Abstract

The purpose of this Community Service is to develop philology lecture materials for PBSI students and guide students in conducting philology manuscript studies at the Siginjei Jambi Museum. The Service Learning method of this community service uses socialization in the form of lectures, providing materials, and field studies. The Service Learning method is carried out because of the nature of serving the community through a community or several people who aim to develop themselves. The number of students in this activity is 21. The results of this Community Service are data to be written into the PKM report, which is the main task of lecturers in the Tri Dharma of higher education and to add to the teaching materials used in learning philology courses. The conclusion is that this assistance aims to develop philology lecture materials for students, where materials related to philology, namely manuscripts/handscripts, can be actualized through this visit.

Abstract

The purpose of this Community Service is an effort to create new independent entrepreneurs based on science and technology that are expected to be in accordance with their fields of knowledge in the digital era, the IbK program can be implemented in the form of entrepreneurship training. This community service method uses socialization in the form of lectures and providing materials, students. The results of this Community Service provide entrepreneurial knowledge, encourage the growth of entrepreneurial motivation, increase understanding of management (organization, production, finance, and marketing) and create business plans or business feasibility studies. The conclusion is that students know how the world works, and what their role is in society.

Abstract

This journal discusses an outreach initiative on the calculation of the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) conducted for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bumi Jaya Village. MSMEs play a vital role in economic growth and job creation in Indonesia. However, many MSME owners face challenges in financial management, particularly in accurately calculating COGS. This outreach aimed to enhance financial literacy and provide a clear understanding of the components of COGS, including raw material costs, labor, and overhead expenses. The training methods included lectures, practical applications, and mentoring, all designed to ensure participant engagement. The activity took place on October 31, 2024, and was met with high enthusiasm from participants, who expressed readiness to apply the acquired knowledge to their businesses. This initiative is expected to assist participants in setting competitive product prices and improving the sustainability of their enterprises.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out to provide a deeper understanding of emotional intelligence to Generation Z students. Based on the situation and problems faced by students of Batanghari Jambi University, the Community Service Team took the initiative to provide education on understanding emotional intelligence for Gen Z students at Batanghari Jambi University. The results of this activity: 1) The ability of Gen Z students to accept, assess, manage, and control their emotions and those of others around them, 2) Emotional intelligence refers to the ability to recognize our own feelings and the feelings of others, and 3) The ability to motivate oneself, and the ability to manage emotions well in oneself and in relationships with others. So it is concluded that this activity can improve the emotional intelligence of Gen Z in preparing themselves to be better.

Abstract

The research conducted through community service aims to develop artificial intelligence (AI)-based software capable of detecting students' emotions at SMKS Methodist 8 in real time, as an effort to support teachers in implementing a more adaptive and responsive learning approach. This system is designed by integrating facial recognition and emotional expression analysis through a camera, which is then processed using the Certainty Factor method to determine the confidence level of the detected emotional classification. This approach allows the system to generate emotional diagnoses with a reliable degree of confidence, based on predefined parameters. Test results have shown that the software is capable of detecting several basic emotions such as happiness, sadness, anger, and neutrality with an adequate level of accuracy. The implementation of this system in classrooms is expected to assist teachers in quickly identifying students’ emotional states, allowing learning strategies to be adjusted accordingly to improve the effectiveness of the learning process. Therefore, this technology offers an innovative solution in supporting the improvement of education quality through an approach that focuses on individual students.
