Abstract

The growth of paylater services in Indonesia requires consumers to submit personal data for credit verification. However, this dependency risks triggering third-party misuse, such as identity theft, abusive collection practices, or data breaches due to weak security systems. This legal-doctrinal research analyzes types of data misuse, provider liability, and consumer protection. Utilizing statutory and conceptual approaches, the study references the Consumer Protection Act, Personal Data Protection Act, ITE Act, and OJK regulations. The results indicate that paylater providers, as data controllers, bear multi-layered legal liabilities: civil (breach of contract and tort), administrative (OJK and data authority sanctions), and potential corporate criminal liability if negligent security causes consumer losses. Legal protection includes preventive channels through transparency and informed consent, as well as repressive channels via regulatory complaints, dispute resolution, and lawsuits. This study emphasizes the importance of provider accountability in securing consumer identity data.

Abstract

The growth of e-commerce in Indonesia has increased shipping volumes alongside consumer complaints regarding delivery delays. This legal-doctrinal study aims to analyze the legal relationship between consumers and shipping services, legal protection, and the construction of corporate liability for delivery delays. Utilizing statutory and conceptual approaches, the analysis relies on the Civil Code, Commercial Code, Consumer Protection Act, and Postal Act. The results indicate that the legal relationship stems from a consensual contract of carriage via standard clauses, weakening consumer bargaining power. Delivery delays without force majeure constitute a breach of contract, triggering compensation rights under Article 19 of the Consumer Protection Act. The carrier’s liability follows the fault-based principle (fault liability) with specific limitations that must not negate fundamental consumer rights. Dispute resolution is accessible through non-litigation or litigation channels. This study recommends strengthening supervision over standard shipping clauses and harmonizing regulations for damages caused by delivery delays.

Abstract

The development of social media has triggered massive dissemination of digital works while increasing the risk of plagiarism without the copyright owner's consent. This legal-doctrinal research aims to examine the status of digital works as protected objects, analyze their legal protection against social media plagiarism, and formulate available legal remedies. Utilizing statute and conceptual approaches, this study relies on the Copyright Act and the Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Act. The results indicate that digital works qualify for protection as long as they possess originality and tangible form. However, Indonesian regulations do not explicitly accommodate social media characteristics, making current protection general and reactive. Furthermore, the application of the notice-and-takedown principle for digital platforms remains uncomprehensively regulated. Copyright holders can pursue both non-litigation and litigation channels. This study recommends strengthening technical regulations regarding digital platforms' obligations and clarifying the definition of digital works within the national legal framework.

