Abstract

Discipline character is one of the many aspects of character education that needs to be developed. As a place of learning, Madrasahs are expected to be able to provide learning that can shape character for students. Problems at MTs N 1 Pati regarding character emerge when students take part in distance learning (PJJ). In practice, teachers during PJJ only used modules and PowerPoint sent via the WA group. But the longer, the child is getting bored in learning and the level of discipline decreases. In addition, there are many assignments that are not collected, when learning, many students are late and don't even attend for various reasons. After the author made learning videos using YouTube media, and discussion forums on the WA group, students were increasingly motivated in learning, in fact, almost all students were active in opening material on YouTube. Discipline begins to show a significant level of improvement, which occurred in the first week at 75%, in the fifth week it can increase to 97%. The increase in student discipline was followed by an increase in the collection of student assignments. Many assignments were collected in a timely manner, the collection of assignments in August and September 2020 showed a significant change from the first task which was originally 78%, in the fifth task it had reached 98%. . Apart from YouTube media which can improve children's discipline, the role of a student guardian and homeroom teacher is no less important in shaping the character of discipline.

Abstract

Student activeness in learning English needs to be improved. This is because English is one of the things students need in education and everyday life. However, many students are not focused, do not play an active role, and find it difficult to understand the material. One of these conditions occurs because the teacher still uses conventional methods and does not involve students in the learning process, so students are also not encouraged to develop. This classroom action research aimed to discover the application of the collaborative learning model to increase students' activeness and abilities in the English subject Simple Past Tense (Basic Competency 3.10 and 4.10) class VIII. The research results show collaborative learning can improve students' activity and learning outcomes. These results are proven by the increase in learning outcomes in each cycle that is carried out until it reaches 100% completeness in the second cycle, and all students exceed the KKM (70) in cycle 3 with a class average of 87.

Abstract

The independent curriculum is a government program aimed at optimizing education and preparing to face the challenges of the Scientific 5.0 era which emphasizes the learning process on character building, critical thinking and project assignments that make students more challenged in learning. One important aspect of biology learning is practicum activities. Practicum activities can help students think, analyze, solve problems, prove and draw conclusions about matters related to certain subjects. Practicum activities require a guide in the form of a practicum guide in order to make it easier for students to carry out experimental steps. This study aims to analyze the validity and practicality of the biology practicum guidebook of the independent curriculum. This study used meta-analysis techniques with data collection through the collection of articles or journals via the internet. The sample used was 10 articles related to the use of biology practicum guidebooks. The results found the level of validity of using practicum guides with an average of 89.6%, then the level of practicality of using practicum guides with an average of 87.7%. Thus, the use of practicum guides can be categorized as valid and practical so that the development of independent curriculum biology practicum guides can be carried out.

Abstract

Education helps shape the positive perception of society so that it can reach its maximum potential. Article 3 of Law No. 20 of 2003 concerning the Education System states that students can develop into complete and dignified human beings. To develop noble morals, students must apply the Pancasila values contained in the Pancasila Student Profile in the Independent Curriculum. The Merdeka curriculum places great emphasis on allowing instructors to create their own courses. A meta-analysis is an examination of multiple research findings on related issues as part of a larger study. The purpose of this meta-analysis study is to evaluate the degree of validity and applicability of each data collected. Based on the results of an analysis conducted on 10 articles, the Nuanced Module of the Pancasila Student Profile is very appropriate to be used and developed in the classroom with 91.87% validity results and 82.56% practicality results. Thus, the Nuanced Teaching Module of the Pancasila Student Profile in the application of the Independent Curriculum can be used in learning in schools

Abstract

Seeing the learning conditions in class XI BDP SMK Negeri 1 Slawi has not implemented the PBL model optimally and does not involve student activities. When learning takes place, it is still centered on the teacher and students tend to be passive. This has an impact on the lack of development of student's critical thinking skills during learning. The purpose of this study was to test and analyze the effectiveness of the application of the problem-based learning model assisted by animated videos in improving students' critical thinking skills. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study was students of class XI BDP SMK Negeri 1 Slawi. The sample of this study was students of class XI BDP 2 as the control class and class XI BDP 4 as the experimental class using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection techniques were tests, observations, interviews, and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques used independent samples t-test and n-gain tests with SPSS Statistic 25 software. The results of the independent samples test showed a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.042 <0.05 meaning Ha was accepted. So, there is a difference in the average results between the experimental class and the control class. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the application of the problem-based learning model assisted by animated videos is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

In the rapidly evolving era of information technology, students’ comprehension of the Introduction to Information Technology course at Pignatelli Triputra University is becoming increasingly vital. This course, which lays the foundation for understanding technologies such as computers, informatics, information systems, and electronics, demands up-to-date digital resources. However, observations indicate that students often struggle with complex topics such as scheduling in operating systems, the relational model in databases, and computer architecture. For instance, the topic of scheduling involves grasping algorithms like Round Robin and First Come, First Serve. To address these challenges, a self-directed learning initiative was implemented, incorporating independent assignments that yielded satisfactory results. Nevertheless, difficulties persist in the Final Semester Examination due to a lack of consistent practice and engagement with the semester’s course material. This study aims to develop tailored approaches to optimize students’ understanding of Introduction to Information Technology. A strategic improvement is required to enhance the effectiveness of self-directed learning, making it more suitable for students.

Abstract

This article describes the results of an analysis of biology learning achievement testing for class X high school students using Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) model questions to measure literacy in reading scientific texts in a biological context. The research was conducted in the FMIPA UNNES Community Service series with a sample of 185 students from various high schools in Central Java. A total of 15 questions with a biological context were taken from the AKM question collection on the page https://pusmendik.kemdikbud.go.id/ and assembled in a Google form. Student responses were analyzed using the Rasch model with Winstep 5.2.2.0. The results of the analysis show that the questions used fit based on the MNSQ and PT Measure Corr values, or it can be interpreted that all the question items are valid. The question set is also estimated to be reliable because it meets Cronbach's Alpha value in the sufficient category. The item reliability value for measuring the quality of the questions is estimated to be adequate, and even the reliability value for measuring students' consistency in answering is estimated to be excellent. The sample of students can be classified into the literate group reading scientific information texts requiring particular intervention, basic, proficient, and proficient, with the most significant proportion being the proficient group.
