Abstract

The effect of the reading corner program on the reading comprehension ability of grade IV students of MI Salafiah, Cirebon City, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. This study aims to determine the effect of the reading corner program on students' reading comprehension ability. This type of research is quantitative. The population of the study was all grade IV students of MI Salafiah, Cirebon City, totaling 52 students. In determining the sample, a purposive sampling technique was used, totaling 65 students, so that 27 students of grade IV C and 25 students of grade IV B who were diligent readers. Reading comprehension data were collected by tests and observation results. Data were analyzed using validity test analysis, instrument reliability test, descriptive statistics, prerequisite tests; normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test using the t test. The analysis test was carried out with the help of excel and SPSS 27 for windows. The results showed that there was a significant positive effect with a sig. value of 0.001 <0.05. The reading corner program on reading comprehension of Indonesian in grade IV students at MI Salafiah, Cirebon City.

Abstract

This study intends to create digital comic resources to enhance scientific understanding among fifth-grade learners at MI Al-Washliyah Perbutulan. The motivation behind this research stems from students' enthusiasm for science literacy and the insufficient availability of varied media, particularly digital options. The methodology followed is Research and Development (RandD) using the ADDIE development framework, which includes five phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection tools include validation surveys from experts, student feedback, and assessments of science literacy through pretests and posttests. Findings indicated that the digital comic resources produced were deemed valid with ratings of 97% from media specialists, 97% from subject matter specialists, and 75% from language experts. The comics’ practicality was rated at 88%, classified as practical for educational purposes, and they proved effective in enhancing students' scientific literacy, demonstrated by a 0. 66 increase in the N-Gain score, which is considered quite effective. These materials were created using digital platforms like Pixton and Canva, making them easily accessible and engaging for students. Therefore, digital comics are appropriate as a technology-driven educational resource to boost scientific literacy in elementary education.

Abstract

Ecoliteracy or ecological skills are important aspects in shaping the character of children who care about the environment from an early age. Early childhood is a very potential stage of development to receive basic values ​​of environmental concern. Instilling ecoliteracy in children is not only the responsibility of formal educational institutions, but is also greatly influenced by the role of the family as the first and main learning environment. This literature study aims to examine various scientific findings on the role of the family in instilling ecoliteracy in early childhood. The method used is a literature review of various scientific articles, books, and relevant research reports. The results of the study show that parental involvement in environmental-based activities, family communication patterns, provision of an environmentally friendly home environment, and parental role models greatly contribute to shaping children's ecological awareness. In addition, collaboration between families and educational institutions also strengthens the process of internalizing ecoliteracy values. A consistent and comprehensive approach is needed from the family to create a generation that is aware of and cares about environmental sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between reading interest and literary appreciation ability in fifth grade students at SDN 2 Bojongmenteng, Lebak Regency. The background of this study is based on the fact that low reading interest in students often results in a lack of ability to appreciate literary works, such as poetry, fairy tales, and folk tales. Literary appreciation requires emotional and intellectual involvement that is closely related to reading habits. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The subjects of the study were all 30 fifth grade students. The instruments used were a reading interest questionnaire and a literary appreciation ability test that had been validated by experts. The results of data analysis using the Pearson correlation test showed a positive and significant relationship between reading interest and literary appreciation ability with a correlation coefficient value of 0.678 and a significance of 0.001 <0.05. This shows that the higher the students' reading interest, the better their ability to appreciate literary works. This study recommends that teachers increase literacy activities through integrated reading activities and provide stimuli in the form of literary works that are appropriate to the students' development level. This finding provides a basis that strengthening reading interest needs to be a focus in learning Indonesian, especially in the literary aspect.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a digital picture storybook based on religious character education in the subject of Islamic Cultural History (SKI) in class IV MI An-Nur Cirebon City. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results of media expert validation obtained a feasibility score of 94% (very feasible category), material expert validation of 96% (very feasible category), linguist validation results of 97% (very feasible category), as well as the results of student response trials of 91% (very good category) and an N-Gain value of 0.85 which stated very effective. The results showed that the digital picture storybook developed was considered feasible and effective to use as learning media. This media is expected to improve understanding of SKI material while instilling religious character values in students, as well as providing innovative alternatives in interesting and interactive learning

