Abstract

Santong Mulia Village is one of 10 villages located in Kayangan District, North Lombok Regency which has a high risk of earthquake disasters. To face earthquake disasters, disaster preparedness and mitigation are needed. The method of activity carried out is conducting Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and socialization. Participants in community empowerment activities are the hamlet head of Santong Mulia village, the Village Disaster Preparedness Team (TSBD), BPD and the community. The activity was carried out on Tuesday 9 January 2024 at the Community Evacuation Center (PEM) building in Santong Mulia village. This activity aims to increase preparedness capacity and increase community participation in disaster mitigation, especially earthquakes. The result of this community empowerment activity is increased awareness and preparedness of the Santong Mulia Village Community regarding disaster mitigation. Activities that have been carried out include socialization regarding village disaster documents, destana development, inclusive disaster management and earthquake-resistant houses. The results of data processing from 10 respondents showed that before holding the socialization, 54% of the community already had knowledge about disaster preparedness and mitigation, while the other 46% did not have the knowledge. This happens because of the lack of education to the public regarding disaster preparedness and mitigation. After holding the outreach, the community's knowledge regarding disaster preparedness and mitigation changed to 100% of the community having knowledge about disasters and disaster mitigation. The relative growth results show an increase in public knowledge regarding disasters and disaster mitigation by 85.19%.

Abstract

Giri Tembesi Village is a village located in Gerung District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. This village consists of 7 hamlets spread across its territory. This village is also the southernmost tip of Gerung District. This village was originally part of Banyu Urip Village, Gerung District, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara and was expanded in 2015. The population of Giri Tembesi Village based on 2022 data is 4431 people, with 1483 heads of families. With Potential In this village, there are many people who work on agricultural products to sell and process them into products that have sales value such as mustofa cassava and potato donuts. However, limited public knowledge regarding the development of processed cassava-based products, and the lack of good processing techniques and a small market share hamper the development of the potential of the agricultural sector in the village. Therefore, efforts need to be made to improve the quality of cassava production and improve the processing process so that it can have a positive impact on the economic development and welfare of the people of Giri Tembesi Village. The main work program in implementing this KKN includes counseling on the creativity of processed cassava products, making processed foods, and marketing processed cassava products in Giri Tembesi Village.

Abstract

Vetiver grass (Chrysopogon zizanioides) is a large grass plant and has long and strong roots. Vetiver grass has an important role in minimizing erosion, soil conservation and controlling landslides. The introduction of vetiver grass as a plant to resist erosion and landslides in steep and sandy areas can have a positive impact. However, public knowledge about vetiver grass is still lacking, while the community's need, especially for handling landslides, is very high. The main purpose of planting vetiver grass is to use it as cultivation and from an economic perspective it can help as a new business opportunity for the residents of Giri Madia Village. The method used in writing this article is a qualitative approach with the aim of placing greater emphasis on aspects of an in-depth understanding of the use of vetiver as an opportunity that can be used as a business for the people of Giri Madia Village. The results obtained from this activity are helping residents to increase their knowledge of vetiver grass plants which have economic benefits and can prevent landslides. The existence of demonstration plots in two hamlets in Giri Madia village has resulted in knowledge and awareness regarding landslide disaster mitigation. The workshop is able to provide knowledge about how to prepare seeds, then provide planting media, materials and how to plant and care for vetiver grass so that it can grow and reproduce in order to prevent landslides. The planting was in two hamlets in Giri Madia Village, namely Leong and Leong Jaya Hamlets, because the Village Head recommended that we focus on these two hamlets. The role of the community in Leong Hamlet is active, but their role in maintaining vetiver grass is decreasing day by day because they are busy working. For participation in Leong Jaya Hamlet, it was felt that there was not enough attention paid to caring for the demonstration plots and seedling houses, there were several factors, namely that they had jobs as workers on plantations. So the solution is that the hamlet head must collaborate with the local community for the maintenance and upkeep of the demonstration plot and seedling house.

Abstract

Akar Akar Village is mostly a dry land area with rainfall that only appears at the end of December and even in 2024 the first rain will appear at the beginning of January and will end sooner than other areas, thus this area is a dry area or has less access. water so that water problems are an important problem. This area is very suitable for the growth and production of fruit plants including grapes, longans, mangoes with premium quality results. Cultivating grapes has great advantages if people want to manage these plants and grapevines are very suitable on dry land such as in root villages and do not require a lot of water. The price of grapes is quite high and allows for a significant increase in income. The problems that have been identified are then carried out mapping of village potential which is carried out in socialization and village community empowerment activities which are carried out in 1 activity. In order to support community empowerment as an effort to improve the community's economy in the long term, the KKN group seeks to provide outreach regarding good and correct ways to cultivate grapes and hold field schools in vineyards to increase community knowledge. There are several grape plants that have been cultivated in every resident's yard. The grape seeds chosen for cultivation are imported types, because imported seeds are one of the seeds that will produce a higher market price compared to local seeds. This activity program is carried out to increase public knowledge about how to plant grapes correctly and be successful in harvesting grapes. Planting grapes can help a village become prosperous if the community already knows good and correct grape cultivation techniques and the potential of grapes as a profitable business

Abstract

Leming Village is a village located in the Terara District, East Lombok Regency, which is known for its large number of cattle breeders. The cow manure produced by these livestock has become an important issue that needs to be addressed in Leming Village due to the increasing amount of waste produced. Livestock waste, such as cow manure and other organic materials such as leaves, rice straw, and corn stalks, are the main sources of organic fertilizer. This organic fertilizer is useful in building soil fertility, especially if its use is done continuously over a long period of time. This activity aims to increase the understanding and skills of the community in managing cattle manure and organic waste into compost that is useful for agriculture and environmental cleanliness. This activity is carried out through socialization activities regarding the organic compost program from cattle manure and organic waste, implementation of activities in the form of counseling and compost making techniques from cattle manure and organic waste, as well as additional materials that will be used to accelerate compost making, then conducting evaluation and monitoring as well as community assistance. The results of the compost making process showed that temperature and pH checks were carried out twice, where the checks were carried out in the first and second weeks after the compost was made. The temperature check results in the first week showed that the temperature of the compost was 35°C with a pH of 5.5 and in the second week showed a value of 27°C and pH 7. With this activity, the community can process cattle manure into organic fertilizer, reduce the cost of purchasing chemical fertilizers, and maintain soil fertility better than the use of chemical fertilizers that can reduce fertility.
