Abstract

The phenomenon of catcalling, verbal harassment of women in public spaces, is increasingly becoming a significant social problem, including in Muslim-majority countries. The Qur'an provides ethical guidance regarding social interaction and respect for women. This article uses a thematic interpretation approach with a literature study method, examining Qur'anic verses that are relevant to this issue, especially regarding the ethics of maintaining views and maintaining women's dignity. The results of the study show that the Qur'an emphasizes the importance of maintaining politeness in social interactions, which can be the foundation in tackling catcalling. Islamic ethical concepts can shape a culture that is safer and respectful of women.

Abstract

In Islam, women are required to seek knowledge just like men. Islam has equated women and men in matters of spirituality and religious obligations without any differences in the fields of knowledge and education. The Messenger of Allah SAW said which means: "Hisham bin Ammar Hafs bin Sulaiman Kasir bin Sanjir said to us from Muhammad bin Sirin from Annas bin Malik who said, the Messenger of Allah SAW said, "Seeking knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim (male and female)". In the Jahiliyah society in the Arab lands, women had the right to study and among these women were famous writers and poets (such as Shifa' al-Adawiyah, who was very good at reading and writing in the Jahiliyah era before the advent of Islam). After the advent of Islam, the life of the mind began to become more active and developed among the Arab people, women also obtained social rights that they had never had before the advent of Islam.  therefore education developed among women. What is intended to be expressed in this article is how women's education actually was in classical Islamic civilization: opportunities, tendencies, and the relationship between provisions contained in normative doctrine and historical reality.

Abstract

This article examines the values of optimism contained in isti'adzah and basmalah. The object of the study is the Book of Tafsir ar-Razi (Mafatih al-Ghaib) by Imam Fakhr ad-Din ar-Razi. This interpretation tends to be philosophical. In interpreting isti'adzah and basmalah, he tried to explore the wisdom implied in it so that it had an association with optimism. Among them that the most pronunciation of main ( afdhal) is a’udzu instead of asta'idzu even though the clause of the verse mentions fasta'idz (ask for protection). Because a'udzu is a pledge that describes the condition of an optimistic servant who has entered the protection of God Almighty. In addition to the basmalah pronunciation there is a deleted word (mahdzuf), namely: bismillah ibtada `kullu syai`. A parable is revealed about the king's slave who bought several horses, camels or donkeys by labeling the king's name on the shoulders of the animal so that the enemies could not disturb him. In this case it is as if Allah Almighty. said "actually Satan is an eternal enemy in every obedience. If you want to start obedience, then make it a symbol of My name so that the enemy cannot interfere in your worship. " This study confirms that isti'adzah and basmalah are not only practiced verbally, but also have optimistic values that affect the heart.

Abstract

Married couples face various domestic issues, from minor to significant problems. Islamic and positive laws emphasize domestic violence as a critical concern in marriages. This study explores how aggressive behavior at home is evaluated under Islamic and positive legal frameworks using a normative juridical qualitative approach, analyzing legal literature from libraries. Conclusions drawn from discussions indicate that Domestic Violence under Islamic Law is considered unjust and prohibited by Allah, reflecting principles of compassion (rahmatan lil’alamin). Positive Law defines such violence as crimes against humanity, involving discrimination and human rights violations that must be eradicated. Indonesia's Law Number 23 of 2004 stipulates that actions causing physical, sexual, psychological, or other forms of suffering within households, particularly against women, are illegal. Coercion, threats, or deprivation of liberty are explicitly condemned. In summary, both Islamic and positive legal viewpoints strongly oppose domestic violence, stressing the need for substantial societal and governmental measures to establish a safe and fair environment for everyone.

Abstract

Discourse on god is a study that never stops from time to time, especially in the study of Islamic thought. In the philosophical tradition, the philosophers describe three important approaches in the study and understanding of God: a) theological approach, b) cosmological approach and c) ontological approach. This paper aims to examine the existence of god. Proving God means making arguments to give certainty and truth about the existence of God. Theologians, philosophers, fuqahas, sufis, scientists and others never cease to express their thoughts about God. Thus various perceptions have been prepared according to rational, empirical (natural fact) evidence, as well as through religious experiences. Ibn 'Athaillah as Islamic thinker capable to elaborate sufistic, philosophical and fiqh approaches by not releasing the purity of theology, so as to present the uncorrect principle of tauhid.

Abstract

The Dialogue between the Qur’an and the Bible on Religious Moderation. The problem formulation of this study is how the concept of dialogue between the Qur’an and the Bible on religious moderation is, and what the mechanism of dialogue between the Qur’an and the Bible on religious moderation is. This study aims to: 1) understand the concept of dialogue between the Qur’an and the Bible on religious moderation, and 2) understand the mechanism of dialogue between the Qur’an and the Bible on religious moderation. The approach used is a normative theological approach, which seeks to understand religion using a framework of divine knowledge based on a belief that the empirical reality of a religion is considered the truest compared to others. The theoretical approach used is inductive, a thought process that starts from specific rules (events or matters) to determine a general rule (principle). The findings of this study show that dialogue, which is presented in written form, is presented as a conversation between two or more figures, straightforwardly, and also involves questions and answers regarding a problem as desired. The results of this research indicate that in both Islam and Christianity, dialogue teaches how to understand and tolerate each other in religious moderation. Therefore, both religions, especially the Qur’an and the Bible, understand that the dialogue mentioned serves to convey a message to others, aiming to touch the fundamental values of religion.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the resolution methods for evaluating mudallis and mukhtalat narrators in the science of hadith. A mudallis refers to a narrator who conceals flaws in the chain of transmission using various techniques, while a mukhtalat denotes a narrator whose memory has deteriorated, impacting the reliability of their narrations. These categories significantly affect the quality of hadith. This research employs a qualitative approach through the analysis of classical and contemporary hadith literature to identify methods for validating narrations from these types of narrators. The findings reveal three main steps in assessing mudallis and mukhtalat narrators: (1) analyzing the chain of transmission to detect indications of tadlis or memory alteration, (2) evaluating narrations based on the opinions of scholars of jarh wa ta’dil, and (3) applying hadith criticism principles to measure the validity of narrations. This study highlights the importance of caution when accepting narrations from mudallis and mukhtalat narrators to preserve the authenticity of hadith. Keywords: Mudallis, Mukhtalat, Hadith Criticism, Jarh wa Ta’dil, Chain Validation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the issue of the decisions made by couples who consciously and voluntarily choose not to have children or do not desire to have children in the future, whether biological, stepchildren, or adopted. As a society that believes children are a blessing, this is a surprising decision for others in the community. This society is faced with the inability to have children due to physical health issues of one of the spouses or the innate instinct present in every human being when confronted with children, which often leads to behaviors that make adulthood a source of comfort or a calming remedy. The purpose of this research is to analyze and provide an understanding of the meaning of childfree in marriage according to Al-Maraghi. The findings of this research show that when childfree is associated with Surah An-Nahl, verse 72, it becomes evident that this concept is quite the opposite. It is understood that if the decision to be childfree is based on personal pleasure without a solid foundation, solutions and alternatives can be sought. This is different from the case of postponing pregnancy, either by using contraception or naturally, without terminating the pregnancy.
