Abstract

PT. XYZ is the manufacturing industry that is engaged in the processing of kitchen utensils. But in running its business, the company is still often face problems relating to the quality of product defects that eventually resulted in the number of requests could not be met. To address the problem of the quality of this, companies need to implement Total Quality Management (TQM). However, need to be examined in advance of accession the application of quality management positions in the company based on European Foundation Quality for Management (EFQM) model. The purpose of this study is to analyse the influence of each variable in EFQM in order to determine the company's readiness to implement TQM. A method of analysis in this research is path analysis. Its purpose to explain direct effect and indirect effect from exogenous variable to endogenous variablein EFQM model. The result showed that  variable of EFQM, which  need to be improved is strategy and planning on process of 14.3%. Effort which need to do by the company to improve the effect  of strategy and planning on process are making training knowledge about  company’s strategy and rules, personal approchment to the employee, and controlling the strategy and rules. Overall, the total score based on self assessment is 787.637 or approximately 78.76%, which indicates that the company is in great shape ready to implement TQM.

Abstract

The accuracy in fulfilling orders which has been promised by the company and the quality of the product which conformed with expectation, as well as a fee charged was elements of satisfaction that must be fulfilled by the company. PT. XXX  is a manufacturing company  which active in the fields of making concrete products, namely PC Piles and PC Pole. Based on data from the company, the company is only able to meet the SPK (work orders) as much as 15 projects (71,43%) and within schedule was 21 projects, the rest as much as 6 projects (28,57%) was late in completion. This research aimed is to determine the received date by using Load Oriented Manufacturing Control methods which are calculations of manufacturing lead time, considered time of delivery  an order to the consumer, the capacity available at every station work, time process on work stations and the flow of production. By using the Load Oriented Manufacturing Control method and considering an available capacity, delivery time and order priority, then received date of order type of PC A 400(1) is 3 days, a type of PC A 400(2) is 5 days a type of PC A 400(3) is 9 days, a type of PC A 350(1) is 6 days, a type of PC A 350(2) is 8 days, and type of pc a 300  is 7 days are obtained. It showed that the calculation of order received determination by using the Load Oriented Manufacturing Control (LOMC) methods compare to actual method is more accurate.

Abstract

PT Plantation X is a company engaged in oil palm and rubber plantations. The study focused on the problems of transporting TBS (fresh fruit bunches) of oil palm using rickshaw. Rickshaw used to transport the the yields which harvested by dodos started from citing TBS using gancu and scattering berondolan cited by hand then to put it in a small bucket. TBS and berondolan transported by rickshaw then poured into TPH (The calculation results) to be weighed. The transport work process done with not ergonomically that potentially cause musculoskeletal complaints (MSDs). Methods that used in data collection and problem solving, which are SNQ, REBA, and anthropometric approaches. SNQ (standard Nordic questionnaire) used to know MSDs worker complaints. REBA method is used to see the level of risk based on the work position. Anthropometric data are used to guide the design of a rickshaw in accordance with the workers posture. Results showed snq complaint occurred in the shoulder, waist, thighs and on the right side of the body. Complete review using REBA on elements of activities demonstrate the needs to improve the transport facilities, especially the rickshaw which is a facility that is always used by the transport workers. Anthropometric data which used in redesign the work tool for transport operators are shoulders height, arm reach, shoulders width, and hands.

