Jurnal Ilmu Kesejahteraan Sosial or Journal of Social Welfare (JIKS) is an academic journal on social welfare issues. JIKS invites academia and practitioners to send their articles to contribute their research and experiences in social welfare. A research article should be from original research and assess its contribution to social welfare. The conceptual study focuses on the empirical development of theory or concept in social welfare issues. The article can discuss theories and concepts based on themes and intervention levels. Abstract

Pesantren is one of educational institution which base on religion. Program Interagency Network for Prevention of Violence against Women (VAW) is an innovation to increase the function of Pesantren as a service institution for woman violence victim. The main focus of this program is designing a center of Perlindungan bagi Wanita (Puspita), a women's crises center base on Pesantren. Pesantren set as a center of advocating for woman, because Pesantren has a very strategist task in doing various change in society. However we realized that Pesantren has no distribution yet and also in effort for preventing violation on woman, especially which base on understanding of religion, that has a gender bias.

Abstract

The aim of this article is to give some information and attempt to raise awareness about behavior problem among children in or around the school in terms of abuse or intimidation (bullying). School as intitution, gives knowlege and skill to develop positive self-potential for students cannot be completedly reached. For the children who became the victim, schools are no longer can give them feeling secure and hapiness. School bullying occured long time, but there is only small attention from school, parents, communities, because they considered it as a normal behavior dan become tradition in school. Bullying can bring fear and hopelesness into life. Sadly, people pay attention when the victim committed suicidot death because physical abuse. This article explains about defining bullying, types of bullying, characteristic of bullies and the victims, and away to prevent and stop bullying.

Abstract

The change sanitation behaviour is one efford to increase the healthy quality of the environment. The hygiene disposal excreta is one activities to develop quality for healthy environment. Disposal excreta have relatation with human behaviour/habits. The bad sanitation behavior and unsaniter condition from sanitation services could make environment polution. Based on that condition, one efford to enhance the quality of the environment is by changing sanitation behaviour.

Abstract

Children empowerment through sex education can prevent children from sexual abuse. Sex education absolutely can be more efective for children if it is given earlier by parents. The problem is their parents often do not know what the importance of sex education. Although parents know that sex education is important, they do not want to do it because they still feel embarrassed. To fulfill the needs of parents to deliver knowledge about sex education is one of the effort to prevent child sexual abuse, a seminar had been held in this action research. After joining the seminar, there were many audiences who had will to change their all aspects of attitude. They accepted the idea which was proposed in this social marketing because they got the knowledge that sex education can prevent their children from sexual abuse. So that the feeling of embarrassment which was being a wall for them in doing sex education could be minimized.

Abstract

This research discussed about the efforts of child protection through the implementation of shelter children service at Rumah Peduli Anak Tenaga Kerja Indonesia (RPA-TKI). The purpose of this research is to describe on the protection of and services provided by RPA-TKI to children who are vulnerable to the TKI neglect and child trafficking. This research is qualitative research with the kind of descriptive research. The results of this research described that the service which is provided by RPA-TKI is child protection services in the form of children’s shelter in order to meet the basic needs of TKI’s children. The service of the children’s shelter which is served by RPA-TKI is going well although it has not implemented the manual standard of children’s shelter

Abstract

Background of this research is based on the increasing opportunities for women to work. The aims of this research are to find out correlation between double role conflict with performance, and correlation between social support with performance of women civil servants at Social Welfare Office in Province of North Sumatra. Which is done at 85 respondents in 99 total respondents, this research indicates that correlation between double role conflict with performance, through Gamma test, has intermediate or enough degree of association in -0,423 and not be significant. Whereas, correlation between social support with performance, through Gamma test, has intermediate or enough degree of association in 0,470 and significance.

Previous studies showed that a person’s resilience is affected by many factors. Poverty is considered to be one of the factors that can interfere a person’s resilience. Resilience at every age is different, the resilience in adults and children is also different. Furthermore, it is interesting to explore resilience of poor children and the role of the system environment in which children live. Abstract

As an educational institution, PAUD can provides protection and serves as an educational institution that support student health. This role is inseparable from the role of educators, including tutors roles at PAUD Arsari located in North Jakarta. The purpose of this study was to describe PAUD Arsari’s effort in controlling student’s buying habit and to describe barriers experienced by PAUD Arsari’s in an attempt to control students’ buying habit. Using qualitative research approach, data collection was conducted by literature study, interviews and observation. Based on the findings, PAUD Arsari have some policies and implementation methods in controlling students’ buying habit. PAUD Arsari realize that these efforts can support students’ growth and developmet.
