Abstract

Pulmonary TB is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium Tuberculosis. Transmission of Pulmonary TB can be prevented by covering the mouth when coughing or sneezing by using a mask. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with compliance with the use of masks by Pulmonary TB patients at the Lung Polyclinic of Era Medika Hospital. The study design was cross-sectional. This study was conducted by direct observation and collecting data on Pulmonary TB patients at the Lung Polyclinic of Era Medika Hospital simultaneously. The population of this study were all patients at the Lung Polyclinic of Era Medika Hospital. The sample used was some of the patients at the Lung Polyclinic of Era Medika Hospital who were diagnosed with Pulmonary TB as many as 75 patients using the Accidental Sampling technique. The independent variables of this study were patient attitudes, patient motivation, patient perceptions, and the availability of masks. The dependent variable of this study was compliance with the use of masks. The study used a questionnaire sheet. Data analysis used univariate analysis and bivariate analysisand using statistical testsPearson Chi-Square. The results of the study explain that there is a relationship between attitudes and compliance with mask use (p-value 0.000) the frequency of respondents with positive attitudes was 53 respondents (69.3%) and respondents who comply with mask use were 50 respondents (66.7%). There is no relationship between patient motivation and compliance with mask use (p-value 0.477) where the frequency of patient motivation is high 74 respondents (98.7%). There is a relationship between patient perception and compliance with mask use (p-value 0.000) with a frequency of positive perception of 42 respondents (56%). There is a relationship between the availability of masks and patient compliance with mask use (p-value 0.000) with the frequency of respondents providing masks as many as 49 respondents (65.3%). It is hoped that patients will implement education related to compliance with mask use that has been provided by doctors at the Lung Polyclinic, Era Medika Hospital.

The research design used was observational with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study was 1296 toddlers using the Proportion to size sampling technique, a sample of 301 Posyandu was obtained. The statistical analysis used was the Chi Square Spearman Correlation statistical test. Based on the results of this study, it is known that the participation of pregnant women in the Pregnant Women's Class at the Pesantren 1 Health Center in Kediri City was mostly active, namely 250 people (81.7%). The participation of pregnant women in integrated ANC (Ante Natal Care) at the Pesantren 1 Health Center in Kediri City was mostly active, namely 292 people (95.4%). The results of the Spearman Correlation analysis of Stunting incidents in toddlers showed that from the independent variables, namely the participation of pregnant women in the pregnant women's class, the strongest correlation was with the incidence of stunting at the Pesantren 1 Health Center in Kediri City. Improving the implementation of the pregnant women's Class and integrated ANC activities for Pregnant Women in order to prevent stunting.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that can attack people of all ages caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Parental knowledge plays a role in parental behavior and awareness of disease prevention efforts. Exposure to cigarettes causes a decrease in the immune system, making it susceptible to disease. Nutritional status also plays a role in the body's immunity, where a body with good nutritional intake will strengthen the body's immunity so that it can attack incoming foreign antigens. BCG immunization is a basic immunization that must be given to children to help prevent tuberculosis. The purpose the research to find out the determinants of the incidence of pulmonary TB in children aged 0-14 years in the Sukorame Community Health Center UPTD Working Area. This research is a quantitative study using a cross sectional method. The research samples were positive TB sufferers and TB suspects who were recorded in children's TB reports in the Sukorame Community Health Center working area. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Data analysis used SPSS software with the chi square statistical test. Results: Based on the results of the chi square test, it was found that parents' knowledge about pulmonary TB had a p-value of 0.059 for children, family smoking habits had a p-value of 0.021 for children, children's nutritional status had a p-value of 1.000 for children, and children's BCG immunization status had a p-value of 0.577 for children's pulmonary TB. It can be concluded that the variable family smoking habits is related to the incidence of pulmonary TB in children, while the variables of knowledge, nutritional status and BCG immunization have no relationship.

Abstract

The high prevalence of tobacco causes a dual crisis (health and environment) in Indonesia. Currently, tobacco control interventions are only echoed focusing on the dangers of cigarette smoke to health, not touching on the issue of sustainability to environmental impacts. The purpose of the research is to find out the challenges, innovations and strategies in dealing with the tobacco crisis. A systematic literature review using Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, and Garuda Portal databases which is limited to published articles from January 2015 – June 2025. The search strategy uses a combination of keywords with Boolean (AND/OR) operators. The search selection uses inclusion and exclusion criteria. The selection process uses the PRISMA guide. A trend of programs that combine digital technology and ecological awareness has been found, but its scalability is still limited. A paradigm shift towards relevant integrated programs for young people is needed to effectively address this crisis.

Abstract

River water is one of the main sources of community needs in rural areas, including in Seruyan Regency. This study aims to assess the feasibility of utilizing water from the Seruyan River Basin (DAS) for public health. The research method uses a qualitative approach with data triangulation and water pollution index analysis based on environmental quality standards. Data were obtained from field observations, documentation studies, and in-depth interviews with residents, community health center officers, village officials, and environmental agencies. The results show that the water pollution index of the Seruyan River Basin is in the light to moderate pollution category, with water quality not yet fully meeting quality standards for household clean water needs. Residents still use river water for bathing, washing, and daily activities, despite frequent complaints of skin problems and digestive disorders. Interviews with health workers confirmed that skin disease complaints are quite high in the riverbank area. It was concluded that the use of Seruyan River water is unsuitable for direct consumption without treatment. Improvements in water quality management, public education, and local government policies regarding clean water provision are recommended.