Abstract

PT. Bank XYZ merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang industri jasa perbankan. Setiap tahunnya perusahaan mengalami perkembangan jumlah nasabah sehingga membuat nasabah melalukan proses pelayanan perbankan harus menunggu lama untuk mendapatkan sebuah pelayanan di PT. Bank XYZ. Penentuan jumlah Teller optimal bertujuan untuk melakukan analisa dan perbaikan terhadap sistem antrian di PT. Bank XYZ. Hasil pengamatan yang diperoleh di PT. Bank XYZ melayani sekitar 350 nasabah/hari dengan jumlah pelayanan nasabah (Teller) sebanyak 4 orang Teller. Banyaknya jumlah nasabah yang datang melakukan proses transaksi perbankan membuat antrian panjang pada jam-jam sibuk (10.00 WIB - 13.00 WIB) yaitu jumlah nasabah yang menunggu untuk dilayani sebanyak 30 orang. Jumlah Teller yang tersedia dinilai masih kurang dapat melayani jumlah nasabah yang datang sehingga banyak nasabah yang meninggalkan barisan antrian akibat terlali lama menunggu. Jumlah teller yang tidak sesuai dengan kebutuhan nasabah akan memberikan kerugian untuk nasabah maupun perusahaan karena banyak waktu yang terbuang. Penggunaan model antrian dapat membantu perusahaan dalam menganalisis dan merancang sistem antrian agar proses transaksi dapat berjalan secara optimal berdasarkan jumlah kedatangan, lama pelayanan dan aspirasi perusahaan. Hasil evaluasi penentuan jumlah Teller optimal diperoleh jumlah Teller optimal yang sesuai dengan aspirasi perusahaan sebanyak 6 Teller. Jumlah Teller yang tersedia sekarang berjumlah 4 orang sehingga diperlukan tindakan berupa penambahan jumlah Teller sebanyak 2 orang menjadi 6 orang. Penambahan jumlah teller dapat memberikan perbaikan dan peningkatan kinerja kedalam strategi perusahaan dalam meningkatkan produktivitas perusahaan pada umumnya dan peningkatan jumlah nasabah pada khususnya.

Abstract

PT.XYZ adalah perusahaan yang begerak dalam bidang pembuatan pallet kayu. Produk yang dihasilkan berupa pallet kayu yang biasa dan pallet kayu yang telah difumigasi. Berdasarkan kuesioner SNQ pada proses pembuatan pallet kayu di stasiun pemotongan diperoleh hasil bahwa para operator sering mengalami keluhan musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Keluhan meliputi tubuh operator bagian pinggang, bokong , punggung, betis, dan bahu. Metode yang digunakan adalah QFD dan pengukuran anthropometri sehinga diperoleh rancangan fasilitas kerja. Fasilitas kerja akan dirancang untuk mengatasi keluhan musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) berupa kursi duduk berdiri. Metode yang digunakan dalam perancangan fasilitas kerja adalah QFD (Quality Function Deployment) untuk mengetahui spesifikasi kebutuhan dan keinginan konsumen terhadap produk yang akan dirancang sedangkan Pengukuran anthropometri dilakukan untuk mengetahui ukuran tubuh dari pekerja. Penggunaan QFD digunakan untuk memperoleh atribut yang lebih spesifik berdasarkan kuesioner terbuka dan tertutup yang pada akhirnya menghasilkan HoQ (House of Quality). Hasil dari HOQ berupa tingkat kesulitan dari rancangan untuk setiap karakter teknik adalah mudah, derajat kepentingan bernilai penting, dan perkiraan biaya tergolong murah sehingga layak untuk dirancang. Pengukuran anthropometri dilakukan dengan mengukur dimensi pekerja dengan menggunakan alat human body martin YM-1. Hasil dari penelitan ini dihasilkan Fasilitas rancangan berupa kursi duduk berdiri dengan dimensi: tinggi kursi 76,2 cm; lebar dudukan kursi 37,6 cm; panjang dudukan kursi 45 cm; dan tinggi sandaran 19 cm.

Abstract

The research was conducted at PT. XYZ which is a manufacturing company engaged in the manufacture of spare parts of screwpress and digester. The study was conducted only in the manufacture of spare parts of screwpress, namely protection nut, screw worm, cone guide, dismentling plate, cone, pin & coupling nut, strainer, extension shaft, intermediate gear, and flexible coupling. The flow pattern at PT. XYZ is job shop and produced by make to order, each product has a different process flow, sequence and timing of different processes, but through the facilities of the same engine, so may result in idle time on a machine and the accumulation of another job on the machine. PT. XYZ used production scheduling by FCFS rule that still result in a delay in the completion of orders and there was so much undone job because makespan values was too large. The purpose of this study was to minimize the makespan, namely the Tabu Search Algorithm. Results from this study is the reduction occurred from time to schedule company with Tabu Search Algorithm is from 141.22 hours or minutes become 132.14 8473.2 7928.4 hours or minutes. Relative Error shows that the savings obtained makespan between Tabu Search Algorithm with the method of company is 6.8715% and the value of Efficiency Index is 1.068715. It can be concluded that the Tabu Search Algorithm produces a smaller makespan than the company actual scheduling.