Abstract

This research is an experimental research with a quantitative approach. The purpose of this study is to determine: 1) The effect of the use of ICT-based learning media on students' science learning motivation. 2) The effect of the use of ICT-based learning media on science learning outcomes of grade V students of SD Negeri 1 Laompo. The results of the study showed that in the subject of Natural Sciences (IPA) with the experimental method there was an increase, namely, the average value obtained in the pre-test of the experimental class was 61.70 and the average pre-test value in the control class was 60.00 and after being given treatment the post-test results in the experimental class were 80.29 while the post-test results in the control class were 79.15. the increase that occurred between the experimental pre-test and the experimental post-test was 18.59 and the increase that occurred between the control class pre-test and the control class post-test was 19.15. The pre-test score in the experimental class has a minimum score of 47 and a maximum score of 75. The pre-test score in the control class has a minimum score of 44 and a maximum score of 75. The post-test score in the experimental class has a minimum score of 76 and a maximum score of 95, while the post-test score in the control class has a minimum score of 65 and a maximum score of 84. Based on the results of the observation of motivation before being given the application of ICT-based learning media, it appears that the motivation aspect has an interest with a success percentage of 4.46%, attention with a success percentage of 5.13%, concentration with a success percentage of 3.64%, perseverance with a success percentage of 5.04%. From the data above, an average of 18.27% can be obtained and the level of success achieved is incomplete. And after being treated, it appears that the aspect of student learning motivation has an interest with a success percentage of 7.56%, attention with a success percentage of 8.20%, concentration with a success percentage of 5.68%, perseverance with a success percentage of 9.55%. Based on these data, an average of 30.99% was obtained and the level of success achieved was complete.

Abstract

Instilling national values from an early age is crucial for shaping the character of a young generation who love their homeland. One strategic effort is to integrate local wisdom into Social Studies (IPS) learning in elementary schools. This study aims to describe the integration of local wisdom into the IPS curriculum and its impact on fostering patriotism among students at Kuala 3 Public Elementary School. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The results indicate that introducing local values such as customs, folklore, traditional ceremonies, and local figures in IPS lessons can foster a sense of pride and belonging in one's own cultural identity. Teachers play a central role in designing learning materials that are contextual and relevant to the surrounding environment. Furthermore, student involvement in local culture-based learning activities such as role-playing, making traditional crafts, and listening to local stories increases their participation and motivation to learn. Thus, integrating local wisdom into IPS learning not only enriches the teaching material but is also effective in fostering nationalism from an early age.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of application of learning innovative in elementary schools. This results is low student achievement, especially in science subjects. The purpose of this research is to describe the influence of the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) learning model on student learning outcomes in grade IV science subjects. The type of research used in this research is quasy experiment, or quasy experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. Based on on the results of research conducted, it shows that the results of the paired sample test (paired t-test) obtained a sig (2-tailed) value of 0,000 < 0,05 indicating that there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. So it can be concluded that by using the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) influences student learning outcomes in class IV science subjects at at Kendari 6 Public Elementary School.

Abstract

Writing skills are a crucial component in developing student literacy at the junior high school (SMP) level. Teachers play a strategic role in developing these skills through relevant and impactful pedagogical approaches. This study, a literature review, aims to examine various teacher strategies for developing students' writing skills that positively contribute to their literacy development. Data were collected from various scientific articles, educational journals, and research reports published in the past five years. The study's findings indicate that strategies such as a writing process-based approach, the use of digital media, formative feedback, collaborative learning, and the integration of real-life contexts into writing assignments have proven effective in increasing student motivation and writing quality. Furthermore, the teacher's role as a facilitator, capable of guiding and providing space for the exploration of ideas, also strengthens students' interest and literacy skills. This study recommends the development of professional training for teachers to enhance their competency in implementing innovative and impactful writing learning strategies. The implications of this study indicate that targeted writing skills not only improve student literacy but also strengthen critical, creative, and reflective thinking skills, which are essential in today's digital age.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model on social studies learning outcomes in class V students of SD Negeri 6 kendari. This research is expected to make the development of science about the effect of the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model on social studies learning outcomes, For students, this research can be useful to help improve student activeness and student learning outcomes in social studies learning. This research uses a quantitative approach. This type of research is a type of experimental research because of the provision of learning treatment using a learning model that is Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model. Experimental research aims to describe things that happen if the class under study when given treatment.The target of our experimental class trial is class VA, VB SD Negeri 6 kendari with a total of 29 students. in this study. the average value of students' social studies learning outcomes before learning (pretest) is 47.41 and the average value of students' social studies learning outcomes after learning (posttest) is 74.14. With the difference or difference in the average pretest and posttest scores of 26.73 this indicates an increase in student social studies learning outcomes by using the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model. then the conclusion in this study is Based on the results of hypothesis testing conducted using the One-Sample Test obtained sig. value of 0.000. This means that the value of sig. 0.05 so it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is an effect of Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model on social studies learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 6 Kendari.
