Abstract

The issue of climate change is a global challenge that has a broad impact on human life, including the younger generation as the future heirs. From an Islamic perspective, the environment is not merely a biological living space, but a divine mandate that must be protected and managed responsibly by humans as caliphs on earth. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach to analyze environmental values ​​in Islamic teachings and their relevance in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. Research data sources include the Qur'an, hadith, academic books, scientific journals, and publications discussing Islamic ecology and environmental education. The results show that the concept of the caliph, the prohibition of fasād, the principle of mīzān, and the anti-isrāf attitude provide a strong theological foundation for building students' ecological awareness. These values ​​can be systematically integrated into materials on faith, morals, jurisprudence, and practice-based learning through ecological activities in schools. PAI learning functions not only as a transfer of religious knowledge, but also as an instrument for forming ecological character based on Islamic spirituality. Thus, Islamic Religious Education has the potential to be an educational strategy for developing a generation that cares about the environment, behaves in an environmentally friendly manner, and is able to contribute to sustainable climate change mitigation from a moral, social, and spiritual perspective.

Abstract

Environmental awareness is a crucial aspect in developing students' character in the modern era, particularly in the face of global challenges such as climate change, environmental damage, and natural resource degradation. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) holds significant potential in contributing to increasing students' environmental awareness through the integration of spiritual values ​​and contextual learning practices. This study aims to analyze the role of PAI in increasing students' environmental awareness through a literature review of various recent scientific sources. The research method used is a descriptive literature review approach, which examines theories, research findings, and practices of integrating Islamic values ​​into environmental education. The study's findings indicate that Islamic teachings, such as the concept of caliph (leader), amanah (responsibility), the prohibition on destroying the earth, and the recommendation to maintain cleanliness and preserve nature, play a significant role in shaping students' ecological behavior. Furthermore, the application of project-based learning methods, value-based learning, and reflective learning models have been shown to help students connect religious teachings with concrete actions in environmental protection. Thus, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) not only teaches ritual aspects, but also plays a strategic role in building ecological awareness as part of the implementation of faith, morals, and social responsibility.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a strategic role in supporting the holistic development of students, particularly in the context of achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 on mental health and well-being. This article discusses the contribution of PAI to improving students' mental, spiritual, and socio-emotional health through a values-based approach, religious practices, and religious character development. Various studies have shown that PAI can improve emotional regulation, reduce anxiety and stress levels, and develop spiritual coping mechanisms through the internalization of the concepts of tawakkal (trust), patience, gratitude, and self-control. Furthermore, PAI also plays a role in strengthening students' religious identity from an early age, resulting in increased self-discipline, a meaningful life orientation, and spiritual resilience. Socially, PAI learning contributes to creating a harmonious school environment through the formation of morals, the instilling of tolerance, and the strengthening of social interactions based on empathy and brotherhood. However, previous research has identified limitations in methodological aspects and curriculum implementation, necessitating the development of more contextual, adaptive, and evidence-based PAI learning models. Thus, the results of this study confirm that Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is a crucial element in creating students who not only excel academically but also possess balanced mental and spiritual well-being, in line with the goals of national education based on values ​​and humanization.

Abstract

Learning long jump techniques in sports coaching education requires training methods that are not only effective but also capable of increasing athlete motivation and engagement. One emerging approach is the use of games as a training method. This literature review aims to analyze the effectiveness of a game-based approach in improving long jump technical skills, including the run-up, take-off, airborne, and landing. A review of several studies conducted between 2018 and 2024 indicates that game-based methods significantly improve motor coordination, explosive leg muscle power, and rhythmic movement ability compared to conventional training approaches. This approach has also been shown to increase self-confidence, training enthusiasm, and concentration in both beginner and elementary and secondary school athletes. Furthermore, game-based learning is considered more adaptive to the psychological development of young athletes because it provides a fun, competitive, and non-monotonous atmosphere. This study concludes that game-based training methods are highly relevant for application in the context of sports coaching education, particularly in long jump instruction, as they can improve technical performance, motivation, and the learning experience of athletes. Further research is recommended to develop more structured game models and analyze their impact on improving the performance of advanced athletes.

Abstract

The era of globalization and the development of digital technology have had a significant impact on the character formation of students, especially in elementary schools. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in instilling noble moral values ​​in students at SD Negeri 18 Kalosi through learning, teacher role models, religious habits, and collaboration between schools, families, and the community. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, which were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that Islamic Religious Education has a strategic role as a pillar of student moral formation through the integration of religious values ​​into learning and school activities. Teachers act as role models by displaying behavior in accordance with Islamic teachings, thus becoming moral models for students. School programs such as the Dhuha prayer, Al-Quran recitation, and Friday Blessings provide practical space for students to cultivate noble moral values. However, the biggest challenges arise from the influence of digital media, inconsistent mentoring at home, and limited parental collaboration. This study concludes that sustainable implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), supported by collaboration between families and the community, is essential for maintaining students' character amidst global developments. This research contributes to strengthening the practice of Islamic character education in elementary schools in response to social and cultural changes in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of scientific studies in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) through a bibliometric study approach. Bibliometric studies are used to map research trends, publication productivity, study focus, and authorship patterns in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) scientific journals. Research data was obtained from PAI journal articles published within a specific year and indexed nationally and internationally. Data collection techniques were conducted through electronic journal database searches using relevant keywords. Data analysis included the number of publications per year, dominant research themes, research methods used, and author collaborations. The results show a significant increase in publications in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) journals, with dominant themes including character education, values-based learning, religious moderation, and technology integration in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. The most commonly used research methods are descriptive qualitative and literature studies, while quantitative and experimental research remains relatively limited. Authorship patterns are dominated by single authors and two-author collaborations, indicating the need for increased academic collaboration across institutions. This study contributes to understanding the direction of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) research development and serves as a basis for developing further research to be more innovative and oriented towards contemporary educational needs.

