Abstract

Patient safety is a hospital system aimed at minimizing risks and preventing injury caused by errors in action or inaction. This study aims to explore the implementation of patient safety by nurses at RSUD Daha Husada Kediri using a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews with inpatient nurses selected by purposive sampling. Source triangulation was used for credibility, focusing on six patient safety goals: patient identification, effective communication, medication safety, correct procedure and site, fall prevention, and infection risk reduction. The findings showed that five of the six safety goals were fully implemented (100%), while others had not achieved maximum outcomes due to nurses' habits, awareness, and lack of routine training. Supporting infrastructure and SOPs were already in place. The study suggests improving orientation for new staff, empowering unit heads as role models, and strengthening routine monitoring and evaluation to ensure consistent and optimal patient safety practices across all units.

Abstract

The referral system is a crucial component of healthcare services to ensure patients receive optimal care. The Sisrute version 2 application is expected to improve the efficiency of referrals from Puskesmas to higher-level health facilities. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the implementation of Sisrute version 2 by Puskesmas in Kediri City using a quantitative approach with Pearson correlation analysis. A total of 65 healthcare workers participated as respondents. The results showed that leadership support (r = 0.578, p < 0.01), communication networks (r = 0.368, p < 0.01), staff motivation (r = 0.284, p < 0.05), and training (r = 0.368, p< 0.01) had significant relationships with Sisrute implementation. Meanwhile, gender, education, and age were not significantly related. In conclusion, the successful implementation of Sisrute version 2 is influenced by leadership support, networks, motivation, and training. Strengthening these factors through supportive policies and competency development can enhance referral system effectiveness.

Abstract

Indonesia's dual burden of tuberculosis and COVID-19 has highlighted the critical role of global health partnerships in strengthening infectious disease control. This study examines how collaborations with organizations such as WHO, the Global Fund, and USAID have supported Indonesia's response, particularly in TB detection, case management, and pandemic adaptation. A qualitative literature review was conducted, analyzing ten peer-reviewed studies published between 2020 and 2025. The findings reveal that while global partnerships facilitated knowledge transfer, financial assistance, and digital innovation, challenges persist in coordination, private sector integration, and policy alignment. The study concludes that sustained commitment, institutional capacity, and harmonized governance are essential to maximize the impact of international cooperation on national disease control strategies.

Abstract

A situational analysis was conducted in the working area of the Mrican Community Health Center, Kediri City, through surveys and SQ-FFQ interviews with mothers of toddlers. The data showed energy and protein intake deficits in toddlers. This study aims to develop catfish nuggets as a functional food for toddlers,  providing  an  alternative  nutritious  snack  for  those  who  are undernourished. The product was developed from local ingredients such as catfish, carrots, eggs, cornstarch, and white bread. Organoleptic test results showed the best acceptability of catfish nuggets. The average organoleptic value of a color parameter of catfish nuggets was 4.1, and chicken nuggets was 4.27. The aroma parameter of the catfish nugget was 4.27, and the chicken nugget was 3.63. The texture parameter of the catfish nugget was 4.2, and the chicken nugget was 3.13. The flavor parameter of the catfish nugget was 4.53, and the chicken nugget was 3.53. Catfish nuggets have more potential than chicken nuggets. The highest percentage of acceptance in color, aroma, texture, and taste parameters is  found in catfish nuggets. In color parameters, many say that catfish nuggets are lacking because the color is darker. The taste parameter is more savory in catfish nuggets.

Abstract

Pumpkin or Cucurbita moschata is one of the plants food sources that have high nutritional and fine fiber so that it is easily digested. The use of pumpkin mixture with supplementary feeding toddler biscuits will increase the nutritional value of supplementary feeding toddlers because pumpkin meat has a rich content of vitamins A, B and C, minerals, and carbohydrates. In this study, pumpkin and supplementary feeding biscuits were processed into steamed cake, cookies, and pudding with the aim of knowing the acceptability and food waste of steamed cake, cookies, and pudding. This research was conducted at the Taman Posyandu Melati Dawuhan Kidul Village, Papar District, Kediri Regency. The data collection technique of this study used the residual food acceptance test (Comstok) with descriptive analysis method and with quasi-experimental method conducted on 23 randomly selected respondents with the criteria of toddlers aged 3-5 years and are members of taman posyandu Melati who are not allergic to food ingredients. Based on the acceptability test of the remaining steamed cake food with 0% residue as much as 60%, cookies remaining 0% as much as 43.40%, pudding remaining 0% as much as 13%. Acceptability test of food waste with 0% food waste is steamed cake as much as 60%. It is recommended that for cookies products, the texture is less dry, the addition of pumpkin is reduced. The pudding is too mushy, so the ratio of agar flour is still lacking. The purpose of this study was to determine the acceptability of the remaining steamed cake, cookies, and pudding. Using of local and affordable food is necessary for the health of toddlers

Abstract

Adolescents in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) often face mental health challenges while having limited access to relevant education and services. Mental Health Literacy (MHL) plays a crucial role in early recognition, stigma reduction, and appropriate help-seeking behavior. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of a community-based mental health education intervention in improving mental health literacy among adolescents in an Islamic boarding school setting. A quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was conducted involving 80 students aged 13–18 years in Nganjuk, East Java. The intervention included video-based modules, peer discussions, and counseling facilitated by school health units (UKS) and mental health cadres. The Adolescent Mental Health Literacy Questionnaire (AMHLQ) was used to measure knowledge, attitudes, and mental health awareness before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using paired t-tests. There was a significant improvement in mental health literacy scores from pretest (M = 64.75, SD = 7.42) to posttest (M = 78.63, SD = 6.98), with a t- count of 11.42 (p < 0.001). The intervention was effective in enhancing students’ understanding of mental health concepts, reducing stigma, and encouraging help- seeking behaviors. Factors such as age, gender, and length of stay in the pesantren may have influenced outcomes. Community-based, culturally tailored mental health education using multimedia and peer support significantly improves adolescent mental health literacy in Islamic boarding schools. Strengthening the role of school-based health units and digital tools is recommended for future mental health promotion in similar settings.
