Abstract

 AbstractThe book Ta’wil Mukhtalaf al-Hadith by Ibn Qutaybah al-Dinawari represents a significant effort to resolve apparent contradictions in hadith texts. This article aims to examine the book’s contribution to conflict resolution in religious understanding, specifically how it serves as a guide for critically and moderately understanding differences in hadith. This study employs content analysis of the Ta’wil Mukhtalaf al-Hadith text, combined with a historical-critical approach to explore the context of the book’s composition and its impact on the tradition of hadith interpretation. The findings reveal that Ibn Qutaybah successfully offers a comprehensive interpretive framework, emphasizing the importance of understanding the asbabul wurud (circumstances of the hadith’s narration) and employing reason in interpreting texts. This approach not only resolves apparent contradictions but also encourages readers to integrate a holistic understanding of the text. The study concludes that Ta’wil Mukhtalaf al-Hadith significantly contributes to fostering an inclusive religious understanding and avoiding polarization caused by narrow interpretations.Abstrak. Kitab Ta’wil Mukhtalaf al-Hadith karya Ibn Qutaybah al-Dinawari merupakan salah satu upaya signifikan dalam menyelesaikan kontradiksi yang tampak dalam teks-teks hadis. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kontribusi kitab tersebut terhadap resolusi konflik dalam pemahaman keagamaan, khususnya bagaimana ia menjadi panduan untuk memahami perbedaan dalam hadis secara kritis dan moderat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis isi (content analysis) terhadap teks kitab Ta’wil Mukhtalaf al-Hadith, dengan pendekatan historis-kritis untuk menelaah konteks penulisan kitab tersebut serta dampaknya pada tradisi pemahaman hadis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Ibn Qutaybah berhasil menawarkan kerangk a interpretasi yang komprehensif, dengan menekankan pentingnya memahami konteks asbabul wurud (sebab-sebab hadis diucapkan) serta penggunaan akal dalam menafsirkan teks. Pendekatan ini tidak hanya menyelesaikan kontradiksi yang terlihat tetapi juga mendorong pembaca untuk mengintegrasikan pemahaman teks secara holistik. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa Ta’wil Mukhtalaf al-Hadith memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan dalam membangun pemahaman keagamaan yang inklusif dan menghindari polarisasi akibat interpretasi yang terbatas.

Abstract

Penderitaan merupakan realitas yang tak terpisahkan dari kehidupan manusia dan seringkalimenimbulkan pertanyaan teologis mendalam mengenai eksistensi dan keadilan Allah. Artikel ini membahasbagaimana tradisi iman, khususnya dalam Islam dan Kristen, merespons penderitaan melalui konsep teodisi.Dengan metode kajian literatur, tulisan ini mengeksplorasi pandangan Ayub tentang penderitaan, teodisiIrenaeus yang menekankan penderitaan sebagai sarana pertumbuhan spiritual, serta peran penderitaandalam membentuk iman dan karakter manusia. Ditekankan pula bahwa penderitaan bukan hanya hukumanatas dosa, melainkan juga alat Allah untuk memurnikan iman, membentuk karakter, dan mengingatkanmanusia akan kebutuhannya kepada Allah. Pada akhirnya, meskipun penderitaan seringkali tampakbertentangan dengan kasih Allah, namun dalam perspektif teologi, penderitaan justru menjadi jalan bagimanusia untuk mengalami pemulihan dan pertumbuhan iman yang lebih dalam. Artikel ini mengajakpembaca untuk memahami bahwa di balik setiap penderitaan, terdapat maksud ilahi yang membawakebaikan dan penyempurnaan jiwa.

