Abstract

Kegiatan ditujukan kepada warga yang memiliki kebun apotek hidup. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra adalah masalah rendahnya pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga di lokasi mitra dan kurangnya ketersediaan pupuk pada apotek hidup di lokasi mitra yang menyebabkan pertumbuhan tanaman obat tidak optimal. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang pemanfaatan limbah rumah tangga sebagai pupuk organik cair. Metode kegiatan terdiri dari 1) Penyuluhan pemanfaatan limbah rumah tangga untuk pupuk organik cair melalui media poster, 2) Pelatihan partisipatif pembuatan pupuk organik cair dari limbah rumah tangga dan 3) Pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur indikator perubahan pengetahuan dan keterampilan partisipan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 20 Agustus 2023 di Kompleks Villa Pamulang RT 009/012, Kelurahan Pondok Petir, Kecamatan Bojongsari, Kota Depok. Kegiatan penyuluhan dan pelatihan pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga untuk pupuk organik cair berjalan dengan lancar dilihat dari tercapainya indikator keberhasilan berupa: 1) meningkatnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan partisipan terhadap pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga untuk pupuk organik cair dengan peningkatan sebesar 21,75%, 2) pihak mitra memberikan penilaian memuaskan (baik dan baik sekali) dengan persentase kepuasan 92,5%, dan 3) beberapa partisipan langsung mempraktikkan sendiri proses pembuatan pupuk organik cair dari limbah organik rumah tangga setelah kegiatan selesai.

Abstract

Utilization of abandoned land to cultivate medicinal plants as a living pharmacy can independently meet the needs of the family's herbal medicines. The majority of people in the area of RT. 009/012 Kompleks Villa Pamulang, Pondok Petir Village, Bojongsari District, Depok City, still relies on chemical drugs and rarely uses herbal medicines. This is due to the people's lack of knowledge regarding the benefits of medicinal plants. Based on these conditions, the partner community hopes that there will be activities to introduce more herbal medicinal plants in creating healthy pharmacies in their environment. This community service activity aimed to introduce various medicinal plants and increase the availability of medicinal plants in living pharmacies in RT. 009/012 Kompleks Villa Pamulang. The activity was carried out at RT. 009/012 Kompleks Villa Pamulang, Pondok Petir Village, Bojongsari District, Depok City on 5-6 of August 2023. The activity consisted of two stages, namely, the explanation of medicinal plants and their benefits and the handing over of several types of medicinal plants to the people of RT. 009/012 Komleks Villa Pamulang. The activity went well and received great enthusiasm and response from the partner community. The partner community was delighted with the activities and gave a satisfaction rating of 92.5%. Partner community hopes there will be more activities related to environmental management and living pharmacies in the future.

Abstract

Urban farming merupakan strategi pemanfaatan lahan sempit untuk menghasilkan bahan makanan segar sebagai upaya pemenuhan ketersediaan pangan perkotaan. Lokasi keberadaan KWT Nusa Indah yang berada di daerah padat penduduk menyebabkan keterbatasan lahan menjadi sebuah permasalahan penting, sehingga praktik budidaya tanaman lahan sempit sangat dibutuhkan. Microgreens menjadi solusi yang ditawarkan kepada KWT Nusa Indah untuk menjadi alternatif budidaya tanaman lahan sempit, namun belum ada sumber daya yang dapat memberikan informasi terkait microgreens. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra terkait praktik budidaya microgreens. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 11 Januari 2025, di Balai Warga Jl. Gunung Indah VI RT 01 RW 03, Kelurahan Cirendeu, Kecamatan Ciputat Timur, Kota Tangerang Selatan. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 15 orang peserta dari mitra. Pelaksanaan meliputi kegiatan survei awal, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap evaluasi. Tahap survei awal telah dilakukan untuk memetakan masalah dan rencana waktu kegiatan. Tahapan pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi program, penyuluhan, dan pendampingan. Tahap evaluasi meliputi penilaian peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta, serta penilaian kepuasan mitra. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat telah berhasil dilakukan dengan baik, ditunjukkan dengan nilai tes yang mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan sebesar 20,15% dengan hasil skor kepuasan mitra sebesar 100% (sangat puas).