Abstract

Learning in elementary schools needs to consider student characteristics so that the learning process is effective and meets students' needs. This study aims to identify the characteristics of fifth-grade students at SDN 47 Baubau, including learning styles, motivation, cognitive abilities, and socio-emotional aspects. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with 28 students and one class teacher as subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and questionnaires, while analysis was conducted through reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that visual and kinesthetic learning styles dominated (46% and 39%, respectively), while auditory students only made up 15%. Learning motivation was mostly moderate to high, with some students showing a lack of self-confidence. Cognitive abilities were heterogeneous; 32% quickly understood the material, while 68% required more intensive guidance. The socio-emotional aspect showed that most students were able to work together, but still needed guidance in communication and responsibility. These findings are consistent with studies by Jampel (2016) and Fianto et al. (2025) regarding variations in learning styles, as well as Salamah et al. (2023) and Samrotul Puadah et al. (2024) regarding learning motivation. The research emphasizes the importance of implementing differentiation strategies, contextual learning, and collaborative learning to ensure the holistic development of each student. These results are expected to serve as a basis for teachers in designing adaptive, effective, and student-centered learning.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using digital educational applications to improve early childhood literacy skills at TK AL-FIKR, Desa Morome, Kecamatan Konda. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data was collected through direct observation, interviews with teachers and parents, and documentation of children's literacy development over six weeks of using the digital educational application. The results of the study show that the digital educational application, which combines educational games, illustrated stories, and writing exercises, has a significant positive impact on children's engagement in literacy learning. Children who used the application were more active, enthusiastic, and able to recognize letters, read simple words, write sentences, and speak more clearly. Teachers and parents also reported an increase in children's interest in learning after using the application, as well as improvements in their speaking and writing abilities. However, supervision from teachers and parents is crucial to ensure the application is used effectively and remains focused on the learning objectives. The study concludes that digital educational applications are an effective tool in improving early childhood literacy skills, with full support from teachers and parents. These applications can be a valuable alternative in literacy learning in the digital age.

Abstract

Writing literacy is a fundamental competency that plays a crucial role in developing critical and creative thinking skills in elementary school students. However, writing instruction in schools tends to be product-oriented and does not provide enough space for students' in-depth thinking processes. This study aims to comprehensively examine how a deep learning approach can strengthen elementary school students' writing literacy. The method used was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of national and international scientific articles published between 2022 and 2025. Data was obtained through Google Scholar, DOAJ, SINTA, and Garuda databases with keywords related to writing literacy and deep learning. Selected articles were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The study results revealed five main findings: (1) writing literacy serves as a foundation for critical and creative thinking, (2) deep learning increases engagement and meaning in learning to write, (3) contextual and multiliteracies strategies strengthen the quality of students' writing, (4) the teacher's role as a facilitator is crucial to the success of writing learning, and (5) deep learning has a positive impact on students' motivation and writing independence. These findings confirm that writing instruction oriented toward understanding, reflection, and real-life contexts can develop students' writing quality and analytical thinking. Thus, an immersive learning approach is a relevant pedagogical strategy for building a culture of meaningful writing literacy in elementary schools.

Abstract

The Pillars of Islam are the main foundation of Islamic teachings, encompassing the dimensions of faith, worship, and social life. However, in the context of the lives of Muslim students, the implementation of the pillars of Islam is often understood as merely ritualistic practices without appreciating the moral and social values ​​they contain. This article aims to comprehensively examine the actualization of the pillars of Islam—from the shahada to the hajj—in the formation of the morals and daily behavior of Muslim students through a literature study approach. The method used is a literature review of classic and contemporary books, scientific journal articles, and relevant documents discussing the pillars of Islam, moral education, and student character. The results of the study indicate that each pillar of Islam has direct implications for the development of student personality, such as the shahada, which strengthens identity and integrity, prayer, which fosters discipline and moral awareness, zakat, which fosters social awareness, fasting, which trains self-control, and the hajj, which instills the values ​​of brotherhood and equality. The holistic actualization of the pillars of Islam not only strengthens students' religiosity but also contributes to the formation of noble morals in academic and social settings. Therefore, integrative efforts in higher education are needed to foster an understanding of the pillars of Islam that goes beyond rituals and is internalized in the attitudes, ethics, and behavior of Muslim students in their daily lives.
