Jurnal Ilmu Kesejahteraan Sosial or Journal of Social Welfare (JIKS) is an academic journal on social welfare issues. JIKS invites academia and practitioners to send their articles to contribute their research and experiences in social welfare. A research article should be from original research and assess its contribution to social welfare. The conceptual study focuses on the empirical development of theory or concept in social welfare issues. The article can discuss theories and concepts based on themes and intervention levels. Abstract

The phenomena of bullying, particularly in education has happened for a long time. However, for various reasons does not appear on the surface. Bullying has negative effects on its victims. It can affect undesirable traits in a child’s development in the future, especially if they are dominated by negative emotions. In association with schools, an anti- bullying program is needed in order to create a peaceful learning process at schools. This research was conducted at 3 high schools in Jakarta. Based on previous findings, it can be seen that teachers and students does not understand bullying behavior and it’s negative impacts on students. The research aims to provide information and raise awareness on the violence and persecution at schools through a anti-bullying program in order to create a more peaceful environment at schools. A qualitative method was used for this research and an action research type was conducted, which consisted of 3 stages: look, think and act. The result of the anti-bullying socialization showed that there is an increasing understanding of bullying however there are some limitations to minimize bullying at schools. In addition, schools has not implemented specific rules about bullying and requires the cooperation among stakeholders, namely teachers, students and parents in order to create a peaceful school.

Abstract

This article discusses about the social rehabilitation efforts in handling the homeless and beggars in Jakarta at Panti sosial Bina Insani (PSBI BD 2) Cipayung. Researcher conducting a qualitative descriptive on this study.The findings from this research show that social rehabilitation efforts in homeshelter is not maximized so that the homeless people and beggars in Jakarta tends to return to the street after getting coaching in this homeshalter. This research provide a recommendation to the government to provide a homeshalter which focused for homeless and beggars social rehabilitation, give strict punishment to the homeless and beggars who are back on the street and increases quality and quantity of human resourcesservant.

Abstract

This article describes the effort in protecting children in need of special protection, especially to the family who have children in risk of being economically exploitated or children who have been economically exploitated by their parents. The problems of these children occur because they cannot access the basic services for them. This happened not only because the limited services from the government, but this could also happened because of the family life-style or the process of child rearing undertaken by their parents. Therefore this article describes the efforts in improving the resiliciency of poor family with children in the risk of being economically exploitated or children who have been economically exploitated by their parents or by their environments.

Abstract

During Millennium Summit 2000 the United Nations (UN) has declared the Millennium Development Goals. The UN acknowledges the importance of poverty problems. The first goal of MDGs is to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger The declaration also mentioned that proportion of people whose income is less than one dollar a day and people who suffer from hunger should decrease by half in 25 years (from 1990 to 2015) Related to poverty problems The 8th goal of MDGs is to develop a global partnership for development Global Partnership, in this case, could be seen by giving opportunities for people from developing countries to learn about the nature of poverty and the policy and programmes related to poverty reduction that have been developed the developed countries. Abstract

The various policies which related to HIV/AIDS in Indonesia is continue to be developed in line with the increasing number of HIV/AIDS cases in Indonesia since the cases were first found in 1987 By using the framework of a retrospective policy analysis (analysis of policy), this paper will review the formulation of the policy and its contents, seen from several dimensions that are interconnected with one another, ie the contents of the policy (content), national and international contextual conditions (context), policy-making (process) and the actors that play the role and influence in the policy-making (actors) Policy analysis is described based on three periods. Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the understanding of the concept of bullying from the teachers, students and the perpetrator, the victim's parent and also the efforts to prevent bullying and the constraints to eliminate bullying in schools. This research was conducted with qualitative research approach and descriptive research with research sites in SMUN in South Jakarta. The survey results revealed that the school including teachers, perpetrators and victims of bullying and parents do not understand about bullying which is still a lot of bullying occurred at school However the school has sought to minimize with various efforts such as granting sanctions against perpetrators, although bullying often happens outside the school environment so that it is difficult to detect In addition there is a tendency also from the school to cover up the problem of school bullying because this is one leading school in South Jakarta district