Abstract

Brazilian spinach originated from the American continent and has not been widely cultivated in Indonesia. Its narrow land urban farming development is constrained by low light-intensity conditions that prevent Brazilian spinach from growing optimally. The research aimed to study the effects of shade and cutting length on the growth of Brazilian spinach plants. The research was conducted from December 2023 to January 2024 at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture UMJ. The research used a split-plot design with a randomized complete block design (RCBD) as the environmental design. The treatment used as the main plot was shade consisting of no shade, 45% paranet shade, and 65% paranet shade, while the length of cuttings became a subplot consisting of 5 cm, 7 cm, and 12 cm. The treatment combinations formed are nine, and were repeated 3 times. The results showed that shading increased humidity and decreased temperature and light intensity in the plant microenvironment. At the end of the study, in general, the provision of paranet shade up to 65% did not significantly affect Brazilian spinach plants' growth except for plant height and root length. The cutting length had no significant effect on all observed variables. The use of 5 cm cutting length is recommended because it is considered more efficient in providing cutting material. There were no interaction effects between shade and cutting length on the growth of Brazilian spinach plants.

Abstract

Brazilian spinach (Alternanthera sissoo) is one of the vegetables introduced to several Southeast Asian countries, such as Indonesia. There are few scientific references on the optimal dose of fertilizer use, especially compound chemical fertilizers like NPK, on the growth of Brazilian spinach. This study aims to examine the effect of different doses of NPK on the growth of Brazilian spinach. The study was conducted from October 20, 2024, to January 24, 2025, in the researcher's home field located in Buaran Village, Serpong District, South Tangerang City. The research used a randomized block design (RBD) with 5 levels of NPK doses, namely 0 kg/hectare, 100 kg/hectare, 200 kg/hectare, 300 kg/hectare, and 400 kg/hectare. Each treatment level was repeated 5 times, and each experimental unit had 3 sample plants. The results showed that the tested doses of NPK compound fertilizers did not significantly affect all the observed growth variables of Brazilian spinach, which included the time of shoot emergence, number of shoots, number of leaves, leaf width, root length, root weight, consumption weight, and gross weight. The use of a planting medium mixture of soil, rice husk charcoal, and cow manure in a 1:1:1 ratio can support the growth of Brazilian spinach without the need for additional inorganic fertilization.

Abstract

Background: Samhong is a mustard variety that is becoming increasingly popular in Indonesia. To increase its production, appropriate cultivation technologies are necessary, such as enriching the growing medium with organic matter. One organic material that can be utilized is compost made from oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB). OPEFB is the solid waste remaining after oil has been extracted from the flesh (mesocarp) and kernel (endocarp) of fresh oil palm fruits.Aims & Methods: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different OPEFB compost dosages on the growth and yield of samhong mustard plants. The research was conducted from March to May 2023 at the Experimental Field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta. The study utilized a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with five treatment levels, consisting of a control group using inorganic NPK fertilizer and four different doses of OPEFB compost (25, 50, 75, and 100 g/plant).Result: The results of this study indicate that, in general, all OPEFB compost applications resulted in lower growth and yield compared to the NPK control. However, a positive trend was observed where higher compost doses led to improved plant growth. Furthermore, correlation analysis revealed a strong to very strong positive correlation between OPEFB compost dose and the growth of above-ground parts and yield of the plants. This study indicated that OPEFB compost has potential to be used as organic fertilizer with higher doses.

Abstract

Masyarakat Desa Kuripan 2, Kecamatan Tiga Dihaji, Kabupaten OKU Selatan, Sumatera Selatan membutuhkan masjid. Pembangunan masjid dilatarbelakangi masjid eksisting yang kondisinya perlu diperbarui. Pembangunan masjid direncanakan di tanah kosong dengan bangunan baru. Perwakilan masyarakat berniat menggalang dana untuk pembangunan masjid tersebut. Kegiatan ini bertujuan membantu masyarakat Desa Kuripan 2 mendesain masjid sesuai kebutuhan dan karakter lingkungan. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan pemahaman komunitas sasaran, perencanaan program, dan metode pelaksanaan. Metode pelaksanaan adalah kegiatan desain masjid dari data lingkungan dan diskusi dengan perwakilan masyarakat. Desain masjid yang dihasilkan bisa menampung kapasitas lebih besar dari masjid eksisting dengan gaya arsitektur minimalis vernakular. Gaya arsitektur minimalis vernakular adalah hasil diskusi tim pelaksana dengan masyarakat Desa Kuripan 2. Hasil akhir desain telah disetujui dan telah diserahterimakan kepada perwakilam masyarakat Desa Kuripan 2. Hasil desain adalah gambar denah, tampak, potongan, detail ornamen, perspektif eksterior, dan perspektif interior.