Abstract

The implementation of Islamic inheritance law at Al-Fatah Pesantren has shown positive impacts in creating peace and justice in accordance with the principles of Islamic Sharia, based on the Qur'an and Hadith. However, issues arise as some members of the community do not fully agree due to differences in understanding, traditions, or personal interests. This study aims to identify the positive impacts of implementing Islamic inheritance law and analyze the community's response to its application within the pesantren. Using qualitative methods such as interviews, observations, and documentation studies, the research results show that this implementation is effective in reducing family conflicts. Nevertheless, further socialization and education are needed to overcome resistance and strengthen understanding of the justice of Islamic inheritance law to achieve broader acceptance within the pesantren community

Abstract

The phenomenon of radical ideologies propagated in the name of religion presents a critical challenge to both the religious harmony and social cohesion of Indonesian society. As traditional Islamic educational institutions, pondok pesantren hold a strategic position in nurturing students (santri) with a moderate outlook and refined moral character. This study aims to examine the role of Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Qulub in preventing religious radicalism through a Sufi-oriented educational framework, grounded in the values embodied in Surah Al-Anbiya’ (21:107), which portrays Islam as a mercy to all of creation (rahmatan lil-‘ālamīn).Employing a qualitative case study approach, the research utilized participant observation and in-depth interviews involving the kiai (spiritual guide), ustadz (teachers), and santri as primary sources. Data analysis was carried out through stages of data reduction, presentation, verification, and drawing conclusions. The findings suggest that the pesantren performs a transformative function by integrating Sufi ethics into the spiritual formation of its students. This is achieved through sustained tazkiyat al-nafs (purification of the soul) and practices such as mujāhadah (inner striving), riyāḍah (spiritual discipline), and the cultivation of maḥabbah (divine love), tawāḍu‘ (humility), and ikhlāṣ (sincerity). These values permeate both ritual worship (‘ibādah maḥḍah) and social conduct (‘ibādah ghayr maḥḍah), fostering a mutasawwif persona who embodies balance between spiritual consciousness, intellectual maturity, and social responsibility. Ultimately, the pesantren emerges not only as a center of religious learning but as a dynamic agent of Islamic moderation (wasatiyyah), offering a contextual, peaceful interpretation of the Qur’an and the spiritual tradition of Islam as an effective antidote to violent extremism.

Abstract

Islam as a religion of rahmatan lil 'alamin brings teachings that remain relevant throughout the ages, including in today's digital era. The Qur'an is the main guide in solving various life problems in a correct and wise way. This research aims to analyze the importance of ethics in receiving, verifying, and disseminating information based on the values contained in Q.S. An-Nur verses 11-20. It also aims to provide an understanding of how the principle of tabayyun can be applied in the digital era to prevent the spread of hoaxes and slander. The method used in this research is library research, by studying the Qur'an, books, journals, articles, and other sources that discuss ethics in information. The results show that tabayyun, which is the attitude of caution and clarification of the news received, is very important to prevent slander and the spread of hoaxes. In this digital era, information is easily spread through social media such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. However, this convenience also brings challenges in the form of widespread fake news that can cause damage in society. Q.S. An-Nur verses 11-20 teaches that spreading news without clear evidence is a dangerous act and will bring bad consequences, both in this world and in the hereafter. Therefore, applying the principle of tabayyun in the digital era is a concrete form of practicing Islamic values, maintaining social harmony, and building a society that is more honest and responsible for the information circulating.

Abstract

The interpretation of philosophical texts is always closely tied to social, historical, cultural, and biographical contexts, which influence how these texts are understood and accepted by readers. This study aims to analyze the role of texts and context in philosophical interpretation, as well as how their interaction gives rise to the diversity of existing schools of thought. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research analyzes philosophical texts from various intellectual traditions, both Western and Eastern, through an in-depth literature review. The findings of the study show that although philosophical texts contain profound and universal meanings, they can be interpreted in different ways depending on the social, political, and cultural context of the reader, resulting in various philosophical schools such as rationalism, empiricism, existentialism, and others. Academically, this research contributes to enriching the study of philosophy, particularly in understanding the dynamics of diverse text interpretations, as well as their relevance in religious and social studies. The study also emphasizes the importance of understanding context in reading philosophical texts to obtain a more contextual and inclusive understanding of the development of philosophical thought.
