Abstract

This study aims to investigate the forms of locution, illocution, and perlocution speech in TikTok ads and their influence on consumer responses and behaviors. Using a qualitative approach with pragmatic content analysis methods, this study analyzed three video ads from beauty and personal care products—handbodies, makeup, and toothpaste—as well as user comments on TikTok as secondary data. Data was collected through video content documentation and screenshots of comments, then analyzed based on J.L. Austin's speech theory of action. The results of the study show that each ad uses an effective linguistic and multimodal strategy in conveying a persuasive message. The act of locution functions as a conveyor of product information, the act of illocution contains an invitation and the formation of a brand image, while the act of locution can be seen from the appearance of real responses such as trust, buying interest, and positive testimonials in the comment column. This study concludes that speech in TikTok ads has an important role in shaping consumer perception and encouraging consumptive behavior, making language a strategic tool in digital marketing communication.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze environmental (ecological)values in the oral traditions of the Ciamis community using a literaryecocriticism approach. The research focuses on how folklore, songs(tembang), mantras, and proverbs (petatah-petitih) are inherited tomaintain the balance between humans and nature. Ciamis Regencypossesses a rich variety of oral traditions, which function not only asentertainment but also contain ecological messages reflecting thecommunity's worldview. However, modern lifestyle shifts havecaused these values to be neglected. Employing a qualitativedescriptive method, data were collected from key cultural sitesincluding Kampung Kuta, Panjalu, Rancah, and Karangkamulyan. The results indicate that Ciamis oral traditions are laden withecological messages, categorized into four themes: (1) Forestconservation through the "Leuweung Larangan" myth; (2) Waterglorification through the "Nyangku" ceremony; (3) Agricultural ethicsin "Nyi Sri Pohaci" praises; and (4) Human-animal relationships in the"Ciung Wanara" legend. These traditions serve as vital resources forbuilding environmental awareness and strengthening communitycharacter.

Abstract

This research addresses the erosion of Kawali folklore by transforming it into 2D animated digital storytelling, aiming to preserve local culture and provide engaging oral literature learning media, particularly for Community Reading Gardens (TBM) in Ciamis Regency. The research adopted the Research and Development (R&D) method, encompassing phases from data collection and script adaptation to 2D animation production using Toon Boom Harmony and Adobe After Effects. The primary finding was the documentation and selection of "The Legend of the Origin of Kawali" (Legenda Asal-Usul Kawali) due to its significant values regarding sacrifice and toponymy. The output is a narrative audiovisual script and an animated short film currently 80% complete, featuring simplified plots and culturally authentic character designs (Ki Bondan and Ajar Sukaresi). The study concludes that 2D animated digital storytelling is a highly effective, innovative, and relevant solution for integrating local wisdom into literacy programs, fostering cultural preservation, and enhancing reading interest among the digital generation at TBM Gada Membaca Kawali.