Abstract

Kailan has strong selling power, making it an attractive commodity for farmers. Plant introduction in a breeding program is one of the attempts being made to boost commercial kailan yield in Indonesia. The purpose of this introduction was to develop new varieties with high production, good yield quality, resistance to plant pest assaults, and adaptation in a variety of situations. The study sought to assess the agronomic properties of several imported kailan genotypes when grown in tropical lowlands. This experiment was conducted from May to July 2023 in the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta, South Tangerang City. The study employed a Randomized Complete Block Design with one treatment factor, the kailan genotype, with five levels, including three introduced genotypes (KI001, KI002, and KI003) and two national varieties as comparators (Nita and Nemo). The results revealed that the introduced genotype KI003 had superior total fresh weight and marketable fresh weight features than the other introduced genotypes and all comparator varieties. The introduced genotypes KI001 and KI002 share the same agronomic features as the two comparator varieties. The study found that all introduced varieties could adapt well to lowland tropical climatic conditions, however only the introduced genotype KI003 demonstrated superior adaptation when compared to the comparator types. Abstract

Keterbatasan lahan menjadi masalah masyarakat perkotaan sehingga masyarakat mulai mencari solusi alternatif untuk tetap bisa memproduksi pangan secara lokal. Salah satu pendekatan yang semakin populer adalah sistem budidaya pertanian perkotaan (urban farming). Selain itu, pemilihan jenis komoditas juga menjadi pertimbangan penting untuk meningkatkan produktivitas hasil di suatu wilayah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji sistem budidaya dan jenis komoditas pertanian di Jakarta Selatan. Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai bulan Juni-Desember 2024 di lahan pertanian perkotaan daerah Jakarta Selatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara, eksplorasi, dan inventarisasi pada 10 kecamatan di Jakarta Selatan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pertanian perkotaan di Jakarta Selatan telah berkembang secara variatif dan responsif terhadap kondisi spesifik di kecamatan yang berada di wilayah Jakarta Selatan. Sistem budidaya yang dipraktikkan beragam mulai dari konvensional, hidroponik, vertikultur, aquaponik serta penggunaan wadah, sedangkan jenis komoditas yang dibudidayakan mulai dari tanaman sayur, buah, serta rempah dan obat.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan penduduk dan urbanisasi yang pesat di Jakarta menyebabkan berkurangnya lahan pertanian serta meningkatnya risiko ketergantungan pangan dari luar wilayah. Upaya untuk mengatasi tantangan ini, dilakukan program pelatihan dan pendampingan budidaya microgreens dan hidroponik kepada anggota PWA ‘Aisyiyah Jakarta. Rangkaian kegiatan dilaksanakan sekitar 3 bulan yaitu April-Juni 2025 dan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan ketahanan pangan rumah tangga serta mendorong kemandirian pangan masyarakat perkotaan, khususnya ibu-ibu. Sebanyak 20 peserta terpilih dari enam wilayah Jakarta mengikuti program ini setelah melalui tahap seminar dan seleksi. Program dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu survei awal, pelaksanaan, evaluasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 53,8% peserta tertarik mengembangkan kedua teknik budidaya, dan 80% menyatakan keinginan untuk terus menanam sayuran sehat di rumah. Sebagian besar peserta berhasil memanen microgreens dan mengolahnya menjadi makanan bergizi, meskipun masih ditemukan kendala teknis yang memerlukan pendampingan lanjutan. Program ini terbukti meningkatkan pengetahuan, motivasi, serta peluang pendapatan alternatif melalui budidaya sayuran di lahan sempit.