Abstract

In this era of globalization, many companies are paying special attention to efficiency, effectiveness and productivity to be able to see the use of its resources in an optimal and achievements against targets. PT XYZ has a large human resource as many as 296 employees and 290 outsourced staffs. However, in some common functions of delays in the completion of the report/assignment. So that the necessary analysis and appropriate approach to analyze the workload of employees so as to optimize the use of employee time and human resources efficiency. The methods which used to analyze the workload of PT XYZ employees by using the Subjective Workload Assessment Technique (SWAT) and the Work Sampling.The results SWAT indicate that Time Load factor (T), which predominantly affects the function of employee workload Legal, External Relations and HSSE. To assistant Manager External Relations and Customer Relation assistant Physicological Stress factor(S) is more influentiall in his work. As for the assisstant Industrial Hygiene factors Mental Effort (E) which influences his work. Each employee mental burden is on high and medium category. Based on the results of work sampling showed that most employees functionality Legal, External Relations and HSSE nonproductive activities during work hours exceeding allowance given. Only assistant Industrial Hygiene to harness the full working time for productive activities. Based on the results of the study are expected workload companies can do the division of tasks and allocation of employees better.

Abstract

PT. YYY is a company engaged in the production of antimosquito. The problems faced by the company is not ergonomic chair sorters. It’s height is not compatible with the work area (oven baking sheet) and doesn’t have a backrest. It resulted a risk in a working posture sorter. If allowed to continue, may lead to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). The research used qualitative and quantitative methods. Qualitative method with SNQ (standar Nordic quetionaire) and comfortable quetionaire. SNQ is used to know the pain in part of body as a resulted not ergonomic chair sorters. Quantitative method with measure body dimension of sorters and redesign chair’s sorter by antropometric approach. In antropometric approach, do some testing. That is : uniformity test, adequacy test, normality test, and percentile value determination. Shoulder breadth and sitting shoulder height was proceed by 95 percentil, while buttock-popliteal was proceed by 50 percentile.The samples used were as many 39 sorter employees. SNQ shows that employees have pain in someparts of their body such as hips and buttocks. The result showed that risk reduction of MSDs. Actual working posture get level 6 which indicate that chair improvement is important, while employees’working postures with redesigned chair get level 3. Level 3 showed risk reduction on employees

Abstract

PT XYZ is a company concerned in the port services, one of which is the loading/unloading of goods using a mobile crane. Based on observations, a mobile crane company owned only one unit and installed capacity company are 92 tons per hour company while the load demand on average 157 tons per hour. From the above data shows that the company can not meet the load demand due to insufficient capacity. In an attempt to adjust the loading capacity and load demand is done with addition of capacity through addition of crane. Forecasting is used as a method to predict the loading demand in the future. Data of forecasting is used as reference in approximating the exact number of cranes. Based on the calculations, crane that needed to solve the problem are two units, so it required the addition one crane. The proposed alternative type of cranes are mobile crane 5 ton capacity and luffing crane 10 tons capacity. The best type of crane are selected using decision theory which use payoff approach, they are payoff profit and payoff risk. From the calculation, the best type of alternative criteria from the payoff profit is Luffing crane with a value 7.75, 10, 2.5, 2.5, while for the payoff risk, the best is mobile crane with a value 4.55; 3.5; 7; 1,75. The best type of crane based on comparative payoff is luffing crane. With the addition of luffing crane loading capacity of 10 tons to 276 tons of companies per hour and can meet the load demand loading/unloading and companies.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company engaged in the field of port services that serve the activity loading/unloading dry bulk vessels loaded. Based on the interview with the company known that the arrival of ships per day up to 5 ships with a length of service up to 3 days per vessel is still causing queues on dry bulk terminal. The research method used was the distribution of test data on the number of boat arrivals, the data between the time of arrival of the ship, and the ship service time approaches poisson and exponential distribution patterns to determine the queuing model used. The results obtained by the data of ship arrivals follow Poisson distribution and arrival time data between ship and ship service time follows an exponential distribution with the queuing model M/M/3: FIFO/∞/∞. Calculation of the attributes of the queue is known that λ = 0.7875 μ = 0.3168 with the average number of vessels in the queue Lq ≈ 3.3576 as 4 boats and ships an average time while the system is 7.4202 days. With the aspiration level of company that the average number of vessels in the queue no more than one vessel and the average ship time while the system is no more than 4 days, the queuing problem is solved by giving suggestions to increase the number of dock as much as 1 unit. With this addition then, the average number of vessels in the queue to be one ship, while the average time for the ship to be in the system to no more than 4 days. This condition states that the problem of queues at the dry bulk terminal is in the category as desired by the company.
