Abstract

Keterbatasan lahan menjadi masalah masyarakat perkotaan sehingga masyarakat mulai mencari solusi alternatif untuk tetap bisa memproduksi pangan secara lokal. Salah satu pendekatan yang semakin populer adalah sistem budidaya pertanian perkotaan (urban farming). Selain itu, pemilihan jenis komoditas juga menjadi pertimbangan penting untuk meningkatkan produktivitas hasil di suatu wilayah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji sistem budidaya dan jenis komoditas pertanian di Jakarta Selatan. Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai bulan Juni-Desember 2024 di lahan pertanian perkotaan daerah Jakarta Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara, eksplorasi, dan inventarisasi pada 10 kecamatan di Jakarta Selatan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pertanian perkotaan di Jakarta Selatan telah berkembang secara variatif dan responsif terhadap kondisi spesifik di kecamatan yang berada di wilayah Jakarta Selatan. Sistem budidaya yang dipraktikkan beragam mulai dari konvensional, hidroponik, vertikultur, aquaponik serta penggunaan wadah, sedangkan jenis komoditas yang dibudidayakan mulai dari tanaman sayur, buah, serta rempah dan obat.

Abstract

Pre-breeding of local rice is one of the important efforts to improve the quality of rice. Local rice has a source of genetic diversity that can be utilized to assemble new superior varieties and has the advantage of biotic and abiotic stress tolerance. Gapoktan Kaleng Banteng is a Farmer Group Association around the Kaleng Banteng Block area, Cibogo, Subang. Gapoktan Kaleng Banteng grows local rice varieties such as Sentani, Cakra, Ciherang Batu, and Ketan. Exploration of rice cooking traits is related to the improvement of rice quality in plant breeding activities. The purpose of this study was to identify the cooking traits of four local rice varieties at the genotype level. The method used was Iodine Staining of pollen. The genetic material used in this study was rice pollen from local rice varieties Sentani, Cakra, Ciherang Batu, and Ketan. Cooking traits at the genotype level can be categorized into waxy, heterowaxy, and nonwaxy. Rice pollen that produces a blue-black color is nonwaxy. Rice pollen that produces orange or brick red color is waxy. While rice pollen that produces both colors is heterowaxy. The cooking traits of local rice varieties in Gapoktan Kaleng Banteng have diversity. The diversity of cooking traits at the genotype level through the Iodine Staining method of pollen produces two colors, namely blue-black and orange. The characteristics of local varieties of Sentani, Cakra, and Ciherang Batu are categorized as nonwaxy. The characteristics of Ketan varieties categorized as heterowaxy.

Abstract

Pertanian merupakan salah satu sektor penting di Indonesia, akan tetapi sisa pengolahan hasil pertanian masih belum termanfaatkan secara maksimal, terkhusus pada limbah bonggol jagung. Selama ini, pemanfaatan bonggol jagung yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat hanya sebatas memanfaatkannya sebagai bahan bakar, dan tidak mengetahui manfaat lain yang tersimpan dari limbah bonggol jagung. Oleh sebab itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengurangi volume dari limbah bonggol jagung dan dapat meningkatkan nilai tambahnya yaitu salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk memanfaatkan limbah bonggol jagung tersebut adalah dengan mengolahnya menjadi arang aktif yang selanjutnya dapat diaplikasikan sebagai adsorben. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana tingkat efektivitas penggunaan arang bonggol jagung sebagai bahan adsorben pemurnian minyak. Kajian ini merupakan kajian SLR (Systematic Literature Review) dengan model PRISMA. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam 10 tahun terakhir penggunaan arang bonggol jagung untuk pemurnian minyak efektif digunakan. Hasil kajian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi sumber referensi dan membantu penelitian yang berkaitan dengan aktivasi arang aktif dalam pemurnian minyak jelantah. Abstract

Aerva sanguinolenta leaves contain anthocyanis that can be utilized as a borax detector in food products. This study aimed to determine the charateristics of Aerva sanguinolenta leaf extract and evaluate its effectiveness as a natural color indicator for borax detection. The research employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments of borax concentrations (0%, 1%, 2%, and 3%) with three replications. The paramaters observed included the yield and pH of the extract, as well as the reaction of the extract and the natural color indicator when exposed to varying borax concentration treatments. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and followed by DMRT at a 5% significance level. The result showed that the leaf extract yield was 79% with a pH of 4,93. The extract reacted positively to borax, producing varying color intensities across treatments. The natural color indicator reacted with borax and exhibitied significant differences (P<0,05) in red and yellow color parameters. The higher the borax concentration resulted in darker indicator color, indicating that natural color indicator from Aerva sanguinolenta leaves are effective for borax detection.