Abstract

The enactment of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code sparks academic debate as it simultaneously maintains the principle of formal legality and recognizes the living law (living law) as a basis for criminal liability. This normative legal research, employing statute, conceptual, and historical approaches, aims to examine the conceptual consistency between these two principles and its implications for legal certainty. The results indicate that the living law is formulated as a form of extended legality (extended legality). Its application is contingent upon procedural requirements via local regulations and substantive requirements regarding compatibility with Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, and human rights. Despite its official recognition, the unwritten and particularistic nature of customary law still poses potential tensions with the principle of legal certainty and risks causing disparities in court rulings across regions. This study recommends the careful drafting of technical guidelines for local regulations to bridge legal pluralism with the protection of citizens' rights.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the influence of product quality, brand image, and word of mouth on purchasing decisions for petroleum products at the Vivo Tambun gas station. Rising demand and competition among petroleum product providers have prompted companies to better understand the factors that influence consumers’ decisions when choosing products. This study employed a quantitative method, with data collected through a questionnaire distributed to consumers at the Vivo Tambun gas station. The sampling technique used non-probability sampling with a sample size of 100 respondents. Data analysis was performed using validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, and F-tests. The results indicate that product quality, brand image, and word-of-mouth have a positive and significant influence on purchasing decisions, both partially and simultaneously. Brand image is the most dominant factor influencing the decision because consumers consider the level of trust and the positive image of the Vivo gas station. Product quality contributes positively through good fuel performance that meets consumer needs. Additionally, positive word of mouth further reinforces consumers’ purchasing decisions. Collectively, these three variables explain 77.1% of the variation in purchasing decisions, while the remaining 22.9% is influenced by other factors. The Vivo Tambun gas station is expected to continue improving quality, strengthening its brand image, and optimizing its communication strategies to boost purchasing decisions and customer loyalty.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the rapid growth of the culinary Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector in the digital era, which requires business actors to adapt to changes in marketing technology. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) based digital marketing strategies and to identify the challenges of visual branding and content production faced by micro business actors. This study employed a descriptive analytical qualitative method with a case study approach involving two culinary MSMEs in East Java, namely Camilan Nusantara and Camilano. Data were collected through in depth interviews with the business owners, observation of operational activities, and documentation of digital assets. The results show that Camilan Nusantara managed to sustain its business through conventional SEO based blog optimization, organically filtering potential products based on market response. Meanwhile, Camilano, which emerged during the pandemic, relied on interpersonal relationships (word of mouth) and Instagram, but faced significant obstacles due to limited skills and visual content production tools. The study concludes that although digital platforms provide broad market access, the consistency of MSME sales is strongly influenced by visual literacy and independent content production capability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms of liminality that occur in Ronggiang dance performers. This study uses a qualitative method in the Liminality approach. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The research sources consisted of Ronggiang singers, first dancers, and children of Ronggiang singers. Data were collected through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, as well as drawing conclusions and verification. The results of the study indicate that the initiation process in Ronggiang performances consists of a separation stage, a transition stage (Liminal), and a re-acceptance stage in the social structure. In the liminal phase, Ronggiang performers experience changes in social identity through processes, behavioral adjustments, and involvement in the rules and symbols of the performance. This phase creates an ambiguous condition where individuals are between old and new identities as part of the Ronggiang community. In addition, liminality in Ronggiang performances also shows the formation of social solidarity and relationships between performers.

Abstract

Public service is a core function of the Indonesian National Police, requiring professional, transparent, and accountable delivery oriented toward citizen satisfaction. This study aims to measure public satisfaction levels among residents of Sumbawa District receiving services from the Sumbawa Resort Police. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, with a population consisting of service users over the past three years. A sample of 100 respondents was determined using the Slovin formula, with stratified proportional and purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through offline and online questionnaires, and the instrument was tested for validity and reliability. Descriptive statistics including frequency distribution, percentages, mean, median, mode, and standard deviation were used for analysis. The SERVQUAL model was applied, encompassing five dimensions: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. Findings indicate that overall public satisfaction falls within the satisfied category, with a mean score of 63.78 (SD = 7.16). The tangibles dimension achieved the highest average (3.00), while empathy recorded the lowest (2.63), though still within the satisfied range. This suggests that facilities and staff appearance are well-regarded, whereas personalized attention and understanding of community needs require further enhancement. In conclusion, services provided by the Sumbawa Resort Police have generally met public expectations. These results are expected to serve as evaluative input for maintaining service quality and improving areas that remain suboptimal, thereby fostering more effective and responsive public service delivery.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of foreign direct investment (FDI), domestic investment (PMDN), and labor on Indonesia's economic growth. This study uses secondary data sourced from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) for 2024. The research method used is a quantitative approach with cross-sectional data regression analysis. To obtain more reliable estimation results and address potential violations of classical assumptions, this study uses the robust standard error method. The results show that, partially, foreign direct investment (FDI) has a positive and significant effect on economic growth, while domestic investment (PMDN) has a significant negative effect. Meanwhile, the labor variable has no significant effect on economic growth. However, simultaneously, the variables FDI, PMDN, and labor are proven to have a significant effect on Indonesia's economic growth. These findings indicate that investment plays a crucial role in driving economic growth, while the labor force requires quality improvement to optimize its contribution.
