Abstract

Literature is an expression of the problems of life, philosophy and psychology, literature is spiritual wealth. Writers can be said to be experts in psychology and philosophy who express problems in life, psychology and philosophy. not by academic technique but through literary writing. The focus in this research is on the content of the novel, especially about the meaning of love in the Ziarah Novel by Iwan Simatupang according to the study of existential philosophy according to Soren Kierkegaard, namely the aesthetic stage, ethical stage, and religious stage. The problems raised in this study are guided by qualitative descriptive research methods. This method is an assessment that is not designed with statistical procedures. The purpose of this study is to describe what conditions exist in a context. Qualitative method is a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from observable behavior. Abstract

This study aims to determine how the management of practice in SMK Negeri 1 Amurang. This research is a descriptive study, with the research respondents being principals, vice principals, teacher administration. The data collection method used by the researcher is using interviews and research using an interview and documentation approach. Data that has been obtained from interviews with informants. To know the organization, implementation, planning, and evaluation. From the research results obtained indicate that the management of the implementation of the Field Work Practice (PKL) at SMK Negeri 1 Amurang if viewed from the organization canrunning well indicated by the existence of the organizational structure of street vendors and the division of tasks board, the implementation went well. Most of the students stated that they were good in terms of planning. Based on the conclusions of the study, it is recommended thatthe learning process in schools can be fulfilled properly so that in the implementation of Field Work Practices (PKL) students can apply the knowledge gained at school by going directly into the world of DU/DI work.

Abstract

The study investigated the causes, effects and remedies of examination malpractice among senior secondary school students in Osun State. In other to achieve the objectives of the study, four research questions were raised. The population of the study consisted of ten thousand, eight hundred and thirty- four SSII students (10,834) of three hundred and twenty- one senior secondary schools in Osun State. The sample size of the study was 707 drawn across 32 senior secondary schools in Boripe, Ifelodun and Odo-Otin Federal Constituencies in Osun State. The instrument used was questionnaire on causes, effects and remedies of examination malpractice on senior secondary school students (CEREMSSSS). Data collected were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The reliability coefficient of the instrument was found to be 0.80. The findings of this study showed that there is no significant difference in the opinion of male and female students on causes, effects and remedies of examination malpractice. The students strongly agreed that inadequate instructional resources for effective teaching, inadequate qualified teachers, curriculum contents being too wide, inability of teachers to finish scheme of work and inability of teachers to combine examination syllabus with teaching syllabus are the major causes of examination malpractice. They also strongly agreed that when students are students are well taught and assessed, when examination supervision is properly done, when more qualified teachers are employed, and more infrastructure and teaching materials are provided, examination malpractice would be curbed. Based on the findings, the following recommendations were made: More qualified teachers should be employed, infrastructure and instructional materials should be adequate, supervision of examination should be properly done and corrupt examination officials, and school management, teachers and students should be thoroughly punished based on examination malpractice act. Government should also deemphasize possession of paper certificates and lay serious emphasis on skill acquisition, where parents should continue to encourage their children to study and not be the one taking them to miracle centers.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve students' listening skills on the content of folklore for elementary schools in South Minahasa Regency. The learning process in the classroom must be supported by existing media so that teachers can improve students' abilities in the learning process. The media used in this research is audio-visual to improve students' ability to listen to the contents of folklore. Furthermore, the method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which focuses on improving the process and learning outcomes towards a better direction. Before conducting the research, the researchers conducted a survey on December 8, 2021 in the sixth grade of SD Inpres Pakuure with the folklore of Toar and Lumimuut. The results of the pre-cycle researchers get the result that is 17%, the KKM determined by the school is 75. This means that the sixth grade students of SD Inpres Pakuure have not achieved the expected results. Researchers conducted Cycle I with the hope of increasing the results of students' grades in class, the scores already obtained in Cycle I increased by 25% to 42%. However, the results obtained by students cannot be said to be complete so that the researcher continues this research to Cycle II to get significant results. The results of the research in Cycle II, researchers have obtained very maximum results, even exceeding the Minimum Completeness Criteria. Cycle II increased by 50% from Cycle I to 92%. This study has obtained appropriate results. Researchers have discontinued the research because they have obtained the expected results.

Abstract

This study examined crime and insecurity in Rivers State: The need for utilization of OSPAC security as alternative security measure in Rivers State. The study adopted three (3) research questions and objectives and they constituted the study guide. Thus, the self determination theory of Edward Deci and Richard Ryan (1985) was adopted as the theoretical framework for the study. The survey research design was used, with sample size of 396 using Taro Yameni. Data instrument was questionnaire. Hence, the data was analyzed using simple percentages, mean and standard deviation. The findings of the study shows that the reasons or the need for alternative security measures using OSPAC security to support the failed conventional security is to combat crime and insecurity in Rivers State which has hypnotize growth and development. The study recommended that since crime and insecurity spellbind growth and development, there is need for government, communities, NGOs and stakeholders who are concerned about human lives and security to provide alternative security and sustain such security outfit, as this can help improve security conditions in Rivers State.

Abstract

Educational planning is critical to the development of education. Educational planning is handled by educational planner. The educational planner use both human and materials resources for planning of education. Information communication technology is one of the technological resources planner are using for planning of education. Educational planner in Nigeria are faced with problem deploying Information Communication Technologies (ICT) for planning of education in their respective institutions and schools. This paper discussed the concepts of ICT, educational planning and the problems of deploying information communication technologies for educational planning in Nigeria. Both primary and secondary data were used in the paper. The data were sourced from print and online resources. The paper identified inadequate funding of ICT programme, inadequate ICT facilities, corruption, high cost of ICT facilities, poor internet services and unstable power supply as problems hindering educational planner from fully deploying information communication technologies for planning education in Nigeria. Based on this problems identified, the paper recommended that government should increase the funding of ICT programme, provide adequate ICT facilities, ensure stable internet services and power supply and capacity building programme for planner. The government should subsidize the cost of ICT and fight all forms of corruption in the educational institutions and schools.
