Abstract

Coffee grounds are a by-product of coffee shops and household consumption which often become organic waste that is not fully utilized. One interesting solution is to use coffee grounds as raw material for value-added products, such as dishwashing soap. The aim of this service is that the UNNES Giat 6 Kebonan Village Team provides alternative solutions in the form of education and assistance regarding the use of coffee grounds in environmentally friendly dishwashing soap to improve household welfare and strengthen the local economy. The implementation of this activity involved various elements, such as Active 8 UNNES Students, posyandu cadres and the surrounding community. This service uses direct observation methods with implementation methods in the form of education and assistance to the Kebonan Village Hall service location by providing assistance in making dish soap from coffee grounds. The research results show that coffee grounds can be an effective alternative ingredient in making dishwashing soap that is environmentally friendly and saves household expenses. The resulting soap is proven to be effective in cleaning kitchen equipment and reducing negative impacts on the environment.

Abstract

Glucose is one of the important sources of energy in the body. To know the glucose level in the human body, it can be known through a glucose test. The purpose of checking the blood sugar test is one of the anticipations of contracting the chronic disease Diabetes Mellitus, especially for the elderly. The Timed Blood Sugar test method was a strip method. The blood sugar test uses participant blood samples which will then be tested for glucose levels on the glucose meter. There were around 30 participants who took the blood sugar test. The results of the Blood Sugar Test showed that 8 out of 10 male were ≤ 200 mg/dl with 2 of them in the range of ≥ 200 mg/dl. While the results of the examination of 20 women showed that 15 were in the range of ≤ 200 mg/dl and 5 of them were in the range of ≥ 200 mg/dl. It can be concluded that there are 7 out of 30 participants who are in a condition of high blood sugar levels.

Abstract

This activity is a form of implementation of service which is summarized in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Devotion is related to the approach of empowering women as agents of change in Indonesia based on the principles of Pancasila. The activities carried out are in the form of assistance and training which is motivated by the problem of piling up waste which needs to be managed into something useful. The increase in plastic waste and the dangers it poses to the environment will become a big problem if there is no solution. If managed properly, waste that can initially harm society can turn into something good and even become a source of additional income. The method used in this service is the method of mentoring and training for the Karangampel Village community with the main target being PKK cadre mothers. The aim of the assistance and training is as an effort to empower women in utilizing waste in the context of women's role as agents of Pancasila and as an effort to preserve the environment. This research is a form of service that we carry out to the people of Karangampel Village, Kaliwungu District, Kudus Regency to minimize the accumulation of waste. The results of this research show that women as Pancasila agents play an important role in teaching Pancasila values both within the family and society.

Abstract

Stunting, which indicates a disruption in child growth and development, is a significant issue in Wonosobo Regency, including in Pagerejo Village. The UNNES GIAT 9 KKN team has implemented a program during their Community Service (KKN) to address stunting, focusing on 26 children identified as experiencing stunting. This program includes conducting three healthy kitchen sessions with balanced nutrition menus and providing education on stunting and balanced nutrition to parents. Additionally, a mentoring program is in place to monitor the development of these children. Following the implementation of this program, progress has been observed in the 26 children with stunting, particularly in terms of weight, height, and head circumference.Through this outreach, it is hoped that mothers will gain a deeper understanding of stunting and become more aware of the importance of proper nutrition for their children. With increased knowledge and awareness, it is anticipated that the incidence of stunting in Pagerejo Village, Wonosobo Regency, will decrease, as children are the future generation. Moreover, attention to child nutrition and diet is expected to contribute to producing high-quality human resources in the future.

Abstract

Stunting is one of the serious health problems in the world. Insufficient nutritional intake is one of the main factors causing stunting in children. In Indonesia itself, precisely in Salatiga City in 2023 based on calculations from the e-PPBGM application, the prevalence of stunting has decreased by 43.72%. Meanwhile, the stunting rate in Kauman Kidul Village in 2024 was 24 children. With the high stunting rate in Kauman Kidul, Unnes Giat 9 students conducted a cooking demonstration of the Healthy Kitchen to Overcome Stunting (DASHAT) menu at the Kauman Kidul PKK. This cooking demonstration activity aims to increase awareness of the importance of balanced nutrition and knowledge about stunting in the community. The implementation of the cooking demonstration activity consists of the preparation stage and the implementation stage. The activity was filled with "Isi Piringku" education followed by a cooking demonstration. In the cooking demonstration, the main ingredients used in the DASHAT menu are local food ingredients that are easy to obtain. The use of local food ingredients is a form of utilizing resources that come from the surrounding area. By holding a cooking demonstration, it is hoped that it can increase knowledge, utilization, and creation of a balanced nutritional menu from local food ingredients.

Abstract

Empowering human resources at the village level, the country's first central point, is key to improving the quality of life and welfare of the community. However, there is an important issue that hinders stunting, which affects children's growth and development, thus affecting learning ability and productivity. Tlogotirto Village, Gabus Subdistrict, Grobogan, Central Java is one of the areas with a concerning stunting rate. In addition, this village is quite fertile with various natural potentials, including agricultural products, livestock, and water sources. However, community awareness of their potential is still low, which has an impact on the family economy. If this continues to happen, the handling of stunting cannot be done optimally, even though it is supported by government programs. For this reason, UNNES Giat 9 participants in Tlogotirto Village planned various programs including "Socialization of Entrepreneurship & Development of Selling Value Products, Mapping the Location of MSMEs Through Google Maps, Utilization of Used Cooking Oil Waste, Corn Cob Waste into Briquettes, and 3R Hazardous Waste Management".
