find out the effect of the active learning strategy Mind Maps towards students? learning achievement of the class XI IPA at SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar. This study is a quasi-experimental studies which use Posstest Only Control Group Design. The independent variable in this research is the application of implementation of active learning strategy on Mind Maps whereas the dependent variable is students? achievement in learning biology at 3 levels?, namely, cognitive, affective and psychomotor. The population of the study is the entire class XI at SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar in academic year 2010/2011. The samples are taken towards control and treatment group. The sample is taken by using Cluster Random Sampling method. The data are collected by using test (for cognitive achievement) whereas for the affective and psychomotor aspects the data are taken by using observation methods. The obtained data are analyzed by using t-test. The result shows that the implementation of active learning strategy has taken good effect towards students? achievement in affective and psychomotor aspects, but has not on the cognitive achievement students in class XI IPA of Karanganyar SMA Negeri 2. Abstract

This research aims to know about the differences of   missconception level  on excretory system material of Student?s grade XIth Science?s graders Senior High School of 4 Surakarta in the school year of 2012/2013 using conctructivism type Novick  and constructivis-collabotrativ learning method.This research belonged to a quasi-experiment with quantitative approach. The research was designed using pre-test post-test  non-equivalent control group design by applying constructism Type Novick learning method for experiment class 1 and using constructism-collaboratif for experiment class 2. The population of research was all XIth Science?s students of Senior High School of 4 Surakarta in the school year of 2012/2013. The sample of research was the XIth Science?s 5  grade as experiment group 1  and XIth Science?s 6  grade as experiment group 2. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Technique of collecting data used was objective test with CRI (Certanty of Response Index) and observation test. The hypothesis testing was conducted using Anacova-test. The data analyzed by SPSS version 16 program help at 5% significance.The hypothesis of research  there is the differences student?s misconception level of Student?s grade XIth Science?s graders Senior High School of  4 Surakarta in the school year of 2012/2013 using conctructivism type Novick  and constructivis-collabotrativ learning method.The hypothesis result test of student?s misconception level using constructivisme type Novick and constructivis-collaboratif method results as  p-value<0,05 (0.002< 0.05), so it can be concluded that there is differences of student?s misconception levels of Student?s grade XIth Science?s graders Senior High School of 4 Surakarta in the school year of 2012/2013. Keywords : Constructivism Type Novick, Constructivis Collaborative, Misconception Level

Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The aim of this research was to improve creative thinking skill of students in class X-10 SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta year 2011/2012, which consist of 5 aspect, fluency, flexibility, originality, elaboration and evaluation. Classroom Action Research was used in this research, which has four phases, they are  planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Data of the research were collected by using observation sheet, test, questionare, and interview. The data were analyzed by qualitative descriptive method. The validity of data was verified through triangulation technique of data collecting method. The results showed the percentage of every aspect of creative thinking skills based test on a first cycle have not gain thet targets, achievement of Fluency aspect is 69,70%, then 63.64% for Flexibility, 47.73% for Originality, 56.82% for Elaboration, and 49.24% for Evaluation. The results of the second cycle  increased, but there are aspects that have not reached the target. Result for each aspect was 79.55% for Fluency, 73.11% for Flexibility, Originality of 54.55%, 60.23% for Elaboration, and Evaluation of 57.58%. All aspects have not fulfill of the target yet, so the action continued to third cycle. The results achieved in the third cycle, Fluency aspects of 85.86%, 78.03% for flexibility, 63.64% for Originality, 60.23% for Elaboration, and Evaluation of 62.12%. All aspects of creative thinking skills already outreach the target, so the action was stopped. The conclusion of this research described that the Problem Based learningn (PBL) improve creative thinking skill in biology subject learning of students at class X-10 SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta year 2011/2012. This study is aquasi-experimental studies which use Posstest Only Control Group Design. The independent variable in this research is the application of learning srategy, the Think Talk Write with module research results where as the dependent variable is students? achievement in learning biology at 3 levels?. Namely, cognitive, affective and psychomotor.
