Abstract

Social media plays a significant role in the lives of Generation Z, especially in influencing knowledge and behavior related to reproductive health. This study aims to describe the impact of social media on reproductive health among generation Z, including the issue of early marriage, risky sexual behavior, and pregnancy outside of marriage. The results showed that free access to pornographic content and lack of reproductive health education are the main factors that encourage these negative behaviors. Early marriage risks causing health complications such as LBW, anemia, and hypertension, while risky sexual behavior increases the rate of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). In addition, pregnancy outside of marriage often occurs due to low knowledge of reproductive health and weak parental supervision. Prevention efforts involve the active role of the government, parents, and proper education to build a good understanding of reproductive health. Thus, controlling the use of social media and increasing reproductive health literacy are important solutions to overcome this problem among Generation Z.

Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (Type 2 DM) is a chronic disease also called kencing manis which is caused by a metabolic disorder characterized by an increase in blood sugar due to a decrease in insulin secretion by pancreatic beta cells or due to impaired insulin function (insulin resistance). There are several factors that are a potential risk of DM disease that are inherent in the individual and also their lifestyle. This study aims to analyze the potential risks of diabetes mellitus. The research design was case control with 54 respondents consisting of 27 case groups and 27 control groups. Data collection was carried out by interviews at each respondent's home.  Data were analyzed using a measure of the relationship between exposure (risk factors) and disease incidence which is called Odd Ratio (OR) analysis or what is called opportunity analysis. Individuals with a habit of consuming sweet foods have a 1.39 times greater risk of developing Type 2 DM compared to those who rarely consume sweet foods. Individuals with a habit of rarely exercising have a 4.73 times greater risk of developing Type 2 DM compared to those who have a habit of exercising regularly. And individuals with a nuclear family history of suffering from DM have a 6.25 times greater risk of developing Type 2 DM compared to those who do not have a nuclear family history of suffering from DM. Type 2 DM can be caused by people's consumption patterns, one of which is the habit of consuming sweet foods or foods that contain high levels of glucose. Other causes are physical activity habits, including exercise habits, and family history, which are factors that can cause Type 2 DM.

Abstract

This  systematic  literature  review  aims  to  evaluate  the neurodevelopmental, behavioral, and physiological impacts of lead (Pb) exposure in both children and occupationally exposed populations. Using the PRISMA framework, we reviewed 13 peer-reviewed studies published between 2013 and 2023. The studies include a range of methodologies- longitudinal, cross-sectional, experimental, and systematic reviews assessing lead exposure’s health effects. Databases were screened based on inclusion criteria focused on cognitive, behavioral, or physiological outcomes linked to lead levels in blood or tissues. Across studies, childhood lead exposure was consistently associated with lower intelligence scores, behavioral disorders (e.g., aggression, hyperactivity, depression), and increased risks for mental health conditions. Occupational exposure, particularly among gas station workers and forecourt attendants, was linked to chronic fatigue, sleep disturbances, and potential neurodegenerative conditions like ALS. The neurotoxic mechanisms included oxidative stress, neurotransmitter disruption, and long-term accumulation in bones. Notably, even low-level lead exposure resulted in significant adverse effects, with no safe threshold identified. These findings underline the critical need for public health interventions including environmental regulation, routine blood lead screening, protective workplace protocols, and early childhood monitoring. Prevention and awareness programs are essential to reduce lifelong harm from lead exposure, particularly in vulnerable populations.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding plays an important role in the growth and development of the baby. Milk production can be increased through oxytocin massage. Oxytocin massage is a massage along the spine, which functions to increase oxytocin. The study aimed to determine the results of the application of oxytocin massage on the smooth production of breast milk. This type of research is qualitative with a case study research method using the Continuity Of Care midwifery care approach which is carried out continuously from pregnancy to the postpartum period. This oxytocin massage is done during the first 5 days postpartum, where in 1 day 1 massage is done in the afternoon for 10-15 minutes. Oxytocin massage evaluation was carried out on the 6th day. The result of the study showed that after the oxytocin massage, the mother felt calmer and more relaxed, and the milk production increased as evidenced by the increase in the baby's weight for 6 days. Oxytocin massage has been proven to facilitate breast milkproduction as seen from the baby's weight gain of 300 grams.
